Your honesty, lack of pretentiousness, unapologetic nerdiness, and simple love of movies come across in each and every video. THAT is why I keep checking back in to see what you think. And, as a bonus, your tastes match mine nearly perfectly. I don't go see a movie until it has at least a "Good Time If You're Drunk" from you, Jeremy. Here's hoping you continue for many more years to come. Thank YOU for all you've done.
Yeah. Just found this channel, but he's actually pretty good, and not annoying like nearly all other movie reviewers I've seen. Personally I thought Oppenheimer was boring and the final John Wick wasn't that great, but considering how little there was this year I kind of agree with the list. At least John Wick was an okay ending to the story. And I knew Oppenheimer would be boring, but still a technically good movie. Oppenheimer was probably extra boring for me because I already knew a bunch about the guy. I do think Meg 2 should have been on the list though, as dumb as it was it was by far the most entertaining movie I watched this year.
You’ve literally said everything I’ve been wanting to say to Jeremy after following him and watching his reviews for YEARS. Took the words right out of my mouth! Favorite reviewer of all time 🔥🙌🏽🔥
I've been watching you do these movie reviews for us since before you had the beard LOL. It's not an exaggeration to say you are possibly my most trusted movie reviewer. You always give us your honest opinion, with no grifting. Have an excellent 2024 Jeremy, keep being you!
Godzilla Minus One was the biggest shock for me. Wasn't expecting anything from this, but it was brilliant. Even the score felt so old school like those 60's monster films, did it in such a good way. But yes, John Wick 4 was a masterclass in filmmaking. The camera work, the cinematography, it was brilliant to watch.
@@theslayer2360 I would say the third act absolutely is. The cavalry arriving, the getting out just in time, everyone is saved, the war will still continue, etc.
You were my first ever subscription in 2012 Jeremy. You’ve got me through middle school, high school and college. Now at 25 years old I look back and you really showed me the way with your passion in video games and movies. Please never stop brother.
I’ve been watching your videos since I was 12 with my dad. I’m now 18 and still watch, my dad only watches movies after asking “what did Jeremy think?” And he goes based on your rating. Thank you for everything Jeremy Much love 🙏
Crazy to think it's been 15 years already. The thing I love about the channel is that nothing has really changed. I watch a video, and I'm instantly transported back to the Wild West days of TH-cam before there was money in it. 2009 was a much different experience than today.
For me, I’ve been watching TH-cam content for 10-11 years now and channels come and go, but this channel has been one of the only ones that I’ve come back for every review. Thank you so much for another great year of reviews Jeremy. All the best Jeremy and on to 2024 and another great year of reviews 🙌
Thanks for including Michael J. Fox's documentary, Jeremy. Itwas so emotional, and it was fantastic to see Michael break down his career and Parkinson's Diagnosis.
I knew Michael J Fox well, he was a hell of a guy. Once we found out he was ill, we cut all ties. As my Uncle Ned always says in with the new and out with the old.....
Just remembered there being some asshat that dared to say (paraphrasing) ‘he’s an actor, hence he’s simply amplifying his disease to garner sympathy. In short, piss off Alex Jones.
I'm still shocked how fantastic and a master piece that Godzilla minus One was this year. The human story was just done right, made you root for the hero and the monster at the same time.
Yeah I agree. As a long time Godzilla fan it was cool to see such a great human story in a Godzilla film and also how so many non-Godzilla fans loved the film
Strange how time flies, I remember watching the Book of Eli review for your audition for LTA and thats what put me on to your channel. Been here ever since. Thank you for your honesty and sincerity, for not caving into what the internet wants you to say about a movie. Even though I am inclined to disagree comparatively with how I feel about some movies, you've kept it real since day one and there is no other TH-cam reviewer I trust or feel a connection to more than you, sir. Cheers to another year!
What most people are surprised by is that the first two Godzilla movies were made as serious movies. They were not supposed to be cheesy kid friendly fun. As a life long fan of Godzilla it's awesome to see the serious Godzilla back, and to see new people discover what Godzilla movies can be
Jeremy, over years I’ve subscribed and unsubscribed to so many channels based on the seasons of my life but in the middle of it all your channel has always been there. Thank You for everything you do! It’s been an incredible ride!
