    What a lovely hotel. We visited Llandudno last year because my grandparents honeymooned there in 1938 and we just loved the place, I think it's a bit of a hidden gem 😊

    Lovely video, I'm a local runner and a lot of local runners race the tram up to the summit, which is actually easier than it sounds because of the tram having to stop half way, there's also some lovely walks around the Orme, you can do a loop around the sheep farm covering the summit plateau which only takes half an house and has amazing views, the goats are famous and were on national news during Covid as they started coming down and wandering around the empty streets during lockdown. Bara Brith is so moist because you simmer all the dry fruit in tea for half an hour before cooling it down to add the flour, I love making it and add dates and prunes too which make it even tastier, we always put butter on it in Wales, we love butter! 😁 You should head down to Llanberis and catch the train up to the summit of Snowdon, that would make an awesome video! Llandudno has 2 beaches, you were on North Shore which is a pebble beach but West Shore beach which is the opposite direction from your hotel is the better beach, it's sandy and is also part of the Conwy estuary so the tide goes out a very long way. Another seaside resort in North Wales known for being extremely beautiful is Portmeirion, it was styled on the Italian village of Portofino and is simply breath-taking!

      So many great insights mark! We definitely need to be more active and go on different trails next time because only then you'll see the real beauty of the place + all the endorphins will boost our excitement for sure 🙌 Would love to explore more of Conwy, so thank you very much for all them recommendations!!!
      Bara Brith with butter was 😮‍💨 It's really worth the drive to Wales! *Another great reason to visit haha

    Nobody cares about how you pronounce Llandudno, unless they are so uneducated and never leave Wales! This was a fantastic vlog. What a lovely couple and you showed the area off to the best advantage! Thank you for showing us things we haven’t done whilst living here for 13 years.

    Its pronounced ClanDIDno x I love this place!! We have holidayed in Anglesey since 2018/9. Always drop into Llandudno to break the journey up and we stay for a week to ten days to break up the school holidays. Bara Brith is a fruit loaf with cinnamon, beautiful stuff!!! Llandudno is a beautiful example of how the Victorians did it. They discovered how a trip to the Seaside after a hard week at work literally worked wonders for your well-being. There is so many wonderful things about Llandudno. Tram cars up the Great Orme, Cable Cars also. A toboggan ride and crazy golf course. The pier which is full of amusements. It really is such a wonderful place.

      We tried so hard to pronounce it 100% correctly and kept repeating it (hopefully only slightly) differently 😂 We absolutely loved every minute we spent there and honestly, it has become our favourite UK seaside resort we've been to so far! There's still a magical atmosphere of pure relaxation so we have found it to be the perfect place to unwind 🌊 We would love to be able to return soon!
      BARA BIRTH 🤎🍇🍞 Worth a trip to Wales!!!

      It's easier to say Clandidno if you're not Welsh and it's very nearly right, but listen very carefully next time you hear a Welsh person say it and you'll notice it's subtly different and not Clan at all, it's a different sound which doesn't exist in English and hard to describe, you need to put you tongue in the roof of you mouth to make the sound.

    • @philjones45
      @philjones45 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@markjones127 NO it isn't right and I wish the English would stop spreading this myth. Welsh is the oldest language on these islands, just learn to pronounce Welsh place names, they're really not that difficult. If you holiday here then have some respect!!

    • @markjones127
      @markjones127 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@philjones45 The trouble is Phil using your RUDE approach no one ever listens and nothing ever changes, and us Welsh people simply aren't rude by nature, all we're talking about is the pronunciation of a word, it's no excuse to be aggressively rude to anyone.

    Now watched most of the video and I could just wax lyrical about Llandudno. As I said earlier, it has always been a wonderful option for us to stopover enroute to Anglesey. I even took my 2 boys here for a Dad n Lads day out where we also went on the cable cars to get up the Great Orme but they were closed for our journey back so we had to do the tram car down, which was perfect really. A great view on both journeys. We also did the toboggan ride and crazy golf at the Ski and Snowboard Centre. We also went on the pier and into those amusements, Guy Martin has a video here on youtube on his time helping to maintain the tram car system and also the Victorian Pier, definitely worth a watch!
    Not far from where you had the coffee shop stopover, I'm not sure if it was this street, is Mostyn Street where there is an amazing ice cream Parlour nearer the promenade end called The Looking Glass. Worth dropping in there too!
    On our first visit I took my kids into the Rock Shop opposite The Looking Glass for their first visit.
    This place is so wonderful, we keep going back every year!

    Llandudno is really special. I love it.
    The local authorities there really need to take control of the cable car, and combine it with the Tramway company - it doesn't make sense that they aren't connected in some way. The cable car is understandably prone to weather conditions, but there's no information sharing with the Tramway as to whether they are running or not until you get to the cable car station at either end.
    As for the "competition" argument - plenty of people would not want to take the cable car and would rather take the tram, it's not an issue.

    • @JayandKarolina
      @JayandKarolina  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It truly is Phil :) We were so surprised spotting both price lists because it's quite apparent that them companies don't cooperate which is a shame. It would have been so much easier to understand all the transportation links if they were combined into one!

    My wife and I love Llandudno, its one of our favourite places. We often use it as a central place to go visiting. We love the nearby seaside town of Rhos-on-Sea which has a large golden sandy beach, we often go to the Welsh Mountain Zoo, go for a walk up the Little Orme as well as the Great Orme, the west shore has a nice beach. If we're feeling good we sometimes do the full walk, about 4 miles, along the coast road around the Great Orme and visit the cafe part way round called "Rest and be Thankful". You can also stay at the lighthouse on the side of the Great Orme,just off the coast road - its a lovely place to stay. My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights for our wedding anniversary a few years ago. Plenty of other places to visit such as Conwy, with its grand castle, Anglesey, Gwrych Castle near Abergele. A lovely region to explore.

      @@lou7878 there is nothing pathetic about my comment at all what we are talking about here is cultural hegemony - the English have invaded Wales and forced their pronunciations and spellings of Welsh place names on the Welsh in historically recent times they have tried to destroy the Welsh language and punished children for speaking it - now if we heard in modern times about a dominant country invading another and refusing to allow the citizens of that country to speak their own language - well the whole world would be up in arms - those vloggers treat pronouncing Welsh place names correctly as a joke - but they could learn the correct pronounciation in about 5 minutes - the Welsh language is not a joke
