Thanks for watching. Hornby definitely need to do something about these models. They were fine when they were a reasonable price but now they are just rip offs. I should look at some rainbow railways repaints on higher quality locos. There have been some I’ve considered but just can’t justify the odd £250 they charge for there repainted models atm. I can buy a decent DCC sound loco for less.
I don’t think varnish would help. You can only see where the transfer has been applied when the light hits it at the right angle so it’s not obvious all the time. Still not good though. With today’s technology those transfers could easily be tampo printed
Indeed typical Hornby. There 66 has been fine for a while but it’s just not acceptable anymore at the price they are charging. They either need to upgrade it or scrap it
@@fyfieldjunction or reduce the price tbh, it should also be railroad like the 59. I think around 70 gbp would be a good rrp for this 66 and the railroad boxing

I'm cringing at how obvious the transfers are, not even bothered to varnish over the top 😖
