The K5 looks way better than the Sonata. Come to think of it, Kia tends to look better than the Hyundai counterpart across the board.

@Sarah - the picture in picture bit with the gopros was AN AWESOME IDEA; please do MORE OF THIS for your car reviews. Really neat seeing the road when you are testing the cars out, AND getting to see your reactions while driving. ;)
Great job again ..I had both the sonata & Optoma back in 2014..never had a problem with either car . besides routine maintenance I had to replace the rear right brake pads at 132,000 miles both car's we're daily driver's & abused going up & down the Pocono mountains & blizzard conditions . .would definitely buy another one!!

Great review Sarah! You have a great open mind regarding your car reviews. I agree Kia is killing it right now in the car game. The "mainstream cars", GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, are all kinda stuck in a non creative rut. I would buy one of these if i was car shopping. You always make me smile. AND you are so right, I can go to the manufacturer web site and get all the data numbers, I come here for the real life review.

It's just a more visually appealing car in my opinion... Hearing that the materials flow together well, there's a lot of attention to detail and you feel like you're getting your moneys worth has me ready for a test drive... --- If it's soft and you keep rubbing does it..? Never mind... Thanks again for your wonderful humorous reviews...
Have owned two Kia’s (2017 Soul and 2020 Telluride). Could not be happier. Amazing value for the $. Very reliable.

I've always pointed out how badass amber running lights are. When I was young we drove our imports with parking lights on all the time because we thought it looked cool. Because it does look cool. Paid the tickets.

Yes, the old Audi 5000 1984 with euro headlight had the amber look when driving around with parking lights on!! Bad ass!!
A Kia executive was one of my clients many moons ago and I remember him being really proud of the fact they snagged one of Audi's best car designers and brought him over to Kia.
I expedited a 2+ Bean rating I gotta say. Cookie and Penguin rating i agree with!
Oh, it has that little triangle glass behind the A-pillar. As an old person, it would be so cool if could open to serve as a vent.

I like the front end of the K5, but love the side and rear view of the Sonata, and also the interior on the Sonata

Just got the N-Line. Definitely more spirited and better handling. I like the lines better to but the K5 Front end is very nice.

I have the 2014 Kia Optima (the precursor to the K5) I Got it as my daily Driver Because my Mustang does not like Atlanta traffic! They are surprisingly roomy and bring more punch than one would think. My only Issue with the car after driving her for many years is the A/C Compressor. Mine has a very tiny leak, (after research I learned it was designed this way Because it uses the 134-A refrigerant as a lubricant ) So I top off my Refrigerant every summer and it works great!
This is really one of the better looking new cars. They did a great job with the styling. The lower performance and front-wheel-drive of this specific model would turn me away, but absolutely beautiful to look at.
Also, I watched the part with Sarah messing around with that handle over the rear driver-side door at least four times.

You find that shape top windshield on the hood and grill, it's like a kia shape. I prefer this one over the optima, especially the front end.
Yes, nice car, nicer review, nicest reviewer. These are AWD in Canada, except for the GT which remains front only perhaps to not take away from the Stinger.
We have AWD as an option down here, but yes not on the GT. Same with the Sonata N-Line. Makes no sense.
