Dominic Holland is actually the Dad of Tom Holland who plays Spider-man in all the recent Marvel Films in cluding the Avengers ones.

Didn't the Greek guy run from Marathon (where the Greeks defeated the Persian invasion) to Athens and not Sparta?

Pheidippedes ran from Athens to Sparta to request support against the Persians. Another herald ran the return journey to announce the victory, and it was he who dropped dead. It is the latter journey the Olympics based the event.

There are two legends/accounts and we don't know which one is true. Herodotos says it's the asking Sparta for help and there is a mountain between Marathon and Athens so unless they dug a tunnel prior, he would have had to run around it.

@eatmywords Not so. According to the only classical source, Lucian, Pheidippides is said to have run from Marathon to Athens to deliver news to the magistrates of the victory in the battle at Marathon. And when he delivered the news, he dropped dead. (Lucian. 2nd century CE. _A Slip of the Tongue in Greeting._ )
