I just came across your blog and videos today. So, I was raised So. Baptist and was taught that Hell is a very literal place that Satan rules over. I was taught the Lake of Fire. Hell is the one area of my Christian life that I fear and am always afraid that I’m going to. So by watching this video, it was not really addressed as to what happens to your soul when you die if you do not go to Heaven (the New Jerusalem which we know will be here on earth that God will make new). Where do you go when you die? Do you just die and that’s it? Because if that’s all that happens then it seems there’s no real consequence to sin. Torment here on earth doesn’t really seem like much of a punishment as it would seem that we are all living in Hell in today’s day and age. Hopefully, I’m making sense. It’s after 9 p.m. here while I’m watching your videos and my brain is probably a little tired. I think most churches don’t preach about Hell enough in today’s day and age. No one seems to fear it any longer.
One good explanation of this scripture I’ve read/researched is that the opposite of life is death(ending). Punishment is a penalty. The penalty for not wanting a relationship with God is everlasting separation/death. Punishment does not equal torment. God is a loving God and wants us to choose to be with Him. God bless you sister, I hope this helped your understanding of the word, it did for me!
I have been going back and forth about what I believe about hell. I have watched a lot of NDE (near death experiences) videos and every single person talks about void, never about “hell” or fire. So I wondered, is the hell I was taught really somewhere/something that exists? So glad I watched this video because it actually supports what I have been feeling in my heart about God and about hell. True hell is separation from pure love, which is God.
I agree with you completely, Fear is not the way of God. A true institution of God, does not create animosity, doubt, fear, and validation in its members. Hell as depicted today is a post year 1700 fan fiction.
Mathew 10:28 a place where your "soul and body" are DESTROYED and Mark 9:43 "unquenchable fire". This sounds totally different than being separated from God. On a lighter note satan told Jesus not to send him to the great abyss. You definition of abyss?
This video in some way or another, seems to be sugarcoating the reality of hell as only a place of separation from God which is then portrayed as the real torture as allegedly the result of your own choice. This to my mind contains half-truths. Yes, it is one's own choice when your back is turned on God, yes, it is separation from God, BUT it is also clearly depicted as a place of eternal torment where there will be chewing of tongues in pain, and the gnashing of teeth in an eternal hell fire! Isn't it?
This aligns with what Carl Jung said about not dealing and conquering their shadow self! If you don’t deal with your inner demons , recognize them, and don’t subdue them , then they will take you over and you will be consumed by your own ego through destructive behaviors. Very interesting! And thanks for trying to look at what religion is actually trying to teach! I’m not religious at all and I recognize these ideas! And so do many other religions and modalities! We all strive towards the same goal we just have different names for it!
Rom6: For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. Isn’t it better to just quote Jesus’ words? For example in Matthew 25:46, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:41, Mark 9:48, Matthew 5:22, Matthew 23:33, Matthew 23:14, Mark 12:40, Luke 20:47, Luke 12:5, etc. Thats part of the gospel, truth. Jesus’ words aren’t written to makes us feel something, but to save us or condemn us. Thats why the Lord Jesus Christ says in Revelation 3:19-22 ... ... “As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.” Jesus of Nazaret is the life and the resurrection, repent and trust in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Nowhere in the dead Sea scrolls mentioned the word hell Revelation 20:10 says and the devil who lead them astray was thrown into the Lake of Fire and sulfur where the Beast and the false prophet are and they shall be tortured day and night forever and ever that same sulfur and fire will be used also as it says in Revelation 20:14 and death and the grave will be thrown into the Lake of Fire this is the second death according to the scriptures those who do not follow God's purpose they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire where Satan is being tortured and those people will be destroyed
Thanks for the video, but I don’t think you did a good job showing that a loving God would send people to hell. You are being dishonest when you say that it is a choice, because nobody would choose it if they actually believed in it.
A loving God woudl not force people to be with him. Love requires choice. It cannot be forced. It's not God "sending" people to hell, it's people choosing life apart from Him. A loving God would not, and could not, force people to spend eternity with him. Just like one cannot force someone to marry them. Love requires choose and cannot be forced. Even when it might be in their best interest. Hell is simply eternity apart from God. It's a place where those who choose not to follow God will get what they want. It's not a torture chamber or any of the pictures that are common in culture. Those are not found in the Bible. The Bible describes hell as a place of torment. The torment is not because there's an outside force (God or the devil) that causes pain. It's internal, it comes from their choices. The Bible doesn't tell us all the details. But it does indicate that everyone has the decision to make and God will honor those decisions. To say no one would choose that is not an accurate assumption. Just look around the world, people choose to live in the "hells" on earth all the time. Why would eternity be any different?
@@RethinkwithJefferyPoor I want to say we are pretty close in agreement, but I cannot respect to God puts people in eternity with nothing to do with they are unhappy. Now if God was to end someone’s life completely I could respect that. 99.99999% of people reject Christianity because they don’t believe there is good enough reason to believe it, not because they want a life without god. But if for some strange reason someone did not want to be around God appropriate thing to do is to end their life itnstantainiously. to say that eternal without torture is not an eterity of punishment, it’s not the truth. Now if endless eternity without God we have things to do like living on earth, that would be a different story, and acceptable. Thanks for your response by the way. I would love to be a Christian, but I need to God that I can be proud of or one that is obviously real
@@MrJasonworkman The annihilation view of hell argues that God will wipe out those who refuse to follow him. They will cease to exist. It's a common teaching that's been around since the beginning and still has many theologians that argue for it. Let me just add, I can't say what the end will look like for sure. But I believe God will do what is just and loving in a way that no one else can. We are all finite beings trying to grasp an infinite God. He is perfect our view is cloudy by sin. We simply cannot fully understand. The Bible doesn't tell us exactly what will happen, my view or others all have holes in them. But I've steaked my faith on what Jesus' death/burial/resurection and what he has said. Everything else is secondary to me.
