It was always great when Tony Greig and Bill Lawry were commentating on an ashes test. They were both totally partisan and loved putting the other down if their team was on top, but there was also an obvious deep friendship and respect between them.

I miss the old commentary of Ch9. It felt like you were just in the middle of mates having a chat and calling the cricket. Nothing awkward, raw laughs and proper cricket opinions. Richie and Tony are forever commentary immortals. R.I.P <3

Reminds me of a match at Adelaide Oval, Shane Warne had come on to bowl... And Tony was complaining about him bowling from the wrong end... Chappelli said "No wonder you couldn't play leg spin bowling... This end is perfect." Tony later questioned Richie, the leg spin expert in the commentary team, and he repeated Chappelli's opinion.

These days all we get is Harsha Bhogle speaking nonstop draining our brains out.
