- The Lectric XP has been one of my favorite eBikes. Amazing cost-vs-performance. Lectric has now updated the XP as XP 2.0. This update comes with new a new tire size, suspension fork, and numerous other improvements. Is this a step forward or a step a mistake?

The best overview of the 2.0 yet. Thanks for all of the great detail.
This new version is pretty fun! I just passed 100 miles on mine and it's a pretty cool folding ebike for under $1000. I like that it comes with lights, a rear rack, fenders, and a little front suspension shock. Fits in the Jeep folded up with my other full-sized ebike. I've been putting it through its paces :)
I just finished ordering 2 bikes for me and my wife. Can't wait till they arrive. I am casual bike rider, I ride on paved trails. I just turned 49 this year and my knees have been definitely feeling it. I will not give up my regular bike just yet, but these look like fun. Thanks Kev for your insights
My bike got here saturday a week a go. Have 106 miles on it so far. I am blown away by this bike.
This gave me even more confidence I made the right decision going for the upgrade. The waiting is the hardest part..
I've been waiting since March 24. You?
@@GhanjaLounge March 30th
@@larryinfl80 They should've shipped yours by now.
@@thetruthhurts599 the upgrade xp 2.0 says 5 weeks after the 18th so I don't think so..
@@sshaw760 people thought I was messing around. SEE, 7 weeks my butt. It's more like 7 months.
I appreciate that Lectric is putting in the time and money to make their e-bikes even better.
Me too! And I like that they didn’t just dump 1.0 leftovers on customers that had preordered them. That gave them the option to upgrade
Meh, higher weight, slightly lower capacity battery, not as beefy frame, narrower tires. A 2.0 wasn't really necessary except for fad marketing to the short attention span smartphone types.
Also a front suspension on a bike like this is dumb and reduces efficiency. Trying too much to be trendy.
This is not lectrics bike. Multiple companies sell this same bike. Lectric merely buys the parts paints them and assembles them. Read what I just wrote it’s a scam. I have seen this same bike dawn different logos of at least 3 different brands. Obviously lectric markets successfully Hence the business marketing degree the owner claims to have. Nothing great about lectric they merely assemble these parts a Chinese company I’m assuming designed and sells to them.
What are the 3 bikes that are identical?
There's no xps left just newgen
Put 1800 miles in los Angeles and I Survived!!
So did bike ,just replaced break cable no problems
So glad to see you show stuff others missed that SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN such as.... showing how to fold it, talking about 1.0 vs 2.0 differences, showing the controls, showing the battery, shwoping the parts and where they get them to show theyre from reputable brands such as Shimano/5 star.... and also showing the power modes and how they work
I got the upgrade yesterday. Another 5 weeks wait. I have my Ancheer 26" to ride and after 2 years it has never let me down. Huge thanks Kev I would not have known about these bikes without you. I'm going riding!
I think you’ll be amazed how much more power this has than the Ancheer.
Well done again Kev. A lot of information, quickly and cleanly packed into this video. I had my 1.0 on order and they asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the 2.0. I was hesitant, but the suspension and wider handlebars were addressed, and I did it. This video cemented my decision, and I cannot wait to get my 2.0
I bought my XP 1.0 a few months ago love it bought my sister one she upgraded 2.0 can't wait to receive
I was one of the ones that elected to upgrade from a delayed 1.0 XP to a 2.0 Step Thru. Glad to see the review and to hear that the suspension and tire differences are noticeable.
Threw the extra 50 bucks at the upgrade even though this was supposed to be my delivery week! That was the hardest part, because they said on the website "within 4 weeks" for the 2.0 delivery. No word from Lectric on where that puts me in the que yet, but it seems they just inform folks once the shipping order has been placed.
Nice review Kev. Thanks. Lectric is not very detail oriented on their website. They actually completely leave out a serious portion of what you picked up on. Good job!
I’m in the same boat as you. Can’t wait!!!