I think I might keep watching Jeremy till I die. His movie taste is just so in line with mine I can't trust any other reviewer. Thank you for all you've done 🙏🏾 Hope you'll able to support yourself with this channel forever!
I was like 14 when I started watching this channel and now I’m almost 24 - time flies! I don’t even realise at what point in my life I started waiting for Jeremy’s reviews before checking out a movie I was unsure about.
I really love that Jeremy takes every opportunity to show gratitude for people who have made this channel successful for so long. That thank-you video he did at the end of 2020 was a great example. This type of content really might not work for everyone, which makes it harder to be noticed in an ever-growing platform. I've been watching these reviews for close to 10 years now and loved every second of them. Keep being awesometacular!
My top 2 this year would be 'Oppenheimer' and 'Godzilla Minus One'. I feel like 'Oppenheimer' was a movie going experience. Seeing it in IMAX with a 100% booked theater is one of those "wow" moments for a movie. The last movie I went to where it was that packed and they booked extra screens for one movie was 'Avengers: Endgame'. Movies like that are just so damn fun because it becomes an event like going to a concert or sporting event. And then there's 'Godzilla Minus One' which I thought looked pretty good in the trailers, but my goodness I did not expect it to be THAT good. It's one of those monster/disaster movies which does lean more heavily on the human element...but it makes everyone feel real. This isn't like a 'Transformers' movie where the humans have some boring, self-absorbed side quest. When we saw Godzilla we saw the scariest version yet. And the film built up the fact that even though Godzilla itself was scary it's the loss of those you live with that is the most devastating thing anyone can experience and the feeling of constantly being knocked down and unable to rebuild/go on with normal lives. So yeah...I'm saying Godzilla is my movie of the year. Phenomenal movie.
Also my top 2 films of the year, IMAX for both films was awesome too! Oppenheimer because, well it’s Oppenheimer on an IMAX screen and Godzilla because being in that theater with all the other fellow Goji fans was an awesome experience
For real. These American Godzilla movies have boring ass human story lines that I want to skip through to get to the action scenes, but Godzilla Minus One's Human story blew me away. I have Oppenheimer as my 1 and Godzilla Minus One as my 2 too.
I can’t believe that he been watching Jeremy’s videos for almost 13 years now! He’s the first movie critic I ever watched on TH-cam and is one of the all time best on the platform. Thank you for 15 years of great content Jeremy🤘🏻
I know how you feel. I can’t believe I subscribed to him in year 1. This just shows how great he is at what he does. 14 years and still going strong. Jahns-fan assemble. 😂
The whole Paris segment in john wick 4 was probably the most fun ive ever had at a movie theater. I completely checked out of real life and was zoned into the movie seeing how it kept escalating. And the soundtrack too was just 👌. It did what a movie is supposed to do which is escape from reality
10. The Abyss 9. Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie 8. The Killer 7. Talk to Me 6. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 5. Killers of the Flower Moon 4. The Iron Claw 3. Oppenheimer 2. Godzilla Minus One 1. John Wick Chapter 4
I started watching JJ around 2013. It's crazy to think it's been that long. Congrats on the long TH-cam run. You're literally one of the only critics who's opinions I trust nowadays. Please don't ever change.
I honestly don't understand what people liked about Spiderverse. The main villain is the spot a guy who can barely make one episode of 90's Spiderman interesting. It's a two part movie with a completely jarring ending. It further minimizes the importance of Peter Parker as the first and main Spiderman. They have the pregnant Spiderwoman in it. And the plot doesn't even have to do anything with saving the world or even the city but is bascially about Miles trying to save his dad from some kind of predestined tragic fate... Honestly what do people like about it??? The Super Mario Bros movie was a hundred times better and honored its source material!
Been subbed for over 10 years to you, I've watched almost every single video, the reviews, the trailer thoughts, the extra thoughts you couldn't fit into reviews, whatever, I've watched almost all of it. I'm really grateful to you, JJ. We're near enough on the same page with our tastes, not 100%, but close enough. I don't have anyone to discuss films and shows with much anymore, so being able to hear you talk about what you've seen for the past few years has been amazing for me. Besides Wick, I haven't seen any of these other films this year, that somehow includes Abyss 😅. You've given me a quick list to get to ASAP. You've maintained this energy in your videos (the positive and the negative reviews) and it's been a part of my routine for over 10 years, to see what you've enjoyed, hated or been meh on. Can't wait to listen to what you have to say this coming year. Happy new year. Keep it up. Most importantly, Thank you so much, Jeremy.
i really respect you for your fair and balanced opinions. i know that if you say a movie is good or bad, it's not for social/political/whatever reasons, but purely based on merit. your reviews are instrumental in me deciding to buy a movie ticket or not, so thank you. congrats on (almost) 15 years!
