One of the worst mistakes Nebraska Athletics ever made was firing Pelini. He deserved much more that what the program was willing to give him. National titles and being in the Top 25 every year don’t just happen overnight. I have faith that Matt Rhule will make it happen and be the only results producing HC we’ve had since Pelini 💪
Well get ready then... Because Coach RHULE is bringing toughness back in Spade's, the one thing you can be sure of is that all his teams played tuff as nails. GBR!!!
I remember being a student at the time and was at this game. One of the great games I was able to witness! I remember losing my voice after the Burkhead juke. The Wisconsin game the following season was also an insane game to be apart of.
Great game. Was so mad watching Miller and Co gash for big plays. Then getting hurt and the comeback. Bo was polarizing for sure but he did have a culture and a team. Funny how many put his personal demeanor down, yet bled red more than most fans. 9 win seasons with a few pieces away from conference titles. A lot of history gone by now with the total destruction of the program. Finally, Trev Alberts, the University realizing how close they were to losing the brand and how important it is to Nebraska. Great hire in Matt Rhule. The guy gets it. What it's going to take to get back to competing on a national stage in the B1G. It may take a min, it may take less than expected, but, it will take place. 1:51 Shoutout to Kyle Vandenbosch! I went to college in Sioux Falls, SD (less than an hour from Kyle’s hometown) & one of my college friends was a close high school friend of Kyle’s.
Pelini was very rough around the edges but you can’t tell me if he had the chance the chance to coach as long as Osborne he wouldn’t have broken through at least once.
OSU had a killer gameplan to remove David from the game. But David is just too damn good. His strip tackle is a top 20 play in Husker football history. Mainly BC Neb game back and finished a tough game. Gotta love Burk! This was a tough team.
The wife and I were at that game and I remember the crowd behind the Nebraska Bench Booing Pelini and him gesturing to the drunks who were yelling and cursing at him. While it wasn't the first time we saw his temper get the best of him it was the spark that lit a fire under people who then began a campaign to get him out and sadly we saw how it ended. Don't get me wrong Bo had put together some great teams that under achieved in my opinion but the guy just was not cut out to be placed under the microscope that is Nebraska Football Head Coach.
Adam, I like the new format. This is entertaining and interesting. There is so much commentary and thoughts about Husker football (throwing bones on the Couch), but do you really think Husker fans are going to plow thru them all? We need something more/else/fun. Was this the game or Bo Pelini got angry at the end in the locker room or something and somebody recorded him saying nasty stuff? Because I think some fans left before the game was over?

If pelini wasn't such a jerk we probably would have got some rings...love the direction coach rule is going with this team...we are going to be back

The fans feeling were.burt by the truth. Bo was right. Nebraska was still fear but had some trouble with a coach who had the fire that was needed.
