Also, what was the guy they are talking about convicted for?

An American President- That is the most compelling illusion created by the master Sorkin. Whether portrayed by Douglas or Sheen (supported by countless other icons of the art) these wonderfully weaved snippets of politics and power and passion and pressure provide voters a peek into the gut wrenching realities confronted daily by those servants of our democracy. Skewed, perhaps, but impartial, these are heroes all- flawed to human perfection but in moments Sorkin so often creates, His Presidents shine. They inspire, the content of their character, their courage and commitment- idealistic Fantasy, I sadly admit, but i thank them for providing an escape from the way things are and a hopeful vision into what they could be.

Very well presented. Thank you for your elegant observation. And, regarding raising of the bar: heck, we gotta find it in the mud before we can raise it. 😮. Heck #2: I’d even welcome Vinick over the contemptible miscreant about to once again disgrace the Office of the President.

@@alexturner8104 True, I was referring to the idea that Bartlett was handed another very politically hot potato pardon situation. In this case the son of a very affluent party supporter seeking a pardon. Then with Toby, a former member of Bartlett's inner team. The only good part of the Toby pardon storyline. Is the fact we were never treated to some scene of Toby asking, or even worse pleading with Bartlett for the pardon. Have always felt the Toby treason storyline was a mistake for the show, and the character. But that is a whole other can of worms.😂

Yea, reality does suck. Why doesn't Sorkin serve in the White House. Write a speech for our president that doesn't make me ashamed to be an American. Reflect some... intelect, compassion, historical perspective or future vision. These tweets or twats or bits or bites that satisfy a numb constituency might generate hits, but do they inspire. Do they resonate. Do they indicate a morsel of potential greatness over petty pandering. Reruns are all I can stomach and I'll never vote again....
      Unless Sorkin nominates the candidate.
