I always keep my clingfilm (what we call it in the UK) in the fridge. It's probably the best & most game changing tip I ever learnt! ☺️

@EgbertWilliams Same here. After tossing out the last roll, I stopped buying it and began to only store food in containers with covers or in zip-lock style plastic bags. However,, maybe I'll give "press & seal" a try.

It is actually quite easy to wash cling wrap with a bit of dish-washing soap, like washing a soapy washcloth, and it loses its cling just a bit. I started keeping a standard size and reuse it several times. The cheap thin kind is super clingy and really hard to see to separate once it sticks to itself. When that happens I wash it, dry it and use it later. Saran wrap was introduced in 1949, and I am older than that. I never knew in all those years about the end of the box. Sure enough, I checked my box and it has those little circle things. I do not know to be happy or sad. I have a photographic memory and I played back countless times I bought and used those boxes, fought the fights and never knew to poke the little cardboard things. It you do not know to look at something, it is not there.
I will say a little prayer for you every time I use it now.
The slider bags are very easy, but SO expensive. I bought a bag of 200 assorted paper binders for like $10 and use them all over the place to seal things. The "kitchen clips were also getting expansive and way too big. This bag has them from 1/3 to 3 inches. The Internet is so useful but devoting one second to each of the 5 billion pages (about) it would take 158.44 years, working non-stop to glance at it all. I guess the world is always bigger than us. Thank you so much for revealing this longstanding mystery of the universe.

I just ordered a food vacuum sealer last week, because I told myself I could not wrestle one more time with Cling Wrap !! It makes my hair stand on end I get so totally frustrated with it, so your tip today, really was a game changer !! Who knew?? We all wished at some point somebody would invent a plastic wrap that didn't drive you to insanity, but that never happened, so your ''helpful hint" just simply overwhelmed me !! Something that simple but nobody I know knew about it. Thank you soooooo much. You earned a new subscriber because of it !!!!

I started buying the large box of cling wrap (305 m) years ago and will never go back to those annoying small boxes again. It has a slide cutter and the end is always there. No waste and no annoyance. Best of all there's so much of it I only have to purchase it maybe once a year.

I believe they changed the formula of the plastic in the late 90's because it was found to be carcinogenic. The old stuff was way better but carried a health risk (always seems to be the way). The only advantage of keeping it in the freezer might be to cause condensation on it, but plastic film that thin would warm to ambient temperature instantly anyway and the super thin film of water would evaporate instantly too. However, leaving it in the freezer of a self defrosting fridge for a long period (say months) might cause ice to gradually seep in between the layers because every defrosting cycle will cause condensation to melt, wick in, then freeze again.
By the way - that engagement ring!

keep the tube in the box when you are pushing in the 2 side tabs. the tube helps keep pressure on the box side and it won't fall apart

Hi Andrea, have you read any Shannon Lush books (they were best sellers in Australia). Shes Australian with a science background who has worked in restoration of old valuable pieces putting her scientific knowledge to work. I came to know about her through a really popular call in radio show here on ABC where people called in with their stain and house cleaning dilemmas. Watching your videos reminds me of her.

  • @ronaross1

Hi - I found your video because those side tabs are not designed properly. You can’t push them in from the sides because the inner cardboard is not scored. Yes, the box falls apart, not your fault, and I use scissors to cut away the cardboard and shipping tape to put the box together again. I will not buy Glad again because of this. Thanks for the video.

Filming in the bathroom didn't bother me--what did was referring to the cheaper wrap as "hood wrap," even if you did grow up "in the hood." It's still racist. I know you probably did not mean ANYTHING by this, but we have to start somewhere.
