My dad and I met him once at adelaide oval before the play had started for the day. What a great guy he was, not much different from how he was in front of the camera. Dad even asked to see his
keys (that were famous for testing the pitch) joking around and he grabbed them out of his pocket and said sorry, these are only the keys to my rental car 😂

I had the great honour to see Tony Greig bat for Sussex from the very beginning of his career in England. First ever ball dispatched to the boundary. His mild mannered nature, his courtesy and his personal courage was a joy to behold and an example to young players everywhere. Always gave time to sign autographs, always gave time to talk and smile with young fans. A hero of the Green. Thank you Tony. Others could learn from his example.

Reminds me of a match at Adelaide Oval, Shane Warne had come on to bowl... And Tony was complaining about him bowling from the wrong end...
Chappelli said "No wonder you couldn't play leg spin bowling... This end is perfect."
Tony later questioned Richie, the leg spin expert in the commentary team, and he repeated Chappelli's opinion.
