He finally got sick of talking about random occult knowledge he asked me if i wanted to join the Illuminati or not. He was surprisingly knowledgeable!

All the facts are accurate. The first GRAND lodge is documented to have formed in 1717. The United grand lodge formed in 1813. And yes, as stated the Illuminati were a short lived offshoot of masonry.

Amazed by the channel in a way that I didn't expect Masons to be into modern media work. That probably sounds a bit bad or accusatory, but it's probably what many people wouldn't associate masonry with on first glance, right? Or perhaps that's because it was long not in the focus? But either way, doing a good job in bringing this to attention in a fun way that pokes some fun at some (conspiracy) theories while educating people on the matter. I found Masonry originally as (drum roll) someone who got into conspiracy theories before wisening up myself and getting out of that bubble. They were an interesting topic ever since. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are Freemasons involved with modern day blue collar unions? Such as railroad? I see some overlapping, but I'm not sure if it's because of the trade, or that many are Freemasons apart from the unions.
Freemasonry as an institution isn’t a part of any particular trade union tho we have many men who are also union members. This is likely because one man joins and then if his experience is good, other men he works with follow suit.

While it is not Masonic the union of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers logo looks Masonic using a pair of calipers and a square. I was in that union on the D&RGWRR in the 1980s. There was a group of brothers who would travel by train to remote locations in the state and perform degrees for brothers who couldn't get to a town with a lodge. I was initiated while working on the Alaska RR and due to work couldn't finish my degrees until I went to Colorado. There was a group of brothers there who spent lunchtime together in a corner of the shops at Rio Grande. They helped me through my posting to finish my degrees. While the railroads as companies, or the unions, have no Masonic affiliations there certainly has been no interference that I've ever heard of against the activities of the brothers. There are other RR stories, but this has gotten long already.
Did I miss the references to Wilhelmsbad? This was extremely important in the relationship between the Illuminati and Freemasonry (or at least German / Strict Observance freemasonry and rectified / Swedish rite afterwards)
We didn’t touch upon it in this video for simple time considerations AND it’s a bit of a tempest in a teapot. I don’t buy the idea that the Illuminati took over the craft during that 1782 convention; we have no proof or contemporary accounts of that happening. I am of the opinion that members of the Bavarian Illuminati were in attendance at willhelmsbad seeking legitimacy and/or recognition. They didn’t get it. Which is why they fizzled within the next decade.
I had an Instagram account where I was speaking with several Free Masons and a few claiming to be Rosicrucian who were fellows of light, but at that time I was also approached by many claiming to be illuminati. Very different spirits among these different people. I am a man of many questions.
These were likely not legitimate Freemasons. There’s no “copyright” on calling yourself a mason. Anyone making those kind of claims is likely not being truthful. Real masons do not recruit and they certainly would never say they are in the Illuminati. The Illuminati was a small group that died out in the 1790s. But their legend remains mostly because it’s a cool sounding name.

One of my lodges in Scotland was consecrated in 1765. It was formed after some brothers decided to form another lodge in the town. Kilwinning Lodge #0 is one of the oldest in the world. IMHO masonry has its roots firmly in Scotland.

@dacheese It depends on what you mean by "anti-bible". Every Mason must have his own faith but must also respect the right for other Brethren to hold different views, as they do with yours. If you cannot accept that many Brethren see the Holy Bible as the ultimate reference to their faith, then you really ought not to be a Mason and that "senior" member. You also need to accept that every Regular lodge holds the Holy Bible, as a nod to our supposed beginnings-the ancient stonemasons guilds...who were all Christian. I came here because I found a TH-cam channel who's host claims that two different attorneys who both claim to be Freemasons distribute methamphetamine in their hometown and they do spells with the substance as well as teach their suppliers how to bless the drugs. I don’t know the story you’re talking about but sure there are all kinds of groups calling themselves “illuminati” and claiming ties to celebrities. There are likely thousands of illegitimate Masonic groups pretending to have “real” ties to all kinds of secrets. But bottom line is all the legit grand lodges and lodges and Rites operate above board and in full view of the public. I mean we have a giant pyramid in downtown DC. Masonry is a fraternity. Period. If you want to be a rap star or a movie star I would say that masonry won’t hurt, but I doubt it will help.

Many years ago I watched a video by an elderly gentleman...well groomed white hair, short beard if I recall...glasses maybe? It's been awhile. He was a Christian preacher if I remember right, but he'd been through many religions and fraternities, from low to high ranks, and the video was specifically about freemasonry. It wasn't flattering, at all. It was quite long...an hour plus, and I've looked for it since, but it seems to have been removed. My grandfather and great-grandfather were (via family "lore") 32nd degree Scottish Rite in Colorado. I still have their original copy of Morals and Dogma, though I haven't read it to this point. Freemasonry is always something I've been curious about both from my past family involvement, and of course modern conspiracy theories. As an example...why on earth would there be a Masonic compass and square in the new Witcher series lol? I can't imagine there's a point, and it's things like that that keep people wondering.

I had an Instagram account where I was speaking with several Free Masons and a few claiming to be Rosicrucian who were fellows of light, but at that time I was also approached by many claiming to be illuminati. Very different spirits among these different people. I am a man of many questions.
These were likely not legitimate Freemasons. There’s no “copyright” on calling yourself a mason. Anyone making those kind of claims is likely not being truthful. Real masons do not recruit and they certainly would never say they are in the Illuminati. The Illuminati was a small group that died out in the 1790s. But their legend remains mostly because it’s a cool sounding name.

One of my lodges in Scotland was consecrated in 1765. It was formed after some brothers decided to form another lodge in the town. Kilwinning Lodge #0 is one of the oldest in the world. IMHO masonry has its roots firmly in Scotland.

@dacheese It depends on what you mean by "anti-bible". Every Mason must have his own faith but must also respect the right for other Brethren to hold different views, as they do with yours. If you cannot accept that many Brethren see the Holy Bible as the ultimate reference to their faith, then you really ought not to be a Mason and that "senior" member.
You also need to accept that every Regular lodge holds the Holy Bible, as a nod to our supposed beginnings-the ancient stonemasons guilds...who were all Christian.

I came here because I found a TH-cam channel who's host claims that two different attorneys who both claim to be Freemasons distribute methamphetamine in their hometown and they do spells with the substance as well as teach their suppliers how to bless the drugs. I don’t know the story you’re talking about but sure there are all kinds of groups calling themselves “illuminati” and claiming ties to celebrities. There are likely thousands of illegitimate Masonic groups pretending to have “real” ties to all kinds of secrets. But bottom line is all the legit grand lodges and lodges and Rites operate above board and in full view of the public. I mean we have a giant pyramid in downtown DC.

Many years ago I watched a video by an elderly gentleman...well groomed white hair, short beard if I recall...glasses maybe? It's been awhile. He was a Christian preacher if I remember right, but he'd been through many religions and fraternities, from low to high ranks, and the video was specifically about freemasonry. It wasn't flattering, at all. It was quite long...an hour plus, and I've looked for it since, but it seems to have been removed.
My grandfather and great-grandfather were (via family "lore") 32nd degree Scottish Rite in Colorado. I still have their original copy of Morals and Dogma, though I haven't read it to this point. Freemasonry is always something I've been curious about both from my past family involvement, and of course modern conspiracy theories. As an example...why on earth would there be a Masonic compass and square in the new Witcher series lol? I can't imagine there's a point, and it's things like that that keep people wondering.