Thanks for another year, Jeremy. As someone who's been around for a majority of your channel, I gotta say I still love tuning in every week to hear you chat about movies.
I know I’m not the only one who has said this but Godzilla minus one having less than 15 million to work with, made a stellar and poignant movie and did the impossible: made us care for human characters. I’m definitely buying this movie on 4k.
re: "4k" = 4k stands for ... HDTVs with 1,920-by-1,080 with four times as many pixels. (!!??) Unless one stays ahead of all this technology ... "4k" beat the crap out of my understanding !!
It wasn't impossible to make characters you care for, Hollywood just made it seem that way. They used to make films like that before but after Independence Day blockbusters became generic cash grabs.
I havent watched any of jeremy for the last couple of years, just scrolled through the thumbnails, mostly because i havent been watching movies much Glad i took the time to come back Always a fresh feeling Never change !
While everyone opted for Barbenheimer, Godzilla Minus One stomped in at the last minute to become Oppeheimer’s real mistress. I am going to pair these two in my collection.
This is one of my favorite parts of the end of the year, Jeremy's best and worst list! This put such a huge smile on my face as a 12 year fan of your channel! Hope the holidays treated you well Jeremy!
Happy holidays, Jeremy! Your opening message about the key to happiness truly spoke to me, particularly this year. Great honesty, good humor and precision. Love your work since I found your channel at the beginning of the pandemic. May 2024 be with you ;)🥂🎉🎬
My very first video I watched of Jeremy's (or the first one I have memory of) is his Inception review. Crazy to think that it's been THIS long now. His Top 10 lists are one of my most anticipated videos of every year, and he never disappoints. Thanks for all this years, my man!
Uhh The Boy and the Heron. God tier animation, and a mysterious multi-layered personal story that does not hold one’s hand. A message directed at the creators of the world, the film makers family, his regrets, and outlook on life.
Jeremy y'know, it's kinda crazy when I think about how long I've been watching your videos. When I look back at old reviews from 2010, it's wild to see how far you've come. I was barely a teenager and now I'm approaching my 30s soon. Boy does time fly. Glad you're still here man, keep it up and Happy New Year!💪🏾
I've been watching you since I was a kid. I can't believe how far we've come. I love watching your reviews as much as I love watching movies. I have so much love and respect for you and this channel. Live long and prosper, Jeremy. Here's to 2024 and making new memories. 🥂
It’s been a privilege watching this channel for over a decade now. You’re a household name where I’m from. Thanks for all the film/game reviews all these years Jeremy. Wishing you continued success. Side note: I’ve noticed a few people have been getting into the Legacy of Kain series this year and I know that’s one of your favorite games from way back when. Hope you review it one of these days, would love to hear your take on Kain, Raziel, and the story of Nosgoth. Happy Holidays!
Jeremy, I'm not sure if you'll see this, but honestly, you are one of the very few channels I've been subscribed to continuously since X-men origins Wolverine and have never once grown bored with. Thank you for doing what you do. Looking foward to your 2024 reviews and beyond.
I had a film studies class in high school where we had to go watch a movie once a month at the movie theater and write a review. Your reviews helped me figure out which movie to watch for the month. That was 13 years ago! Love your videos !
Jeremy, thank you for another year of wonderful work. Been watching you a long time. Never tire of your opinions and presentation. The perfect blend of humor and intellect. You're at the top of my list.
I didn’t really feel Oppenheimer tbh.. didn’t think it was a bad film - just didn’t hit any spot that made me think it was great.. and I’m not really a fan of Nolan’s writing as much as his direction and cinematography - but to each they own.
I raised my arms in joy and excitement when he announced his number-one spot for the year. I was wondering why he was skipping this masterpiece the whole time, and thank God he didn't. This guy gets cinema!