@@RethinkwithJefferyPoor that was a good reply, but the problem with believing in the resurrection is that there’s no way to prove the gospels are true or that Peter or Paul or telling the truth. It just comes down to its words written on paper which can’t prove anything, and I believe the people who Believe it are wishful thinker’s.
I haven't done a video on that parable. But I have written a blog post about the rich man and Lazarus. You can read it here: www.rethinknow.org/2018/10/10/what-we-can-learn-from-the-rich-man-and-lazarus/
It is good to hear the video , all the descriptiona which we hear is liking of a men. but when we ponder more into it find nothing is similar , the rich man lands hades where is crying to Abraham that please ask Lazarus to dip his finger from a drop of a water and the response of Abraham there is no coming or going there is a big gulf between Us
Lol hell comes from culture like movies and books but the Bible isn’t a book it’s a collection of pages with words so it’s much more reliable. Why believe in a book? I only believe in the Bible.. which is not a book? Wait a minute here
I can prove beyond a reasonable doubt and actually to the point where it's indisputable, that there is no hell and at the same time, prove there is a God, or Gods, entity, deities, whatever you want to call it, I just say Those Responsible........ but yeah, so...........just say'n...
@@RethinkwithJefferyPoor all right then, well let me first ask you this, just to make sure we're on the same page and that is, would God have to create something first, in order for it to exist and that includes everything you see, hear, taste, touch and feel? I mean he would basically be like the programmer of a computer and he's never surprised or taken back by anything, because he would first have to create that, right? I mean he has to create every action and reaction, every fear and feeling we have, every atom, electron, proton, every molecule of air in which we breathe, to the point where God literally knows what's going to happen, before it happens... He would have to create murder, the act of murdering, the feeling of getting murdered and what it feels like to murder somebody and the list goes on and on and on, the main point is, there is literally nothing that happens in this life, that he's not first aware of, because obviously he would have to create that, right?
@@RethinkwithJefferyPoor basically, if there was a hell, that means God's a psychopath..... You see Jeffrey, if you have an all Mighty and Powerful God, who created a species and also created everything that species feels, hears, sees, tastes, touches and smells, then there couldn't be a hell, unless God was crazy and ruthless. Think about it, for there to be a hell, God would have to create it and not only that, God would have to create the sin, the time, the place and the action, of whatever you did, that landed you in hell.... People say, well God gave us free will and I say, well God had to create Free Will and everything that comes along with it... I mean, Gods not an idiot, right and he doesn't get surprised or taken back, right? So...................................................................

I want to hear from you! What is your view of hell? Eternal Conscious Torment, Annihilation, Universalism, or something else?
Hell is not nonexistent, it is both a state of mind, and the ultimate destination for those that forsake God. There is a large misconception that to Follow God means to live a life of boredom. There is plenty in life created by God, to be enjoyed, responsibly. Consequences for your actions are what you create for yourself in this world. The pit of fire will devour, the fallen, their leader, and those who chose to be mislead by their lies.
It's the spiritual trash heap, powerful evil lives there and rules. Torment and untold terror.
My alcohol, sexual immorality and drug addition kept me living in constant hell...
The rich man in hell said he was tormented in these flames so hell is a place that has flames burning people
Luke 16:19-31 does speak of a place of torment for the wicked
Verses 23-24 clearly say the rich man is in torments. And the rich man himself says "I am tormented in this flame"
In verse 28 he ask that his five brothers be warned so they don't come "into this place of torment"
It is Hades that the rich man is in and it's not eternal. Revelations 20:14 Death and Hades is thrown into the lake if fire which is the 2nd death.

If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”
Jesus of Nazaret is the life and the resurrection, repent and trust in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
You will never forget the why you lost your body for eternity. That is the torture.
Proverbs 15:24
Nowhere in the dead Sea scrolls mentioned the word hell
Revelation 20:10 says and the devil who lead them astray was thrown into the Lake of Fire and sulfur where the Beast and the false prophet are and they shall be tortured day and night forever and ever that same sulfur and fire will be used also as it says in Revelation 20:14 and death and the grave will be thrown into the Lake of Fire this is the second death according to the scriptures those who do not follow God's purpose they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire where Satan is being tortured and those people will be destroyed
@@MrJasonworkman totally agree
I throught hell was for murders and rapest and stuff not some who had bit to much to drink or watched a bit of porn
What about the rich man and Lazarus?
Wait a minute here
God
God Loves You So Much !
He will deny that you denied him
the lower astal realms u go acording to your vibration how pure u r etc
Very thorough and solid presentation!!
You are wrong again hell is in the center of the Earth. You need to do some more studying.
Went you intentionally skip all the texts that describe hell, then you made your point. Atheist and Jehovah's witnesses will agree with you.
I can prove beyond a reasonable doubt and actually to the point where it's indisputable, that there is no hell and at the same time, prove there is a God, or Gods, entity, deities, whatever you want to call it, I just say Those Responsible........ but yeah, so...........just say'n...
Let's hear it...
@@tommy2pieceya734 I appreciate and like the way you explained this! Thanks for your insight I will look into it and try and also solve the puzzle but It makes total sense of what u just explained
