Facts cause some folks don't make it I remember reading about Dorothy from The wizard of Oz and like they say Hollywood was starving her and making her take skinny pills so she won't gain no weight and she couldn't eat as much either
I was able to see Macaulay Culkin a few weeks ago as he toured the movie Home Alone. The best part about it was seeing him and how well he looked after all this time. The audience gave him a standing ovation.
@jasras5003 watched a video where a couple members of the cast said he was difficult to work with. Thought about it and I'm not sure playing Urkel was representative of being a great actor. Did I enjoy the show? Yes.. would he be on my long list of good actors No.. I didn't watch the whole video but I will now guessing there's nothing I've seen. Lots of time nostalgia clouds people's collective memory. Does he seem like a good guy now? Yes but he's not a legendary actor IMO
@@SnoringVids He was definitely hard to work with, but at the same time, he was a great comedic actor and the sole reason the show became a hit. Being a jerk and being a great actor aren't mutually exclusive.
Aww man!! I just LOVED this interview!! The questions were so insightful and need I say, the interviewer shared in my sentiment of almost blushing at the transition between Urkel to Stefan; and she was quite delightful. Shoutout to Jaleel for remaining true to self and his craft. Blessings ♥ 🙏🏾. ~Vernae~
**As a kid I looked forward to T.G.I.F Friday... I never missed an episode and he looks great... Definitely gotta pickup a copy.. May God continue to bless him with much success**
What an inspirational and awesome and humble man. Not very often do child actors make it but he has the faith and hope and confidence to continue to make it. Great interview.
Stefon Urkelle - this man is the reason we all couldn't wait for Fridays to come when we were kids. He's also the reason Family Matters survived because they were about to be canceled till his fateful debut in Season 1. A 🐐 in TV sitcom history period and still a great.
He created one of the most beloved and popular television characters of the 90s. Massive impact on all of us who would crowd around the tv with our families on Friday nights. Much appreciation for his talent and generosity🙏🏽
You just HAD TO BE THERE AND TO BE ALIVE to understand the impact of 8PM TGIF on ABC.... FAMILY MATTERS, BOY MEETS WORD, STEP BY STEP, HANGIN' WITH MR COOPER... I was 10.... a beautiful moment in my childhood! I wish we could go back!
@@integrativenaturalmedicine3897 I was just comparing it to other sitcoms where the actors publicly disliked each other. Look for interviews by the Good Times actors, for instance.

This was a really great interview. Both were respectful, engaged, dynamic, personable, articulate, honest and gracious. I love how you can tell when journalists and actors have had training vs independent journalists and entertainers that cross over from social media. There's no uptalk and vocal fry, which is so refreshing! There's no filler vocab like um or like or you know. My cheeks hurt by the end because I was smiling so big through the whole interview!
I remember watching this episode and went back to school the next day and all my friends were like "Did you see Stephan?? I like Stephan! HAHAHAHA!! Great memories. Bravo to you, Jaleel. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!!
Did you mean "back to school the next school day," since "Family Matters" aired on Fridays, or were you watching in syndication? Funnily enough, the first Stefan episode aired just two weeks before Thanksgiving in 1993.
@Melscomments They really were crushing on one another. Jaleel said it in his book. They were crushing on one another in the 5th season. The Stefan episodes.
He’s really matured, mellowed out and seems more humble than before. I enjoyed following bits of his career. I grew up with Family Matters and made sure my daughter did a.so. Love this guy.
Great book!!! Jaleel is an amazing performer, person and girl dad. Thank you for remaining humble. You had awesome parents and a wholesome upbringing. May God continue to bless he and his family.
We hear so often how child actors "fall off the wagon" and struggle to move into adulthood. It's hard not to admire how Jaleel has not only "kept it all together", but really thrived well beyond Family Matters, and Hollywood, in general.
It was a hit for ALL. But Jay unfortunately there weren’t many shows where the cast or main character looked like my family. And was shown in a positive light. There were lots of shows at the time the depicted the other families around me but not my own like Cosby, Family matters and few others 😊
Great interview and great interviewer. He's been promoting his book, however, each journalist seems to ask the same questions. It was refreshing to listen to this interview. I was prepared to stop in the middle but listened to it all. Well done Laura ❤.
Jaleel is such a good guy. You can just tell. He doesn’t use twitter all that much anymore, but he used to tweet a lot about sports. I’d go back and forth with him about sports topics all the time, and one day after we talked about a baseball game, he followed me back! I definitely want to read his book, I’m sure it’s packed with great stories.
One of the best family shows on TV, still watchable to this day and great family values. Def one of my favs, and it never gets old, same genuine laughter everytime. Great actors.
I loved how he could change and be so many characters. I loved when he did Myrtel Urkel. I've always been boy crazy, but when he became Stefan my sister and I lost our minds! My father was not fond of that. Had our little hearts a flutter! I loved TGI-Friday line ups. I'm glad that Hollyweird didn't traumatize him too much. I can't with the CNN Banner.
One of my cousins got me into that show in 1990 and of course White's performance as the Urkel character is what got my attention. After he explained the Stefan Urquelle role, I have a whole new respect for how he made that work. I also love his work on those Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series that aired on ABC and in syndication. Yesssssss! Yesssssss! AND Yessssssss! I literally left it on that channel all Friday evening!!!!!
Don't forget martin and saved by the bell. Those were not tgif but they were 90 sitcoms that were very popular
I want my childhood TV shows back again on TV.
Same here😊
Family Matters was an amazing tv series. It was family based and taught many great lessons. I'm glad I got to grow up watching shows like that
90s sitcoms were the best, hands down.
FACTS 💯
You ever listen to into music words now? Still so true. It's the bigger ❤ of the Family
I came here to leave the exact same comment. I watched Family Matters every week and thought it was an amazing show.
I agree 110%. The Friday night sitcoms of the late 80's/early 90's were the best
Nice interview. My brother loved that show. Great to see Jaleel looking so well & seemingly doing well, too.

Jaleel white actually turned out alright. I’m glad for him. There have been so many child actors who became seriously damaged adults.
