I was however wondering why you don’t consider animating a real rotating 3D globe (with continents) like the ones we can get on sketchfab.
Otherwise the map looks flat while being masked by a circle.
I know you might have been going for this style, but it feels more like a technical constraint to me than it is a style.
It’s already amazing ! But why not ad that slight plus by drawing over a real 3D globe instead?
Considering the already invested effort, it doesn’t seem much, but will make a great difference.

ive been watching howard for a while and he likes to animate moving environments without 3d graphics. his workflow also seems to involve alot of trial-and-error, creating and fixing as he goes instead of always laying down all the notations first. it gives his art a sort of distorted reality, with all litte shape and motion imperfections cleaned up to flow together nicely.
(if howard replies he can correct me if im wrong)
@@hawshimagical Yes I see what you mean, I actually like his style, and as you said, not using 3D can give more freedom of artistic expression.
Howard however used 3D on many occasions and it turned out very nice.
I just thought that the globe would look better having a 3d look to it.
(But I might end up being wrong).

its an excellent animation but if you really spend 12 hrs in this short clip, you are so slow and need to practice a lot, it shouldn’t take more than 1hr
you right - 12 hours is way too long! I gotta speed it up big time

The music!! I was really enjoying it and I clicked to see the musician.. I'm stoked. I used to listen to an Aether album many years ago and I had totally forgotten it. The last few months though one of the songs I used to listen to keeps creeping into my head and I've really wanted to find it but couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the musician.