Like you,my initial order of the 1.0 was listed as a 4 week processing which it had already been. No word at that point, and was for me to inquire about. On their end, come to find out,a port of entry debacle;bottle neck, and hold up had occured. This being what they themselves required in shipments of supply, for their own
production. From March 26th of the initial order,May 10th was assessed as to when my order would be in their facility- warehouse, not sure which, but another 7 to 10 days was added to that for the processing yet remaining.Either for assembling,or if already having been so,and boxed, and on a warehouse shelf; waiting on a shipping label, correlating with a trucking company for pickup, and delivery.(I suspect availability, and scheduling on that end of it could be problematic to some degree, These happenstances, and no less the volume of orders accumulated are given a best guess calendar timeframe to the orders at hand, and what's feasible, and in keeping to an outlook
having variables attached to it.
The 2.0 upgrade offer for $50.00,I didn't want to pass up,and at the time, and the model ordered, within 2 weeks was being offered. All other models were at an extended timeframe. 2 weeks tomorrow since the upgrade offer i accepted, but until it gets a shipping label,
my line of questioning
most likely will solicit a timeframe their looking at,if my order is sitting on a shelf. If that end of it is peppered in uncertainty, then I'll at least know were the problem lies. Scheduled pickups of what gets delivered,or where in line that falls to be coordinated, should be ascertainable from shipping, and receiving,
as to how it looks. I have my order # that would have to coincide
with a truck scheduled for a pickup, and when.
Averaging 8 to 12 weeks is the best I can gather.
I originally ordered my 1.0 ST back on March 23rd. I jumped for the 2.0 as soon as it was announced. Yesterday, I got an email stating a shipping label had been printed. I might actually have somethin in hand before the end of June.
@@brucehatch7388 I ordered about the same time and they created the Fed Ex shipping order on Tuesday, but it's not even on the truck yet, just sitting in the warehouse still. I'll be lucky to see it next week if it gets on the truck today since I am 2500 miles from Phoenix. At least we have some information for a change. Fingers crossed we get 'em soon.
I’ve literally gotten hundreds of ads for this bike in TH-cam and even google I think they are really tryin get me
😂
Thats why Apple added a new privacy feature and sued Facebook for voiding that because of targeted ads
Adblock will cure that.
Yeah because I was looking at a Mitsubishi mirage because it looked cool and TH-cam showed me an ad of it ....google is watching us
Takes 4 months to get your order at a minimum.
I test drove my brother's Lectric 1.0 and loved it such a cheap mode of transportation. I went 20 miles and didn't even use half the energy bar up on a single charge. It's great!
I am really impressed by all the reviews I've seen about this company. I'm definitely going to get this e-bike based on your review. Thanks for being so thorough with your review.
My husband just order 1 ebike for me last night ,and can't wait till get get here ,I'm am 60 and so happy about the bike
And some jerks on you tube were predicting this was gonna flop. Boy are they wrong, if anything they'll sell even more than the previous model cause they made important improvements w/o going over the magical $1000 price point.
If they stop offering 4.0 tires it'll be a huge mistake, that's why it's going to flop. With a 3.0 street tires it's a pavement princess, which is okay if that's what you want. But I don't think that's going to appeal to the majority as much.
I think the XP 2.0 sales will probably prove you right. Not only did they keep under "the magical $1000 price point" but, at a time when other companies are just raising prices by $100 or more on the same old bikes, Lectric also improved their bikes.
@edwong3 we're going to have to agree to disagree on the tire size, besides good luck finding replacements,
@edwong3 what experts,! lol, I'm a mountain bike so the bike is not for me, but if you want to ride solely on pavement then maybe that's a good bike for you. I like to go places on my bicycle that I can't get to on anything else, and that's not the bike to do that on.