@@somerandolad My guy, didn't you hear that Barbie has 10 nominations to the Golden Globes and therefore will have more nominations to the oscar than any other movie this year? I guarantee that Barbie is going to take both the Golden Globe and the Oscar and that will be the final nail in the coffin for those awards
I agree. Barbie is gonna win solely to appease a very specific demographic as Hollywood begins to shift away from this very demographic. I put it next to super Mario bros as a very good, entertaining movie that had a lot of care put behind it. But is it truly better than dead reackoning, Oppenheimer, if John wick? No way. But, that very specific demographic probably didn't watch the other 3 movies I mentioned

Congrats on the 15 years, Jeremy! Consider doing a tournament-style "best of the best" showdown series. Year 1's top 10 vs year 2's, those winners go on to face year 3's and 4's etc.
This dude basically makes the same stuff for almost 15 years now. Same background, same style, same rating system! And honestly, I love it! Been following you for a while now Jeremy, keep it up man! Here's to another year of hopefully a lot of aswesometacular movies! :))

Congrats on still making videos man, here’s to many more years ✌🏻 For my Top 5 movies from this year I would have to say: 1. Godzilla Minus One 2. The Holdovers 3. Talk to Me 4. Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One 5. Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse
Been a fan of yours for years sir! Watching reviews from guys such as yourself and Chris Struckmann inspired me to pursue film criticism, and now I write movie reviews for a couple of Danish film magazines myself. My top 10: 10 The Promised Land (Danish film with Mads Mikkelsen) 9 In The Land of Saints and Sinners 8 Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One 7 The Killer 6 Napoleon 5 Killers of the Flower Moon 4 Leave The World Behind 3 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 2 Oppenheimer 1 John Wick: Chapter 4
Glad I'm not alone in calling John Wick Chapter 4 my #1 film of 2023. 😌😍 It was my first JW theatrical experience, and although I'd already spent time catching up on the franchise at home, seeing it on the big screen was what *really* made me understand all the surrounding hype for this series. JW4 goes balls-to-the-wall on action, spectacle, and set pieces without ever losing touch with itself, and as a result, you can tell the obvious sincerity behind it. Plus, weirdly enough, I don't think any movie this year gave me a bigger laugh than when John was being cartoonishly hit by multiple cars and falling down all those stairs. 😆🚔 P.S. I'm with Chad Stahelski's belief there should be a stunt category at the Oscars. 🏆
@@0dylan IKR? For as many duds as there were this year, in large part, 2023 really was the necessitated comeback post-pandemic cinema so desperately needed. While coming up with my own Top Ten list for the year, I'd almost forgotten just how many good ones there were, on top of such notable triumphs like the returning Scorsese and Nolan.
@@LuisSierra42 Ha ha, we must think alike! I grew up hyperfeminine, so my natural inclination at the time was think that action was for boys; I wasn't formally introduced to actually *liking* the genre until my dad showed me The Matrix. And although I've never considered it my film go-to, recently I've realized that I like action when it presents a certain distinction and sincerity to it, which is also why I find myself really like Dead Reckoning Part 1 this year, despite my never caring all that much for Mission Impossible in the past.
I don't know about stunt category in Oscars cause then the stuntmen would try to do even more dangerous stunts just to win that statue, putting their lives in even more harmful situations.
Congrats Jeremy. Been here since 10k subs. I've been watching movies alone at the theaters, and I'm always excited to go home and see your review after. You felt like a buddy I can talk to afterwards. Thank you man.
Love this list! When number one was coming, I was actually thinking "Where is that film?" but then it appeared. You actually inspired me to do my first top 10 list video on here, and you inspired me to post my movie reviews on here too. But anyway, my top 10 best films are: 10. The Creator 9. Wonka 8. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 7. John Wick Chapter 4 6. Elemental 5. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 4. Killers of the Flower Moon 3. Godzilla Minus One 2. Oppenheimer 1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Thank you for another entertaining year of reviews, and I look forward to 2024!!
Thanks Jeremy for another year of reviews. Been watching since the Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen review and since then I’ve loved watching movie reviews. Double Toasted, YMS, IHE, RTMM, Chris Stuckmann, all started watching because of you.
