    You are not alone in many of the feelings you are having both in the garden and out. Gardening is so rewarding but a lot of hard work, dedication and sometimes tears. I always come back to how grateful I am to have the garden that the weeds and bugs want to live in.

    Great episode. It's not about getting it all done. Look at it as "Stuff to keep you busy" but you will learn to take your time and not stress over it. Take it 1 day at a time. Stress causes sickness and pain. Don't do that to yourself.

You are doing great, Queen. No need to try to complete everything. It is not a race and like you said... There will always be room for upgrades. Slow down a bit. Time yourself in your chores so you can atleast get variety chores done in a day. Also, give yourself a break! We see you are very strong woman. You have nothing to prove to us. Just allow your garden to truly become your therapy. Remember, everything waits for #YOU. You got this, Queen. Wishing you MUCH Peace of mind, Blessings, Safety and Great Health. #Amin🤲🏿🙏🏿🤲🏿

    Why you didn’t put weed barrier cloth in the bottom of your raised bed garden? It will help keep the weeds out and it drain good. I have them in my raised bed and no weeds, with less work. That will cut a lot of the weeding. Just a suggestion. You have a huge garden and you are busy . Keep up the good work.

    • @faithfamilyhomestead
      @faithfamilyhomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put down cardboard over the whole garden. I wanted the bottoms of the beds to be open to allow roots to be able to eventually go down into the soil since my beds aren't that high off the ground

    Hey there Dom. I was just thinking about this video today and how so many youtube gardeners/homesteaders I love have expressed the same challenge of feeling overwhelmed. I am not a homesteader, but I know I struggle too to 'get it all done' as well. Well have you ever heard of Fly Lady? She has a method of cleaning that breaks up monthly, weekly and daily tasks into manageable little chunks so that you aren't trying to do everything in one day. It is SOOOO HELPFUL! She breaks her home up into 4 "zones" and tackles one zone for just 15 minutes a day. I was thinking about the list of outdoor chores and wondered if there was a way to break up the garden into zones so they could be cycled through little by little. When you have sick kids, or other commitments, you come back and pick up where you left off. I am going to start making a list of everything that I know needs to be done outside, and then divide the tasks into "Daily, weekly and monthly" tasks and then just bite off a little each day. Lol, I will let you know how it goes, ha. Check out Fly Lady and see if something there inspires you!! :)

    • @faithfamilyhomestead
      @faithfamilyhomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome 😍 I have heard of fly lady and followed either that one or a similar cleaning one at our old house for keeping up with chores inside and it did work lovely so maybe I'll look into it again!! The idea of making one for outside sounds lovely... My problem is more of a personality trait haha like compulsive 😅 when it comes to wanting something to be done, so although I know it isn't realistic it's hard sometimes to be ok with it not being ok haha if that makes sense

      What I have used the longest and continue to go back to is a site called Easy Peasy All In One Homeschooling system... I've used it almost every year for the past 9 years even if I don't use all of it. I also love Saxon Math (use it every year) and Apologia for Science (Christian perspective). Those are my tried things I use over and over but I've tried lots of other things. Each kid is also different so what works for one might not work for the next so I try to be flexible with each kid.