@edwong3 and the 3.0 Is not A new concept it's been around for awhile, never became popular for a reason
Love your reviews. Just got my wife’s 2.0 step through Friday. I found if you put a plastic coffee can under the stand by the sprocket, you can unlock and turn the front wheel and pivot pivot the front. Your able to access the battery and turn the key without having to hold up the bike. Less chance of dropping the battery. The other way you kind of need three hands. Please share. Good for people with bad or sore backs or like me older. Thanks Boston Mike
Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your new XP
I just purchased mine and I can’t wait to get it!! This was a great review. I was excited to watch a video that wasn’t 95% scenery while riding and 5% information at the end. This was 100% information and all of it very good, informative and useful. Thank you.
Did you get yours yet? If so how do you like it ?
I noticed you did this review one year ago and wondered how you feel about the Letric XP 2.0 still at this time? Thanks for your great videos.
It was the best entry level e-bike available before upgrades. (I say this as a DIY & mid-drive devotee). The upgrades have made it more user friendly to a wider audience. Still the best bang for buck (pre-fab) e-bike available even at $999.
you obviously havent ridden a engwe 750 watt ...way more power and torque 12.8ah lg battery.....ride both side by side engwe kills xp
@@rochrides8730 True enough. I decided in 2016 to go DIY mid-drive and haven't looked back (for street legal, hubs just can't compare to the 750 watt BBS02). Research taught me that no entry level pre-fab would cut it for me.
@@rochrides8730
Yeah, but not under $1G, so not a fair comparison.
Thank you KEV, i almost bought a 1.0 then this came out and was like wow. so i will be ordering the 2.0. i am 54 already bad knees heart etc and need something that will let me have fun and not regret.
Probably the best folding electric bike out there 🤘
I was waiting for your review and I told all my You tube pals to watch your video for the most thorough and honest review online.
Thanks 👍🏼 I hope the info helped you out
@@KevCentral Yes if i was shopping for an ebike now, this one would be on top of my list
I have owned the original 1.0 for 6 months now and couldn’t be happier,or could I? After watching the new 2.0 videos I think it’s time for me to jump on board,it’s,with the new upgrades which also add to a longer battery life with a much smoother ride, still under the 1000 mark ,makes for a deal I can’t resist.
Only downfall is the wait time to get one delivered to Canada,my 1.0 was over a three month wait..ahh the excitement of waiting is well worth it.
Best review of any ebike I've ever seen - quick, informative, to the point, and covered all the bases - and incredibly good quality, clear video shots (and stabilized I notice).
My friend, you should do a tutorial video on how to make tutorial videos - and you Tube would be a happier world! Cheers, probably going to buy this unit.
Ha! Thanks
Thanks for the review Kev, just ordered mine today!
I believe that the “bottle cage mount” is actually a mount for the optional lock.
Porque se torna tão caro essa bike, e faz um preço mais acessível para que muitos possam comprar.
Yup
Well organized and presented. Love the voice inflection and enthusiasm you put into this review. Lots of usable information. I ordered a black and a white step thru after watching this video. On. A future video I believe you could help viewers if you cover information enabling upgrades.. I researched the dimensions required to add a sun tour 30.6 mm diameter, 400 mm long suspension post. It took a few conversations with Lectric to find out it would work.
Waiting on mine, took advantage of the upgrade offer and man am I glad I did.
Fan of my Lectric 1.0. I am up to 880 miles since I got it last June. My one-year anniversary is coming up shortly.
I’ve been waiting for my XP to ship for 2 months and just got a shipping date 👍
if ur not close to arizona its gona take a while haha
Awesome!! Hoping to see an email myself telling me that very soon!!
Just wondering if they offered you the 2.0 since your eBike had not shipped before you posted this comment.
@@nahnisjourney1406 yes I was offered a 2.0 upgrade since my original xp bike hasn’t shipped and I also was offered 20% on 2.0 accessories which I took advantage of
Ours was never shipped out yet so be careful when you order this
Getting my 2.0 today... first E Bike very excited... great detail on the overview... I learned a few new tips. Thank you
Great review! On the 13th of May I upgraded my Lectric Step-Thru 1.0 order to the 2.0! Sure am looking forward to it finally getting here!