Hey Jeremy! My family and I just watched ‘The Holdovere’, and while not life changing, was really enjoyable, interesting, and heartwarming. It’s the perfect time to watch it, and can’t recommend it highly enough. Paul Giamatti is terrific in it, and a few new actors, too, really act well.
Lets Go Go Godzilla! Minus One! 😂 What I really appreciate is the debate internal monologues of yours 🤣Seriously though, Godzilla Minus One is such an experience, totally agree that it felt like What a Godzilla Film Should Be, or always meant to be. Its filled with wonderfully paced cinematic moments, that just speak out as instant classics. The stakes are at their highest, the writing, the cast and the story make the audience feel every single moment. I truly hope this film is nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars, because in my opinion, Biases aside, Godzilla's history in cinema and culture for the last 7 decades is right enough, as well as the quality of this film.
I instantly gave you a thumbs up for putting Abyss in the top 10. I would of put Guardians 3 on the list and I liked Godzilla Minus One more than John Wick; really the only difference I had with your list.
I feel John Wick was such a good action series because it wasn't structured like a movie, it was structured like an action oriented, story driven video game and divided over 4 movies.
i also just think the effort put into the action scenes are just on a different level. again that top down scene. fucking insane. the settings, the stylization. It all just feels good. it doesnt feel like it's just cheap action. I feel like I'm watching these movies more as a tech demo rather than a movie cause what john wick movies do with action is just top of the line.
Watch Jigarthanda Double X and thank me later 😊 4th highest rated action movie on Letterboxd in 2023 (just below John Wick 4 ranked number 3) it's a gangster drama with dark comedy, political themes, and is constructed an an ode to cinema through its theme, meta plot and movie references. (Loosely connected prequel to Jigarthanda, 2014, great too but not on the same scale)
Even though these days I’m less and less watching movies because my life just became more… Faster and busy. Whenever I see your notification I still click on your video and watch it because of your true passion for movies, cinema and story telling. I truly wish for you much more subscribers and viewers in many more years to come, and to never lose that drive because your work matters to us movie lovers, and gamers! May you have even more fans and success in next 15 years😂🙏
Can't disagree with much here, but honestly surprised at no mention for Mission: Impossible. Especially when you mentioned the 'Part 1' problem, I thought M:I did a brilliant job of marking it feel like a fulfilling part one of a two-part story, rather than one story chopped in half at some point to split it into two movies. Anyway, thanks for all the videos this year, hope you and your channel have a fantastic 2024!
Mission Impossible is probably my favorite action franchise and I can still see Dead Reckoning sucked. It was so generic and the "big stunt" felt very low stakes in the movie. Plus the villain was a horrible actor, the movie was overlong, and the movie overexplained itself like 5 times. "THE KEY THE KEY, NEED BOTH KEYS, GET EM BOTH. NEED BOTH PARTS OF THE KEY!"
Love celebrating the end of every year with these lists! Can’t believe it’s been 15 years of watching you! Keep this shit up! When a new Jeremy Jahns video is uploaded, it is an Event. My personal top 5 of the year: 1. Oppenheimer (saw it 11 times in theaters) 2. Across the Spider-Verse 3. Godzilla Minus One 4. The Creator 5. Killers of the Flower Moon
Evil Dead Rise is deserving of that #10 spot void in my book. The style felt old and new at the same time and it was just downright fun from start to end. Definitely a must-watch for Sam Remi/Evil Dead fans. I'm also really surprised that The Creator didn't make the list. I thought it was a really solid Sci-fi movie that was once again more than deserving of that number 10 void for me. But overall, it a pretty solid year for film. It was especially nice to see the lower budget movies succeed (namely Talk to Me and Godzilla Minus One) rather than Marvel movies.
@@lukefox3914 I didn't think so. I thought it delivered exactly what it set out to do. I just don't see any unrealized potential but maybe I'm missing something (I have only seen it once). That said, it definitely wasn't on the same level as Talk to Me which I consider to be among the best horror ever made.
I am so happy you enjoyed Godzilla minus one, I also went into that movie with absolutely no expectations. If anything I had a bit of hesitation knowing how cheesy Godzilla movies can be. Boy we were all wrong about that one. That movie was a BANGER
Jeremy is such a great.. treasure of a reviewer. He’s up there with the likes of Siskel and Ebert (regardless of what you think of them). He has far cemented himself as a movie legend! Props JJ!
