Peacock Bass Tank Update - 750 Gallons

- Here is my 750 gallon peacock bass tank, it is filled with monoculus, Orino, Azul, Kelberi and Temensis (not featured in this video) with a few other friend such as my Tigrinus, Silver Arowana, Ripsaw Catfish and Henlei Rays.

It's nice to see someone who is actually providing their fish with a nice sized home.
I know right! And of course there's people that are complaining the tank is overstocked

Amazing tank. I love the stock! Im growing out some pbass of my own. Amazing fish. You must have some serious filtration for that massive tank. All your fish look great and healthy. A true monster fish keeper.

From what I can see; varied species of Pbass (tems,intermedia, monos), BD rays, tigrinus cat, arowana, and I don't know what that large catfish with a cory styled mouth is... Possibly my favourite tank on youtube!!

Tank is 10 x 4 x 2.5 - i've actually added fish and moved a lot out now so it's much less crowded.
Reason it was so crowded was a friends tank broke and i had to adopt his fish, which i've new moved into other aquaria.

Yeah I think it’s a bit overcrowded but fuckers are acting like it’s a 6x2 tank or something 😂 and like he said he also had two 600 gallons as well but you really aren’t seeing the actual scale of it on here
His fish and tanks were insane in person the size of the bass and rays is just superb believe me they all looked perfectly kept ....he was selling up last I heard but he had some stunning stuff when I visited

Do you use a backup power source? Im setting up a larger tank but given the high bioload that comes with predatory fish, my concern is losing the FX5s for a power outage longer than a few hours will mean ammo spikes and hydrogen sulfide poision emitted from the dying nitrifying bacteria when starved of O2. at the moment, solar panels and a battery array seems the most feasible but it wont be cheap

HMA runs 24/7 and overflows out the sump.
I've never water changed it and nitrates are below 10

Those ripsaw catfish are by far the hi-light of the tank, not the peacock bass.

These fish aren't suffering but it's aesthetically underwhelming considering the funds that were required to build this. A pond would suit them better and the tank would be better utilized as an aqua-scaped planted tank. Unless of course you just want to see big fish gobble down live pray with the best view possible, that's a valid goal, used to do it myself, never had that kind of money for it though.

The BIG black cat is the RIPSAW catfish & yes the green ones are the bass

It's the biggest glass cleaner available in the UK, does the job, worth around £30

From my experience..peacock bass are v gud hunter. They will finish all the food given and left nothing to the rest.

Looks so small, they are in a prison, and they are crowded.

The aquarium is nice and the fish are beautiful, but there are too many large fish for that aquarium. It looks crowded and the fact that the tank is resting on breeze blocks can be improved also. The inside should have some vegetation to control nitrite levels
The stingrays would dig up the plants..
Plants aren't a necessity, but a luxury, and they would sure as hell be destroyed in this tank. If the stingrays didn't rip up the plants, the doradid would. Also it might be a bit crowded but as long as he does massive water changes to fit his massive tank he won't need help at all removing waste. Plants wouldn't do much for organic matter unless you got loads of them and that would have the fish running into them and ripping them up.

Yep too many fish for that size aquarium, but in hindsight he may have very good filtration. All though I'm not a fan of all keeping big fish in a plain tank cos they must feel so bored with jus sand and a bit of bogwood to keep em amused

I would disagree with your comment however it actually easily managed 28" Temensis and 36" Niger catfish with plenty of swimming space
+Slimebeast Pug yeah 2 are 600 gallon and this one 750 gallon.

I am so sick of people saying tanks are over stocked. If you prefer we can cut their heads off and throw them in a frying pan or they can continue to live in the 750 gallon which is way bigger of a tank than anyone commenting could ever afford. The fish wouldnt look so healthy if they were that stressed about the conditions of their tank.

Way way too crowded
WAY WAY to overcrowded...!!! You should have half the fish in a tank that size for them to swim and thrive properly. If your fish are having a hard time turning while there swimming or bumping into each other you have problems. Which is quite apparent with your tank.