OH MY GOODNESS! This ebikes is everything and more. I love Lectric ebikes, so much that I want one of their Step-Thru’s. Been trying to get Kevin to pass me his Step-Thru, but he loves all his Lectrics ebikes. But maybe one day I can get one!
Way to go Lectric and team, another great ebike, along with in my opinion one of the BEST BIKE REVIEWERS on TH-cam! Not just saying that because Kevin is a really good personal friend, but he really shows all the details and the changes. Plus he cares, by saying he cares, he’s putting in extra time on his videos, his editing and cameras to make sure, he shows all the details. So I’ll give Lectric XP 2.0 10 out of 10 and Kev a 10 out of 10.
Most of you all know me by now, and make sure, that you give Kev a Thumbs UP, and like, share and comment. Y’all take care and get me a Lectric Step-Thru! Hehe.
Nice! Just ordered one and a BMX Handlebar, can’t wait, 👊🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
@@ayo30s I’m curious how it turned out…
Great review, Kevin! If I get a second e-bike, it could very well be this one (just have to hide it from the wife!). I like what it gives you for the money.
Very helpful. Seeing the key inserted finally made clear to me that I have to ride with in the battery!
Bought one today. Could not get the old kevcentral discount/free bag to work but no big deal. If you buy, give Kev a thumbs up when they ask you how you got to the web site. Bob Jarrard
Thanks and congrats
Great review as always. I watched your review back in 2019 on the original 1.0 and it helped me to make the decision to purchase 2 XPs back then for my wife and me.
I love my XP Step-thru and wouldn't trade it for many of the bikes at nearly twice the price. That being said, those shocks would be nice sometimes. The thinner tires...well they probably in truth probably ride a little better, but I don't think they look nearly as cool as my fat tires. If your on the fence and thinking about getting one and don't want to spend a lot of money, then this is the bike for you.
Fantastic review!! So informative and I loved all of your comparisons in real time to the 1.0 / prototype bike you had. I learned more from your video than from the manufacturer website. I think I am going to buy this bike now!
Thanks KC. You have verified all that I expected from 2.0. Keep up the good vids.
As always, excellent review Kev!
Very smart of Lectric to get you a 2.0 so quickly as you are the TH-cam go to authority on all bikes.
Waiting on mines now order the 1.0 on the 13th then got a email saying I can pay $50 to upgrade to the 2.0. Just can’t wait for my first ride
I hope you have as much fun as I have on the 2.0
I wish I could have had the option of the upgrade. That would have been so awesome. But I still like the 1.0
@@Uke4Jesus yea I wasn’t going to do it but I saw the video and just had to upgrade
Mines?
@Jamel Deloach, did you receive your bike yet? I live in North Central Florida and I'm trying to get an understanding from the comments section of the wait time of how long will it take to ship here.
Looks a nice bike to try out. i also like in your videos its clean no litter and looks so peaceful, i like also how people are not around and the boats on the water. i also had a seat like that wide seat with springs underneath, some come with lights also at the back or a reflective strip. it was good but wide seat comfortable but got in the way of going fast as legs rub the seat when going fast as seat is bit wider than the thinner ones. It also i thought got rid of the sporty look of the bike by this wide saddle in place. I remember going into a local bike shop Decathlon where they do my bike upgrades and the staff member who works on the bikesat the time said when he saw the seat whats that with a smile lol. These seats i think would be good for hard tails as it adds suspension on the back of the bike when riding.
I also found the wider seat less comfortable.
I’m really starting to think this Letric XP is what I’m going to buy…I have been watching your videos and other trying to figure out the best ebike for my wife and I…mind boggling choices.
