Have you experimented with longer shutter speeds Vs stopped time and speed? I have the aluminum 31” by GVM and it’s really bedeviling me when I try to set the parameters for long exposure shots of 15 and 30 seconds. It only seems happy if your shutter speeds are less than the .1 interval. Real head scratcher.
Not sure I understand the question, but I'll take a stab at it. I think if you watch my other video that explains the time lapse parameters (th-cam.com/video/NkoFalG5qpY/w-d-xo.html) it might clarify it for you. The parameter that you have to set longer than your shutter speed is Stop time, not Interval. Interval in conjunction with speed just sets the distance the carriage moves between shots. Hope this helps.
@@phototopics1156 The video you linked is VERY helpful and I now have figured out how to do 25s exposures via a Stop time of 28s. This is now allowing for a beat to let the camera settle, make the exposure and finish writing the image before the carriage moves again. I was finding that the carriage was moving before the image was written to the card meaning the camera wasn't ready to take the next shot and it was shooting only every other move. Your video was an "Ah Ha!" moment and made me realize I needed to open the Stop Time window a bit more. Thanks!!
There is a little slop in the carriage which I would expect would show up most when it changes direction. Other than that, I wouldn't expect it to make the camera jump in the middle of a slide. However, it's not at the top end of slider quality, so I would expect some compromises. Overall, I think it's well made for the price.
Can you explain why in the first time-lapse sequence there are three times it looks like the camera jerks? Two major, one very minor. It does not appear on the left to right version, just the right to left. I just received the same slider and don’t want to waste my time if the parallax function causes too much slop for useful time lapse.
