Except the fact doc is always extremely shocked by what he discovers while rick is never surprised by anything.

If this was an actual series I would totally watch it, too bad Lloyd can't commit to another project at his age, but from these clips he seems like the perfect live version of Rick.
I mean, he was the literal inspiration for the character
He's old, not dead. Only thing is he can't really do the majorly physical stuff Rick does. Fighting, running around, all that fun trouble Rick gets into. If he's going to commit to a role, I'd rather it not kill him or limit the role.

The only alternative I'd ever consider for Rick (Other than my absolute favorite, Chris Lloyd) would be Hugh Laurie from House MD. To me.. .it's the biggest oversight in R&M fun potential for anything live action. Even just small bumps like this. But yeah....Hugh Laurie. He's got the whole Rick Sanchez package. Proved it playing House. A semi-North Jersian with an addiction issue and lack of sympathy. Please make this a reality for me lol

Having followed Laurie's prior career as a British comedian and musician, playing a sardonic American diagnostician like House certainly demonstrated his versatility as an actor. I'm having difficulty imagining him gallivanting about as Rick Sanchez, though, without hearing his British accent in my head.

They seemed to have picked him because he is a popular actor from "It", buuutt.... there's a reason why Jaeden was chosen to play protagonists that seem inteligent and rather emotionless.. because he can do that well. Now THIS is a totally different role.. it's comedic and exagerated.. he is pretty and populuar, but not a great choice for playing morty :(

When filming they do multiple takes and out of all the takes they did they decided this was the best they had 😂 I'm not saying he can't act, but he definitely can't act like a Morty! There are better options.