My only dislike here is the key under the frame…seems like it would’ve been better in the top rather than the bottom…obviously not at all would be the best. I’m sure it won’t fall out or anything but still…I would consider putting some kind of elastic keychain/leash on mine in case it somehow did fall out!
excellent review, thanks. we scheduled a test drive this week to cement our purchase
Just got my 2.0 today. It also included a flat rear tire. I'm impressed
It’s common for companies to ship bikes with little or no air on the tires. That helps keep the tires from pressing up against other components during shipment. Congrats on the new bike
@@KevCentral really? I this isn't my first rodeo. What I don't expect is flat tires out of the gate. F. Lectric and the lawyers that will be coming
Drive down the road and all of a sudden, flat tire. How's that work for NASCAR
Great detailed video. Ordered one up on June sixth. Got the lock that mounts on the frame and the lectric branded mirrors coming. The seat looks fine for me. Going to hold off on any more accessories until I get the bike. I like your style, I subscribed!😎
If I lived in city I would totally buy one of these to commute
I ordered mine last week can't wait til it arrives!
I love my XP, had it for a year and a half but gosh darn-it this looks pretty sweet.
This is Friday my 2.0 is scheduled for arrival at my house on Monday. I think I might be more excited than a kid about to get a new toy. Especially after watching this review 👍🏻
I’d rock a bike like that. Great if you have a small place.
Edit: I’m not gonna lie, I cackled at the larger saddle.
Just saw a review f the bike by new owners. So there is hope mine will be shipped soon.
2.0 has everything I what for a bike at it's price point. Almost a masterpiece. I think I will swap out the front suspension fork to a rigid fork in the future. Still exciting nonetheless.
The bosses on the back of the seat stay are for a battery mount used by other companies that use an external battery. Lectric isn't the actual manufacturer of any of the components of the bike; They just spec and assemble them. I will probably end up buying the mounting needed and adding a secondary battery, either to extend the range or to run a front hub motor.
Maybe you can do side by side comparison against all the ebikes may not be fair but would be interesting to see the pro and cons against each other.
They take so long because they come from China.
Awesome review! I love my 4.0 tires. They do wonders in the snow. I do want that suspension fork though
Just ordered mine. Will go under my bed in my van camper I'm building. Great ful that I put off buying it for so long that it's now upgraded.
I'm getting mine for Christmas. I can't wait
Great information ..... Thanks! Mine should arrive in about 5 weeks. I cannot wait for my first spin!
I think that in a couple of years we'll see a Lectric XP 3.0...which might have, let's say, 80-100mm of rear suspension, 100mm or front suspension, hydraulic disk brakes, maybe a "normal" MTB frame? I think that would be really cool, I hope Lectric is listening!
Well they sort of granted your wish haha, they just released a premium
I'm gonna have to buy one now.
Wife's gonna kill me... 😆
Not unless you get her one as well. But do get the step-thru for her.
I 2.GO(T) one today.. Ordered it I should say. This will be my first e-bike. Can't wait.
Lectric contacted me a week ago and since I ordered the original 1.0 2 weeks ago they asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the 2.0 for another $50. I jumped all over it but now did I loose the first 2 weeks and start all over again at 7 weeks to ship ? I'm sure it will be worth it. Love the video's
I'm in the same boat. I'm starting to think it's a myth. Maybe we could form a group, sing camp fire songs & convince each other our bikes will ship soon. Bwwaaahhhaa :)
I’ll bring the s’mores lol
Thanks for sharing your video review 2.Go XP lectric ebike.
Very interesting ,informative and helpful video!
If it hasn't been said already, I think that the hidden bottle cage mount looks more like a spot to mount a bike lock like an Abus or Foldylock.
It is, but I’ve already got a proof of concept water bottle mounted-ish 😁
Awesome review! Definitely going to be getting the XP 2.0. Thanks!
Ayy you got 100k, haven't watched one of your videos in a few, but congrats on 100k subs.
Excellent fast paced review
I can't wait for my bike. Does the charger charge itself as well so I can take more juice with me on the road??
Are you asking if the charger holds power when unplugged? If so, the answer is no
Thank you. Now do they sell something like that for the bike separately?