Awesome top 10! Heres mine 1) Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse 2) Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 3) Talk To Me 4) Scream VI 5) Missing 6) The Super Mario Bros Movie 7) Thanksgiving 8) Transformers Rise of the Beasts 9) Five Nights At Freddies 10) Strays ATSV is my favorite movie of all time!
Jeremy was one the earliest "critic" or Cinephile that really got me interested in what film criticism on TH-cam was like. Now I'm not gonna lie, I don't consistently watch every video, but I do pop in to watch his videos because Jeremy, you're so cool Brewster. I love that you're a fan of films first, and you and Chris Stuckmann really opened up this world for me. This year alone I saw three classics on the big screen: Titanic, Christmas Vacation and Back to the Future. Classics hit harder watching with crowds as opposed to watching them at home. Congratulations on Fifteen Years of Success Jeremy!
Jeremy, I’ve been watching you and Chris since I was in high school! For over 10 years now! Thank you for always being honest, entertaining, and you! I’m unsure if I would be as enthusiastic about movies without your content. I appreciate you and thank you for all you do. PS: You should do a Q&A video! I’m sure we’d all love to learn more about you
All 4 John Wick movies are legit incredible: it’s rare for FOUR movies to not suffer from fatigue. I can’t think of many other series like that outside of Toy Story 4
I do really enjoy the John Wick movies as a whole. Even though the action in the sequels becomes so ridiculous, they are at their core, very good action flicks.
I do not understand the hype with John Wick. The first one was downright boring with action that didnt make any sense. "Nobody" is just a plainly better version of that movie.
Watching Jeremy’s top 10 makes me realize how it’s something I look forward to when ending the year and I can’t believe it’s been at least 10+ years since I found this channel. I regret none of it.
I always watch your take on movies of the year and liked it. This year was a tough one for movies, but I would consider Sound of Freedom a Top 10 this year. It was really well done and very moving. I also think Grand Tourismo and lot of fun to watch. I’ll have to watch Godzilla minus one now.
Mine was GRs The Covenant. People say Jake Gyllenhaal is not underrated, after watching this bs list i won't hear a word of it. This guy spoke about Godzilla minus one having undertones that anyone can get into, Covenant did just that on a deeper more relatable level. It deserves atleast a spot on every list.
I have been watching for the past 8 years and your videos and reviews have always been a breath of fresh air and has added to the experience of seeing a new movie. The excitement of getting out of the theater and hearing your take on it. Keep up the great work!
As usual, great list Jeremy. Love the Wick, Godzilla, and Oppenheimer love. Actually thought Sound of Freedom or Guardians 3 would make your top 10 but shoutout for including Abyss and Still on your list
@@dicekolev5360 What?! WHAT?! THAT train sequence was the most iconic and thrilling action scene of the year. What are you talking about hahaha. The only bad thing was that the story was unresolved since it was a part 1.
Great list. Hard to believe I have been watching Jeremy for a decade. For me personally I would have Oppenheimer at number 1. I would also have GOTG3 on my list and Elemental. I thought Elemental is the most underrated film of the year.
Great top 10!! Personally I'd have put Godzilla number 1, bit biased as I'm a huge Godzilla fan!! But it was absolutely amazing...!! I love the John wick films but I just felt this last one was just a tad too long and felt like I was watching a video game! Godzilla had the heart and you felt for the characters and even the monster himself.

I've been watching you do these movie reviews for us since before you had the beard LOL. It's not an exaggeration to say you are possibly my most trusted movie reviewer. You always give us your honest opinion, with no grifting. Have an excellent 2024 Jeremy, keep being you!
Thank you Jeremy, I’m 28 years old and for 15 years of my life I grew up watching your reviews. Thank you so much for all you’ve done.
A lot of the music used was from the old ones
Now you know Disney Marvel has their head up their ass when they turned down a Blade movie directed by John Wick director Chad Stahlenski
I didn’t see it yet but my fav Godzilla movie is Godzilla vs kong
@@Shadydan05 hurry up and see it then damn

Been watching you since 2011 Jeremy. Thank you for another year of entertaining reviews. Looking forward to seeing what 2024 brings
Godzilla Minus One is to 2023 what Top Gun Maverick was to 2022. What an unexpected masterpiece.
Perfectly said!!
