- Gun battles between Israel and militants from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and smaller Palestinian factions intensified overnight into some of the fiercest in months in both northern and southern Gaza, both sides said on Wednesday. FRANCE 24 Chief Foreign Affairs Editor Rob Parsons has more.

It was a catastrophe entirely of their own making just like the current war in Gaza. Palestinians must learn the hard lesson of taking responsibility for their own actions.
the idea of a state of their own for the palestinians has been on the back burner for decades. Being largely ignored. And then bam! Hamas threw a horrendous surprise attack on their occupiers knowing that it would get the worlds attention. They knew that it would be the only way to get the idea of a 2 state solution off the back burner. And it worked. As the world woke up in shock over what the palestinians had been dealing with for 75 yrs, their was no way to ignore a 2 state solutuion anymore.

Yesterday a older Jewish lady on the news said 500 settlement families were ready to move into Gaza.
"humanitarian zones"means aid and hospitals. Israel is starving them and celebrating by burning that aid.

Unfortunately Hamas/Palestinians attacked Israel which caused this conflict. Hamas/Palestinians should of never massacred the innocent children in Israel. What did Hamas/Palestinians expect from joining Hamas in this emotional cruel attack on October 7th. Rafah Hamas/Palestinians must be never again attack Israel. the US is much more rehearsed in guerilla urban warfare. Twenty yrs in vietnam give the US the upper hand when it tells Isreal that there's no way to defeat hamas. Thinking they know it all is getting isreal in trouble.

Lot of ignorance in this reporting. There are at least four full Hamas battalions that are intact and hiding in Rafah. Israel waited weeks and warned over and over again in the last few weeks that they intend to come in after them (giving away the strategic advantage and putting young soldiers lives at risk for the sake of the "innocent civilians". Already soldiers have lost their lives - including three 18 and 19 year olds who were facilitating humanitarian aid going in to Gaza when Hamas deliberately and cold bloodedly fired missiles at them.

Hamas resurgence in the North are not Hamas..they are civilians who are supporters and sympathizers of HAMAS .same civilians in Rafah area.79 plus % of Gazans are Hamas people.

1:30 Good report, though not sure "set up" is the term, more like 'designated' :/ This war turned from tragedy into farce last month, when civilian requests for the IDF to actually govern the occupied areas in the center, and PLO reemergence in the northeast, scared Likud into pulling the IDF out of all but one road across the strip. Those four brigades dispersed out of Rafah weeks ago. This is about blowing up buildings and keeping Netanyahu in office at US taxpayer expense. The most anti-Israel thing any of us can do is facilitate it.

The intervention of surrounding Arab countries in Israel was a response to the Nakba, not the other way around. The ethnic cleansing began in January at least and by the time Israel declared independence on May 15th, more that 300,000 Palestinians had already been expelled.
