    Thank you Christian and to your father for taking the time in making this video. I have a '05 F150 Lariat with misfire/hesitation issues and your video made the process of removing my injectors much easier. Thanks again

      Christian Macias unfortunately no. Currently replacing the plugs. Pulled them and 7 out of 8 broke!! Ugggggg. Lol

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man. I was about to tell you that! I took it to get done instead because I didn't want to risk it. It cost us 200 dollars to get it fixed by a ford tech

    • @johnmrbartlett
      @johnmrbartlett 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I decided to do it on my own because I knew most if not all the plugs were going to break and the dealer was going to charge me an arm and a leg to replace them. Unfortunately I waited until 128000 miles to replace them. My next door neighbor is a mechanic and one of his good friends is a Ford mechanic so if I run unto any major problems I know I'll be in good hands.

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's quite a bit of mileage ha ha. If i'm not mistaken we replaced the trucks spark plugs at 90,00. We took it to a friend that was a ford technician and he managed to take them out without breaking any. I think at 128,000 it would be impossible to not break any.

    Christian, first of all your dad rocks! I am 43 and still learn things from my dad everyday. Great video and detailed explanation of how everything comes apart, instead of just saying "take this off". I don't know if this is my problem, but at least I know how to tackle it. Thank you and please tell your dad thanks as well!

    I'm trying to fix a ford ranger that is leaking oil from the back of the intake manifold and everything was coming apart nicely until I got to the fuel rail. This video helped me out a lot because everywhere else I read said things like "step 3: disconnect fuel line, step 4: remove fuel rail". Didn't actually say HOW to do it like you explained in your video so I appreciate the info.

    • @cmacia06

      Your welcome! I'm glad we were able to help! Did your truck have a blown gasket?

    • @SchweinDuHund
      @SchweinDuHund 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both of the gaskets between the heads and intake manifold were split in half and the rubber seal in the back was pushed out, but the thing that surprised me was that the 8 bolts that hold the intake to the block were only finger tight. Didn't even need tools to remove them, it was crazy.

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow. That is not good! I ask because the F-150 in the video has a small oil leak as well but its toward the front of the engine and we are tight on time so we haven't has time to check it out. We might do a video when we get to it.

    D Berry Baxter I have a 1999 f150 I had that problem up until today. actually I had to get the ignition coils changed it runs smoothly but I still think I need the fuel injectors changed or cleaned the check engine light is still on though. I hear now it's good to get the coils changed along with a tune up unfortunately I didn't do it that way though .

    good video but it do not help my injectors on my 93 f150 does not spray. fuel pressure good current to the injectors but my question is what pulses the injectors?

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rony Etienne Hello, I believe the F150 injectors are controlled by computer but the computer uses the data from other sensors to decide when and how long to pulse the injector. You should check your other sensors such as the air to fuel ratio sensor or the crank shaft position sensor. If there is a ford tech reading the comments. feel free to leave a reply in regards to the question. :)
      EDIT: I didn't fully read the question. I would test and make sure the injector is working first. They are 12v so you can connect them to the battery voltage for a very short period of time. If you hear them click then they are working.

    •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to make sure you're getting the 12 volt pulse from the engine management computer.... check the leads (wires) that clip to the injectors and make sure you're getting a signal.
      Second, check the resistance on the injector... should be 8-11 ohms.... if it's out, the injector won't open and let the fuel through, whether it's getting a signal or not.

    Baxter DeBerry it's you injection coils I had the same problem it drives good at 70 but when stopped it shakes and when you pulling off it drives badly unfortunately I wasn't able to get the spark plugs changed at the same time because I didn't knw that that was the best way to do it change the coils with the spark plugs. But it drives better know just gotta get my fuel injectors changed or cleaned its still a pain for me right now . Lol

      Zonekiller24 ford has a special way of holding certain lines. I know you need them for replacing the fuel filter. I got them at AutoZone for like 2 bucks and it came with a bunch sizes. I don’t know the name of the tool though 🤷‍♂️

    what year f150 is this?, I have a 98 4.6L, and it was sitting for a year due to family issues and pump, starter went out... we got it running finally but now it runs rought.. we ran seafoam in it, and lucas, although that helped it didn't fix the issue.. its driveable but everytime you give it a little gas it shakes.. even on the road.., weve been able to drive it at 70 no issues..

      Yes! Release pressure and let sit for a day because mystified gas is extremely flammable. As stated in another comment, it's a great idea to have a fire extinguisher handy and never throw water onto a gas flame.

    Cleaning injector this way is useless, pressure from the spray is nothing compare to 40/50Psi from fuel pump. Reverse cleaning is same, potential particles on injector can’t escape because they are trapped in µ-filter basket so they will come back to spray nozzle.
    First, remove injector’s µ-filter basket, then clean the injector while they are operating with small ultrasonic cleaning machine.
    Put new filter basket and o rings and then your good to go.
    If you don’t do that, you spend time cleaning injector for no gain.
    µ-filter baskets are cheap and easy to find on eBay, as well as a small ultrasonic cleaning machine.
    Then you will come back to original performances and improve MPG

  • @highflyer2488

    Great video! Did you replace all of the o-rings? Reason I ask is I noticed the rail and manifold o-rings are different. The rail side (blue) are slightly thicker in all dimensions. If so, where did you find the correct o-rings? I think most of the kits sold online and from ford are one size and I believe are only the rail side rings. Thanks

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      We did not replace any o-rings. Just like you said, the rings do seem to be of a different thickness. As far as finding a kit, your better off asking a Ford technician. They may just sell you the kit cheaper than buying it online.

    • @highflyer2488
      @highflyer2488 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay. I just went ahead and replaced the rail side o-rings since those are the only ones I was able to purchase. I went as far as calling a ford parts seller and they said the parts fiche actually calls out the same part number for top and bottom. So they did not know. Maybe an actual technician would know where to find them.
      But, like you said, they are definitely different sizes. I went as far as using my broken injector that still had good o-rings and attempted to insert it into the manifold with a new fel-pro o-ring and it was very tight. So much that it would have made the fuel rail installation nearly impossible.
      Thanks for the response!

    If you need to just replace one known bad injector, I would guess you do not need to remove the entire assembly, but just unbolt the rail, lift it all up on that one side to access the injector? Would save a lot of work.

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you could do that but you have to keep in mind that it takes some force to pull them out, so you'll need that free space for leverage. Now if the injector is in the back toward the firewall, your going to need to go all the way back there and you would need to remove everything like in the video. To be honest, it didn't take to much time to remove everything probably 10 ~ 15 minutes. It makes it so much easier to work with more space.
