I cried so hard watching and listening to you share with us about Kano and how close you were to losing him bc we "lost" our Samoyed boy, Yukon on Memorial Day this year. He was 14 & 1/2 but still all puppy ☺️ Like Rottweilers, Samoyeds are only supposed to live 8~10 yrs as well. No matter how old they are when we lose them it just seems like it's never enough time with them. He was also an ASPCA rescue and had had a very abusive start to life. But we were happy and blessed to be able to have adopted him and over the years he brought so much laughter and love to our family. I am so so glad to hear that Kano is doing fine and regained his health.🙏🙏💞 So happy you still have your buddy by your side. Thanks for sharing and give Kano a big hug from the Burrell family in Michigan 🐾🐾 Take care hon. My 10-year companion left me a few months ago and to this day I still catch myself thinking about what I could have done differently to prevent that, sometimes I still blame myself for it. But as pet parents we do everything we can for them, he got ill and you immediately moved mountains to get him better, you've been an amazing dad and I'm sure Kano also recognizes that and he is extremely happy and lucky to have you in his life. I know it isn't easy, but don't beat yourself up too much. Accidents, illnesses, and simply life and aging happen and we have to deal with it. I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourself at the zb1 concert and I wish Kano a fast full recovery! Be well, Dabit! We are all here supporting you no matter what!

Honestly, you can be so proud of how you handled both of Kano's challenges this month, both the test and his medical emergency. No matter how careful we are with our pets, sometimes things just happen. I hope you don't blame yourself too much, you are a great Owner for Kano, your reaction and how you talk about him show it all. I experienced something very similar with my dog when she was still around, but in the end it just strengthened our bond, so I am sure Kano felt your love too during all of this. Dabit, seeing this video broke my heart. I just lost my dog this year and he already had his health issues (he was 16 years old!) so it wasn't a surprise but it still pains me to remember. Hi. This is the second video of yours I have seen. I will watch from now on. Your face is looking great. It was so sad with your dog. It is amazing how important they are to us. Don’t lose faith. I had a dog the doctor told me would only live to be about 5. She died 2 months before her 19th birthday. So you have a lot of time left together. Take good care of you and Kano ❤

I know the guilt you are feeling. I had left my dog by my sister's house so I could go to my doctor appointment. She normally worked from home, but that day she had to go into her job. The short while I was gone, her cat scratched his cornea. I took him to the vet and we began treating him at home. On his 15th birthday(a week after the incident), he had just eaten and proceeded to rub his face on his dog bedding and started yelping. I picked him up and drove to his vet. They could not see him and sent me to the 24 vet miles away, they could not see him either. I then called the vet they suggested and they said bring him in, it was actually closer to my home. They took him in and we started a sedation to treat the eye and discovered it had burst and would need to be removed. The vet then informed me that he would probably not survive the surgery given his advanced age and heart murmur. I had decided it was time for the hard decision. When I saw him, he struggled to breath, didn't even respond to my voice, I held him and told him I was sorry for not protecting him as they administered the two drugs and then I felt his heart stop and let them know he was gone. I have never cried so much in my life. That was on July 1st of this year, I still have not gone thru all of this toys to clean them and donate, still have all the outfits and boots I put on for the winters here. I have his remains in a box with a plaque of his paw print. You hug Kano every moment you can and you take care of yourself as well.

Hello! So I am glad that everything is going so much better. I know exactly how you feel with your furr baby. My Lily just in the middle of the night got extremely sick and all the vets were telling me nothing was wrong. One trip to an emergency vet proved that was not true. And the amount of worry and fear a person can feel in those moments in incomparable except to maybe a parent. I am so glad Kano made it through and has a great recovery. Also, you look amazing and cant wait to see the final results, but I know you will dazzle. Also also, you are so lucky to have seen them live! Glad you had fun in all the trauma. 💜💜

A couple months ago my dog died, he was 14 and a Whippet, anyways through his lifetime we had meny scares and had to take him to the vet (he liked to eat chocolate and the net of meat.. 👀) but after all that when he came he would still act like a puppy and lay his head on my laptop when I was busy, distracting me. Wishing a speedy recovery for Kano, and hopefully no more vet scares in the future, do not worry!! ✨ Also the title scared the shit out me.. Had to make sure Kano was okay!

I was so stressed and worried :( I was checking up so often because I just wanted him to be okay, so I'm so glad he's doing so much better now 💞 It's not your fault, shit happens and he's super strong, and he loves you more than anything 💞

Glad Kano is doing well, My daughter's baby is an 11 year old Rottweiler/Japanese Tosa mix. He looks like Kano but has a lot of extra skin around his neck and quite a bit of grey on his face. She recently had to take him to the vet as well. It's hard when your family member is unwell, and worse when you feel you caused it. Like I've told her in the past, you do everything with his well-being in mind, so if something unexpectedly or accidentally happens the fault isn't yours to bear. It's easier said than to believe, but it's true. I'm glad you are both healing well. It's great you got to enjoy the concert. Keep smiling and remember there are so many that would be proud to call you family.
It was never your fault we lost my dog to heat stroke all my dog had been doing was playing in garden it was horrible to witnes dogs are so sensitive so glad kano is okay and doing better ❤

A couple months ago my dog died, he was 14 and a Whippet, anyways through his lifetime we had meny scares and had to take him to the vet (he liked to eat chocolate and the net of meat.. 👀) but after all that when he came he would still act like a puppy and lay his head on my laptop when I was busy, distracting me.
Wishing a speedy recovery for Kano, and hopefully no more vet scares in the future, do not worry!! ✨

Glad Kano is doing well, My daughter's baby is an 11 year old Rottweiler/Japanese Tosa mix. He looks like Kano but has a lot of extra skin around his neck and quite a bit of grey on his face. She recently had to take him to the vet as well. It's hard when your family member is unwell, and worse when you feel you caused it. Like I've told her in the past, you do everything with his well-being in mind, so if something unexpectedly or accidentally happens the fault isn't yours to bear. It's easier said than to believe, but it's true. I'm glad you are both healing well. It's great you got to enjoy the concert. Keep smiling and remember there are so many that would be proud to call you family.

It was never your fault we lost my dog to heat stroke all my dog had been doing was playing in garden it was horrible to witnes dogs are so sensitive so glad kano is okay and doing better ❤

Being an animal parent is difficult when they are sick. We always blame ourselves though it's not our fault. Happy Kano is well; happier your friend was able to give you a caretaker break.

@dabit1205 There is no way to prepare for unconditional love. You give your all, to animals or people. Just focus on the present. Embrace everyday. That's all any of us can do.