I wouldn't go that far to say its like Top Gun maverick tho
I want to see that and The Iron Claw.
@@theslayer2360 I would say the third act absolutely is. The cavalry arriving, the getting out just in time, everyone is saved, the war will still continue, etc.
No it's not
You were my first ever subscription in 2012 Jeremy.
@Follow God:God loves you repent it will be worth it God bless you all💕💜♥️
For me, I’ve been watching TH-cam content for 10-11 years now and channels come and go, but this channel has been one of the only ones that I’ve come back for every review.
I forgot about that one. It was really good and cut together well.

Root for the monster? Maybe I'm uncultured, but at no point was I hoping Godzilla was gonna pull through 😂.
Who tf was rooting for the monster
@@lckaboom6810I was Godzilla is the goat
Yeah I agree. As a long time Godzilla fan it was cool to see such a great human story in a Godzilla film and also how so many non-Godzilla fans loved the film
What???@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist-
Strange how time flies, I remember watching the Book of Eli review for your audition for LTA and thats what put me on to your channel.
Been watching around 95% of all JJ's videos for at least twelve years. Love his takes, attitude and energy. For many more years enjoying his content.
What most people are surprised by is that the first two Godzilla movies were made as serious movies. They were not supposed to be cheesy kid friendly fun. As a life long fan of Godzilla it's awesome to see the serious Godzilla back, and to see new people discover what Godzilla movies can be
What do you mean last 2 movies? Isn't it the 5th movie of the new era? And Shin Godzilla had a serious Godzilla and devastating.

Godzilla Minus One should definitely be on everyone’s Top 3 list. Thank you Jeremy for acknowledging greatness!
Jeremy dont waste quality family time we appreciate the videos but you need your time to yourself 😊
Oppenheimer didn't even give the actual facts of the Rosenbergs it's fluffy trash
I loved Oppenheimer, but it stole the IMAX theaters from Mission Impossible 7, which would have deserved them.
Also my top 2 films of the year, IMAX for both films was awesome too! Oppenheimer because, well it’s Oppenheimer on an IMAX screen and Godzilla because being in that theater with all the other fellow Goji fans was an awesome experience
Oppenheimer was garbage, I could have slept at home for cheaper.
I am so glad John Wick 4 is on his list! I was like fuck yeah once he said it.
I know how you feel. I can’t believe I subscribed to him in year 1. This just shows how great he is at what he does. 14 years and still going strong. Jahns-fan assemble. 😂
I remember his videos since 2011, 😭 I didn't know we were making memories, just having fun
The whole Paris segment in john wick 4 was probably the most fun ive ever had at a movie theater. I completely checked out of real life and was zoned into the movie seeing how it kept escalating. And the soundtrack too was just 👌. It did what a movie is supposed to do which is escape from reality
The camera work from above when he was using the dragons breath is the only time in 55 years I was pushed back into my seat
I'm watching that shit again tonight. Damn you and thank you.
I thought John Wick 4 was very well made and I look forward to them but I fell asleep during 4... idk I just find the action scenes too repetitive

I started watching JJ around 2013. It's crazy to think it's been that long. Congrats on the long TH-cam run. You're literally one of the only critics who's opinions I trust nowadays. Please don't ever change.
Across the Spider Verse Oppenheimer and Godzilla Minus One are definitely the best films of the year
💯
What do you think of the iron claw ? If you’ve seen it ?
Um no. Agreed with Oppenheimer. Didn’t care for Godzilla Minus One. Across the spider-verse was awful though. It my worst movies of the year list
Across The Spiderverse felt like a ‘Part One’ it feels hard to judge it when it’s sole purpose is to set up a story that wasn’t concluded

Watching these videos has essentially become a tradition, thank you for all the years of doing this Jeremy!!🎉🙌🏻
Glad I'm not alone in calling John Wick Chapter 4 my #1 film of 2023. 😌😍
It was my first JW theatrical experience, and although I'd already spent time catching up on the franchise at home, seeing it on the big screen was what *really* made me understand all the surrounding hype for this series. 😆🚔
P.S. I'm with Chad Stahelski's belief there should be a stunt category at the Oscars. 🏆
Damn, I honestly forgot that movie came out this year. It feels like it was forever ago. There were some absolutely great movies this year for sure.
