This is probably the happiest version of you I've seen yet! :D You were already brave for having posters up on your walls as a teenager. I never felt confident enough to do that in my overly religious household growing up. Now that I have my own house, I completely understand how freeing healing our inner suppressed teenager feels! There's truly no reason to hide what we like. If people have issues with it, that's not our fault, and this way of thinking took decades for me to learn. Thank you for finally being YOU!! our experiences are slightly different but I had a similar experience. I felt like I couldn’t really explore my love for Kpop or even talk about it with anyone bc I didn’t have a community who understood or cared. I’m in my 30s and felt like friends made fun of me and didn’t understand. It wasn’t until the dreaded shut down that I made connections through Twitter and saw there was an online community that built my confidence that let me proudly gush, share, and love these groups and idols openly. After that I was able to confidently be open and proud of my love for Kpop. And I felt authentically myself whether people understood me or not

I just came across this vlog because I just saw your mitski cover on Instagram and wanted more of your music, and omg I am so happy for you! There is such a liberation in coming out and exploring parts of yourself and experiences that you missed out on whe you were younger. I've been experiencing that a little myself, as I have been letting myself think about actually dating now which I never did when I was a teen, it was all just in my head at the time. During the His Man episode when everyone was talking about their experiences, I felt incredibly connected to everyone, and marveled at the courage it takes to just be yourself. Especially for you and Seonwoo, who had been not out for long at the time, to go on a show and be public and unashamed and loud about who you are was truly inspiring. Go forth and simp!! (ps. I don't know if you've seen it already, but I would definitely recommend Moonlight Chicken as a BL. It explores different queer experiences in different age groups and is very beautiful, melancholy but tinged with hope)

I discovered BLs almost 2 months ago. The hot Korean BL actor for me is the one in "Jun & Jun," Ki Hyun Woo. OMG, I think he's the one that turned me onto Asian guys. Growing up surrounded by white guys I only found them attractive (as a straight female). Never EVER thought any Asian guys were attractive (even though I'm Korea) ... all the way up to when I watched my first BLs in April. OMG. I've done a 180 and think Asian guys are either hot, cute or both. The first Asian guy I saw after my discovery, lol, was in a local bakery. I almost lost it. I was overcome with a wave of ... oye, cannot even describe. Once outside I lost it. Giggling and just overall losing my mind. The last two weeks have been all about HM2. Watching, rewatching, watching cast members' YT vids, like Dabit's. Funny, I found that I was already subbed to Dabit and Daenyeol's channels already. I have no idea why I like BL, either. I've never cared for gay stories or anything resembling romantic stories straight or gay. But, something about Asian guys with each other hits me different. I'm old enough to know that gay men in relationships is just like any other relationship, and I don't want to fetishize them. But, they are doing a great service for me, lol, in too many ways to list them here. I'll just say I'm very content and happy because of them. 🤭 Closest feeling to compare it to is what I feel for my pup (adopted from Korea). I tell her often, "You and me, we both were born in Korea and emigrated to the US." 🤣 OMG, I've rambled. Wish I could also fast forward. Even though my story doesn't involve my sexuality (well, in a way it def does), I feel liberated in a different kind of way. Couldn't tell you why or how. I just feel freer. I just came across this vlog because I just saw your mitski cover on Instagram and wanted more of your music, and omg I am so happy for you! There is such a liberation in coming out and exploring parts of yourself and experiences that you missed out on whe you were younger. I've been experiencing that a little myself, as I have been letting myself think about actually dating now which I never did when I was a teen, it was all just in my head at the time. During the His Man episode when everyone was talking about their experiences, I felt incredibly connected to everyone, and marveled at the courage it takes to just be yourself. Especially for you and Seonwoo, who had been not out for long at the time, to go on a show and be public and unashamed and loud about who you are was truly inspiring. Go forth and simp!!
(ps. I don't know if you've seen it already, but I would definitely recommend Moonlight Chicken as a BL. It explores different queer experiences in different age groups and is very beautiful, melancholy but tinged with hope)

I 100% relate to this. I also had to heal my inner teenage self that never got to actually enjoy the things I wanted to as a teen after I came out later. While generally people consider me to be really mature and put together, there is still a side of me that is basically a teenager lol.

I discovered BLs almost 2 months ago. The hot Korean BL actor for me is the one in "Jun & Jun," Ki Hyun Woo. OMG, I think he's the one that turned me onto Asian guys. Growing up surrounded by white guys I only found them attractive (as a straight female). Never EVER thought any Asian guys were attractive (even though I'm Korea) ... all the way up to when I watched my first BLs in April. OMG. I've done a 180 and think Asian guys are either hot, cute or both. The first Asian guy I saw after my discovery, lol, was in a local bakery. I almost lost it. I was overcome with a wave of ... oye, cannot even describe. Once outside I lost it. Giggling and just overall losing my mind. The last two weeks have been all about HM2. Watching, rewatching, watching cast members' YT vids, like Dabit's. Funny, I found that I was already subbed to Dabit and Daenyeol's channels already. I have no idea why I like BL, either. I've never cared for gay stories or anything resembling romantic stories straight or gay. But, something about Asian guys with each other hits me different. I'm old enough to know that gay men in relationships is just like any other relationship, and I don't want to fetishize them. But, they are doing a great service for me, lol, in too many ways to list them here. I'll just say I'm very content and happy because of them. 🤭 Closest feeling to compare it to is what I feel for my pup (adopted from Korea). I tell her often, "You and me, we both were born in Korea and emigrated to the US." 🤣 OMG, I've rambled. Wish I could also fast forward. Even though my story doesn't involve my sexuality (well, in a way it def does), I feel liberated in a different kind of way. Couldn't tell you why or how. I just feel freer. Can't wait to watch all the past Dabit vids here, and look forward to seeing them as they come out, too!
