    Nice work, and very nice camera work, I know it slows the project progress alot to film well. Thanks for the effort and sharing

    Evolution makes a great chop saw. Picked one up myself.

      Yup agree, one of the best purchases I've made to help me with metal working.

      It is well worth the money for a hobbyist shop.

    I like it! I'm inspired, going to make one that will roll out the door for outside work. Well done!

    Kool table! Just need to add adjustable feet on each leg! Be a perfect table! I have that same saw...it’s amazing! I don’t know how I have lived without it! Picked mine up at menards for $189.00 that’s a steal for the time and effort it saves! Thx for sharing!!

      Thanks for the comments. I love the saw as well. It's made projects so much easier with it. One of the best tool purchases I've made.

    Nice job man, I like it being able to be leveled off. I will use the idea just a little larger, 3ft by 6ft. I think a slide-out tray for debris, dross-slag, and the welders underneath would be a good addition. The fridge is cool, but that is going to get nasty and you will be cleaning the fridge a lot. I have the Evo saw in a compound miter version, that blade will last quite a long time.

      Thanks for the comments. Hope your build goes well, those are some good enhancements. I move it out when using it and only place it back over the fridge when not in use so it doesn't get dirty....well not too dirty.

      It is undoubtedly one of the best things I have bought for diy metal working. Not perfect at all, but it saves so much time.

    Wow what cinde of saw blade is that?

    • @ShinyInsanity
      @ShinyInsanity  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a carbide blade made for cutting through steel. Works well :)

  • @jwiereng
    @jwiereng ปีที่แล้ว

    so you wish you used UNF bolts?

    • @ShinyInsanity
      @ShinyInsanity  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. I usually am not doing work that requires that level of extra precision but I can see how it would be useful. If it's ever needed I can always cut, grind and then re-weld new bolts 😁

      @@ShinyInsanity I like your line of thinking. I am inspired by fireball tool, and like his method of using a tapped and threaded rod. Similar to yours but without the need to weld to the plates. I think I may need to borrow some time on a lathe to drill and tap the centre of many thick bolts.

    Hey mate, do you find your Evolution saw cuts slightly out of square?

    • @ShinyInsanity
      @ShinyInsanity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes some adjustments to get it to cut straight. Also I find it happens more if you push the cut versus letting the saw cut naturally.

  • @jwiereng

    Rubber casters to collect and melt from hot metal, shavings and sparks. 4" higher than a counter top, that's high. No bottom shelf for tools. What an odd designed table.

    • @ShinyInsanity
      @ShinyInsanity  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Polyurethene casters - no issues so far. 4 inches higher is perfect for me (if you are short you can get a stool to stand on). No bottom shelf since it was made to fit over a mini fridge. What odd comments :)
