What if the ANC does not win? South Africa's most uncertain elections since 1994 • FRANCE 24

  • What if, this time, the ANC does not win? Since 1994, South Africa has known plenty of ups and downs. But no matter the criticism or defections, the party of Nelson Mandela could always bank, come election time, on a winning machine that has always secured an outright majority. What if it's not the case in Wednesday's vote? And why would that be?

If anyone thinks political parties aren't corrupt by nature, then they are living in another planet.
The difference here is that the ANC is the worst when it comes to corruption.
The DA is no different, just less so than the ANC. The worst part about the DA is that it is looking after the other side more than the rest of the citizens. Cape Town is such a beautiful city but governed unequally. Just look at Khayelitsha, Mitchells plain, Gugulethu, Mannenberg, Langa, and the list goes on.
The less said about the EFF the better. MK is just a waste of space, they will get votes, especially in KZN, but we would be going backwards if they miraculously grow bigger than that.
Sadly, for me at least, the only party I can think of voting for is ActionSA. Sadly because it is not as popular as the others, that is not by accident, they failed to capitalize on their last performance.

Bear in mind before I studied I got a job straight out of highschool but during COVID got retrenched so I decided to go to uni years later graduated cannot find anything. Bear in mind i worked at a high level my qualification is at NQF 6 have experience but cannot even get a menial job. That type of job that people laugh at in movies I cannot get that weak job that pays 3500 because our country is f##ked beyond repair. Unemployment is not 33 it's 50% y does we have so many grant recipients I mean what's half of 60. We have close to 30 million on grant that's sickening.

The ANC is going to win, and all those saying otherwise are simply saying their prayers out aloud, not their true conviction. There is a good reason why the ANC, which is by no means perfect, has remained and will likely remain in power for a long time. It has the backing of the people whose voice really matters in an election, and they are not those who talk the loudest. Like a woman who escaped an abusive relationship, the silent majority in South Africa has been traumatised and is afraid to trust anyone again.

Why show so much ANC in the beginning of the segment? And again, South Africa is not as poor as you make it to be. Our unemployment rate ate at a low age. And we are still dealing with racism yet there is no way way our unemployment rate is Eben worse that Zimbabwe when they come to the country illegally and we are talking about 20% of illegal addiction population. Eitherway, we are done with ANC.

The ANC is a governing coalition. The ANC-SACP-COSATU. What will this minority turnout mean for the interests of those coalition members if/when the "ANC" forms this projected coalition?
It's time for the SACP to break from this sinking ship and go out on their own.

Since Nelson Mandela's presidency ended, politics in SA has become a matter on who manages the public purse. It has become a race of who can control the money and loot the state resources through corrupt tenders to themselves, family and friends. Unfortunately it has become a matter of self enrichment and far removed from service delivery. Every aspect of service delivery has collapsed to become at best unreliable. Only one province, albeit with many challenges due to legacy issues, is managing to improve living conditions. Eye watering amounts of money is being looted. With the previous and current president becoming billionaires overnight, its quite clear emotions are manipulated and voter trust abused to become economically elite. We only need to look at Zimbabwe to see how this ends.
