Just did my daughter's speaker covers and it took almost two hours. Pretty easy. Wanted to pass along a little info that'll help you guys with the five or six black plastic clips that hold on that black felt-covered piece. Just push the little head into the piece and it slides right out. No prying. Super easy. I wish all of the plastic anchors worked this easily.
Yes, but I have a 2002, and I can pop off the back top part from the inside of the car, but I can only get to 2 out of the 4 bolts, holding the speaker in, so I have to take it all apart anyway lol
Thanks dude, just got a 02 and the rears are blown, your information makes it so all I will need is the speakers, no adapters necessary. Can't wait to get this done because the jbl unit sounds pretty good up front still.

Echo below and well done. A+ video and DIY. Just a suggestion for others. Rear seat removal is simple, just need a small pry bar and it pops right out. Makes dealing with those side cushions easier, and allows more room to work when the seats fold down and you pull away the rear deck. I’m a ‘06 but same Gen5 as you. I found that none of the after market brackets match, including your optional (even when they say they do). No plug and play here. Lol. Using the existing or drilling is the only way for 6x9 in the rear deck. Thanks again!
I replaced my 6x9's with new ones. And I screwed them on from underneath. So if I have a blown speaker again I can get them out from underneath inside trunk. The way the factory should have done.
quick tip to start hard to reach bolts without striping, put bolt onto a socket with extension, line up then slowly turn in reverse counterclockwise with light pressure with your fingers, you will feel it click when the threads line up correctly then screw it in normally. It will save you a ton of headaches on striping out threads
It looks similar, you can try if you want. Also on eBay, they sell the wire harness that is plug and play so you don’t have use a soldiering iron to attach the wire harness.
I cringed when you put flame to solder the wires to the new speakers. You could have burned the speaker paper. A pencil tip soldering iron would have been better.
To be honest my grill was gone so I just shaved the grill to nothing and bought a pioneer 6x9 speaker with grill included and made a new hole with a screw and shaved the screw to the correct length i needed
@@NutzAboutBolts yeah I bought some pioneers and was searching videos on changing out my speakers on my 2005 Camry and found yours and I was like dang that's a lot to do LMAO

I changed my 6x9’s in a 71 Buick and it was 8 bolts from the trunk

Would a 6-1/2" speaker work with the 6x9 adaptor ?
My 2003 Camry have large speaker magnets. Not small ones like the speakers you took out.
