Hi Tony, will you consider doing a video on why Innoue's left hook is so good? It seems like he leaves himself defensively open and yet no one seems to be able to counter him.
I did the same. Here's my advice. SKIP ROPE for 10 minutes few times a week for a couple months !! I was in pretty good shape at 53 but the rope almost got me.
The boxer at 4:43 in the middle wearing the blue shirt is Julius Ballo, he was one of the best Amatuer boxers in the US, just recently gone pro and signed with Top Rank and OTX.
Great job, Tony!! Thank you SO MUCH! My reason for learning some boxing techniques: I retired a few years ago and am currently age 62. I’ve been a gym member all my life, so I’m pretty fit. I’m all in for SELF DEFENSE. I recently purchased the same “Bob” dummy man bag you use in the video, and am certainly looking forward to putting some serious dents in him. Be well, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! : )
I’m 20 year old been doing boxing and on off for years now…I don’t drink, smoke or anything else…do you think I would be able to become at least an amateur fighter within 4 years if I dedicate myself entirely to boxing cheers pal big love
@@ACE-957 yeah I guess so…very rarely you see someone dedicate there entire time and energy into something and just fail miserably…even if you do fail at something at the very least u tried and it wasn’t for you ❤️👌
Been watching and benefiting for a while now. I appreciate your generosity with providing quality information. Just purchased the program. I prefer to learn by myself and can see your breakdowns will help me greatly!
Mr Tony, you are the best online tutor and speak English in a very understandable way which is necessary for any non English natives. Thank you very much, I have already subscribed! 😊
As always, great information. I am too old now to get serious about boxing but I am still learning from you more about how to stay less out-of-shape and possibly to save my a** if necessary.
"Can you think of a professional boxer who had bad footwork?" The first name that comes to mind would be Chuck Wepner. But I would really have to go and look at some video before I was confident this was correct. He was certainly not very smooth.
@@Oooooooo-pe9im Yes... kind of incidental to me ( unless it results in a medical stoppage ). Mainly I see him as very awkward in his motions / rhythm. He fought Ali and knocked him down, and was the inspiration for Rocky the movie th-cam.com/video/oLA8HIAQEzU/w-d-xo.html
@buggaboo2707 tru he must have talent to drop Ali, but my point is everybody loves to watch Rocky, not too many people want their kids to be Rocky in a fight...but that aside...good footwork will save you a lot of pain and trauma
your videos' help me so much there is a girl at my school and she keeps telling every one she flighted me when she didn't and i need to get her back and I'm learning so much !!🤕
This is a great teaching video. I watch different boxing channels, and a lot of them are for blokes that have already started boxing. But this video kept it simple, and it helps that you are a natural comedian. Also, you gave options on using it for just keeping in shape or whatever. I think whatever you do, you should have fun doing it. I'm 68 yrs old.Fitness would be my goal. I'm in decent shape for my age,and no matter the age,men like to think they can handle themselves in a real fight. I've been in a few donnybrooks, but it was so long ago the story gets better every time I tell it. If I'm at a bar or pub,and someone wants to fight me,they'll get mugged. I'll order a mug of Guinness drink it down, then bash them over the head with the mug. I wouldn't advise this technique to anyone, but it works for me. Great video. It's 6 degrees Fahrenheit here in Detroit Mi USA,so I'll start my training when it warms up a bit. Til then,I'll just keep curling mugs to keep my biceps in shape.Meanwhile Tony keep doing what you do,and take care of that beautiful family of yours. G'Day mate!
If you haven't yet begun, go for it man. I'm 74 and I train boxing 5 or 6 days a week. Have done so for a few years. There is no better way to keep in superb shape for an old guy, than boxing coupled with some strength work. Thing is, you not only get fit but you're learning a skill. That's a big motivator. For the strength work I use kettlebells, resistance bands, and power twisters, so that leaves a lot of floor space for a heavy bag and room to shadow box. Detroit eh. I grew up across the river from you in Windsor. I live in B.C. now 🙂
@Scoottoots You lived across the river, and my childhood nickname was Scoot. And some of my relatives still call me that. Scoottoots,I was doing strength work with dumbells and kettlebells and walking 4 miles five days a week. Now it's just too cold to walk. I still do strength work, but my now my workouts are more aerobic with stretching and doing hip rotations. I've never trained for boxing, but it looks like fun. The world gets smaller everyday. Thanks for the post and the encouragement.👍
Thank you for the tips Tony. I’m a self taught boxer and looking to go to a gym sometime this year and I want to look like I know what I’m doing but something I need to improve on is my balance. So I was wondering if you have any suggestions on what to do for that
Brother i have a question when ever we do street fight so the opponent always speak anything so his face alway up side how to throw cross we have to throw over hand i think i hope you understand 😅
First off love your videos. It’s a great supplement for me. Crazy thing is, I have watched dudes hold their breath and I have told them to breath…walked away and they hold their breath again. Fast forward and they are sparring they’ve got this habit of holding their breath while under pressure. 😂 Breathe!! You need oxygen for your brain man!!

Another great video!❤ Tony, who are some boxers i can study, to improve my skills?
I'm learning boxing for self defence, I work with to many sht people in the automotive industry and one day I might have to rely on it
When moving and punching do you have to move your head? Because I have not been focused on head movement
I'm doing it for fitness
I do Savate. Why? I have know idea but I get tested twice a week in the Spar session .......
Brother i have a question when ever we do street fight so the opponent always speak anything so his face alway up side how to throw cross we have to throw over hand i think i hope you understand 😅
You doing wrong things purposefully for us to notice but you are doing that also flawlessly 😅
Brother, whenever we do street fight, the enemy's face is a little higher , so in such a case we cannot hit by cross, so what should we do?
How do i join your class in real life tony?

Rocky Marciano?
Right
I wish I was only doing 5 things wrong.

Tony i want to know how are you doing with your boxing career as a boxer?
He retired in his 20s and started doing BJJ recently (as a hobbyist)
It is not uncommen that when you get paired up by somebody in a boxing session. The person will say: HARDER!, HARDER! xDDD
Mooching around the streets with your hands up....🤣🤣
Tony, Jesus loves you I hope you know this. ❤🙏
Tex. Obb and butter bean both had horrible footwork
I don’t think butterbean needed good footwork for his boxing style
This not helping in my country you need like a tank here 😂