A spare backup battery would be the first thing that comes to mind
Price on a spare? Hate to bore you with this 😒
My only real complaint about the original XP was the handlebar stem being too tall even with the bars all the way down. I like the folding stem on the Aventon sinch better because it is shorter. Is the stem the same on 2.0 as the 1.0? Great review and defiantly need more follow up vids on the 2.0!
I am curious about the handlebars height myself. I couldn't get the bars low enough.
The 20x3 fat tires are perfect it’s not too small and not 2 big so it works like the perfect middle ground
Just in from Lectric, bikes with order# 65,000 & below will be shipped week of July 5th. #65,000 & up week of the 12th. They have the bikes, Fed ex don't have enough trucks. Don't blame the driver! it's NOT his fault.

Love it Kev
Excellent review. Well done.
Love the sofa seat!
Nice summary and overview!
Agree that this is best overview of the 2.0 by far!
Great review.
how did you mount the gopro for the shot at 7:32? looks nice.
I own an xp, and my biggest problem with it is still not addressed. Locking it up is insanely wonky due to the frame design. I'm forced to use a chain as a u lock is mostly out of the question. The step thru solves this problem with its rear triangle frame but not everyone wants a step thru. Anywho! Thanks for the video Kev great job.
What about the carry handle. If I needed to lock it that’s where I would route my lock
@@KevCentral that's fine for a quick stop but not if you're going to be away for any meaningful amount of time. It can be snipped with bolt cutters, it's the weakest part of the frame.
I hear you man. I keep a four foot chain thru my bike seat at all times and inside a milk crate on the back. I can chain up to most poles, etc. And I use my U lock to secure the beanpole stem. Otherwise I use the U lock for the rear tire; imagine someone popping a reverse wheelie down the street trying to steal your bike.
Dang, how in the world am I going to decide which bike to get, there are so many great ones out there. Great video!
Great review! One of the best! Cant wait for mine to arrive!
I'm looking forward to more videos. This one is very informative as are all you do. Anxious to hear what you have to say about the "lounger" seat. Lol
This is my Best Buy!!!!
Another great review!
Thanks 👍🏼
I have over 500 miles on my bike now, & I just love it so. I have over 300.00 in upgrades.
I just got my 1.0 a week or so ago. I love it, but love the looks of this one too. I may sell it and order the 2.0
I love mine! I got the step thru.
Looks like they did a nice job hitting the price point here.
I have to wonder what the rim width is and how many options are both available and fit. I have to imagine most of the bikes will find the most use on pavement\gravel with many wanting a smoother ride.
A heavy 20" bike is going to have some serious challenges on a mountain bike trail beyond rail trails and tow paths going over obstacles and the additional off road traction find with a side of brrrrrrrrrttrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr on pavement that many users would prefer to trade off for tires designed to grip pavement better.
The beefy rack and mounts are always welcome.
I have a (26") fat bike and love it, but if I had sell off one bike it would be the first to go. Fun off-road and in snow, but handles like a stubborn pig on the road going the trails, with the air down in the tires pavement over twenty mph gets very sketchy.
I can't imagine 3" not being better than 4" unless the rider is looking for a hunting bike that needs the massive traction.
I have a 2.0 and messed with the specs and got it to go 29MPH on just throttle only and with PAS 5 i got it over 35mph. Drains the battery tho. So i slow it down back to 20MPH for a longer range
How does that work ? Any video suggestions on that
How do u do it?
Best review of the bike. I'm sold. Any review on the optional seat/seat suspension upgrade?
Well explained! Is the upgrade seat wider than the popular cloud9 ?
Is the updated folding shot correct? Nothing looks like it folds in the shot. Folding stand looks like it's at 5:03
Now I understand. The "updated folding stand " that you're talking about is referencing the bike folding, not the stand. Sorry for any confusion.
BTW- can't leave without mentioning what an outstanding review this is. Kudos.
Hi! We just bought the white step through! I pray the shipping isn't any longer than the suggested 6 weeks! Lol
Thanks for the education.
