The Datnioides are magnificent fish. Very underrated. I think them and some giant Barbs and Tinfoils too IF they are of the red finned wild type would be even better. But ,to each his own taste as always.
All my dream fishes! STs, P14s, Azuls, Kelberis, Orinos, Australian Lungfish, Emperor Blue Hooks (Black bar silver dollars), Arapaima, Dorados! You just need a few Asian Arowanas to make it a perfect comm :)
And here I am, taking care of two betta fish in a 2.5 gal each... *sigh* I'd love to some day have a tank that big and with that kind of lighting in my house. The room it'd be in would be the most relaxing and mesmerizing place ever. I'd just try not to crowd it as much.
Safety in numbers applies when they are of same species and only to the shoaling fishes. Fishes from different species and even same species may start pecking one another if there is scarcity of space. More fish means more bioload and therefore higher chances of increase in ammonia and the tank maintenance gets tougher..
@Lilsaintaz That looks like de-shelled cocktail shrimp. Those are good food for smaller fish, too, you just have to push the shrimp through the small holes of a cheese grater.
holly..... arapaima is one of the biggest fresh water fish on earth... in 1 year he/she will be bigger than you^^ but this tank is just amazing and one of the best tanks i´ve ever seen !!!!!!
i dont think you could catch one of these fish out of florida if you spent your whole life trying to do so lol.... This is insane, and that tig was even nicer then i thought !
this tank has changed alot since the vid. i am not sure if it is still up and running. i actually have the tropical gar from this video in my tank now. it was in a friend of mine's tank for a few years before i got it.
i def will be before i start my plans are to have a CAD layout before i start and i have a few engineer friends and all so ill get it done thats for sure

Man thats a huge tank 700g's nice. Filtration - you should look into Sumps. Heaters, you will need a few of the large ones.