@@0dylan IKR? For as many duds as there were this year, in large part, 2023 really was the necessitated comeback post-pandemic cinema so desperately needed. Same, it's my favorite movie of the year and I'm not a big fan of action movies, but I like style when it's done correctly

Should have been called "The Holdover" objectively speaking. Thought it had a weird ending and I couldn't understand the message its trying to convey.
John Wick is the only movie on this list that is good. Sound of Freedom was brilliant! Not having it on your top 10 list is insane!
Would have*
Thank you for all you've done for us all these years, Jeremy. Happy new year, man!
May you have even more fans and success in next 15 years😂🙏
Number 10 is such a cop out. There’s so many movies from this year that could have taken that spot. TMNT, GotG Vol. 3, DnD, M:I 7, …
I had to scroll way way down to find someone mention DnD. How that didn't make the top 5 is concerning, but baffling that it didn't make the top 10.
Tmnt sucked
Agreed!
I'm just glad John Wick 4 was on his list!
Super overrated movie. 90% of it was Wick rolling around using the same moves over and over and over and over. Ultra repetitive@@graffiti.777
I’m shocked it didn’t at least beat The Abyss!
Love celebrating the end of every year with these lists! Can’t believe it’s been 15 years of watching you! Keep this shit up! When a new Jeremy Jahns video is uploaded, it is an Event.
My personal top 5 of the year:
1. Oppenheimer (saw it 11 times in theaters)
2. Across the Spider-Verse
3. Godzilla Minus One
4. The Creator
5. Killers of the Flower Moon
11 times is crazy.
11 times? You need help :D
Oppenheimer? I wouldn't even watch it again unless paid.
Evil dead rise had potential but i believe it fell flat mid way through the show
Trash movie
@@lukefox3914 I didn't think so. I thought it delivered exactly what it set out to do. I just don't see any unrealized potential but maybe I'm missing something (I have only seen it once). That said, it definitely wasn't on the same level as Talk to Me which I consider to be among the best horror ever made.
Ooh that's a good pick actually. Had so much fun with this one
😈👿😈
I am so happy you enjoyed Godzilla minus one, I also went into that movie with absolutely no expectations. If anything I had a bit of hesitation knowing how cheesy Godzilla movies can be. Boy we were all wrong about that one. That movie was a BANGER
Jeremy is such a great.. treasure of a reviewer. He’s up there with the likes of Siskel and Ebert (regardless of what you think of them). He has far cemented himself as a movie legend! Props JJ!
Awesome top 10! Heres mine
1) Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse
2) Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3
3) Talk To Me
4) Scream VI
5) Missing
6) The Super Mario Bros Movie
7) Thanksgiving
8) Transformers Rise of the Beasts
9) Five Nights At Freddies
10) Strays
ATSV is my favorite movie of all time!
I’m sure we’d all love to learn more about you
He did an Q and A video one time. Two part videos.
All 4 John Wick movies are legit incredible: it’s rare for FOUR movies to not suffer from fatigue. I can’t think of many other series like that outside of Toy Story 4
I’d say Toy Story 4 was awful but the first 3 are fantastic
I’d go scream personally.
Mission impossible? If we ignore the second one that is
I do really enjoy the John Wick movies as a whole. Even though the action in the sequels becomes so ridiculous, they are at their core, very good action flicks.
I do not understand the hype with John Wick. The first one was downright boring with action that didnt make any sense. "Nobody" is just a plainly better version of that movie.
Damn it's wild that I've been watching these lists for well over 10 years now. How time flies folks
My favorite movie of the year was Gran Turismo. A movie I did not expect to like. David Harbour’s performance was amazing.
Mission impossible 7??
@@tmtchannel3685MI7 was copy/paste movie... mega disappointment.
@@dicekolev5360 What?! WHAT?! THAT train sequence was the most iconic and thrilling action scene of the year. What are you talking about hahaha. The only bad thing was that the story was unresolved since it was a part 1.
He didn't like guardians 3 based on his original review.
@@jblrules316 really? I'll have to watch that review, bc i didn't like GotG3 either
Great list. Only addition would be Poor Things. Saw it at award screening in early December. Fantastic fun and insane film.
Where are yall finding this Godzilla movie ?? I can’t find it anywhere 😢
