I'm in the same boat on that. If an alliance server comes about naturally, then it's whatever. Random players over time allied with eachother and it is what it is. Go grind your gold and rep. But these server takeover groups can go eat one. It's literally all they do when they play the game.

Today I was playing and we got 4 solo sloops (me included) to join an alliance and take on one full galleon that was trying to kill us. It was the most fun I’ve had in a while but these alliance servers are just toxic

Been playing SoT for nearly 5 years and by far the most toxic player archetype is the self important, no self awareness, Olympic level mental acrobat, massively entitled attitude of the alliance server PvE Lord. It's not even a contest. I've lost count of the amount of times they have gone 0 to 100 gamer words a minute because someone dared attack them in a pirate video game.
