If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.
I stayed on Soi 8 at the start of November this year and the bridge at the bottom of Soi 10 was open then. I used the short cut through the church car park and walked along the Sky Walk past Benchakitti to Lumphini.
The second side soi connects to soi 6 via the kasalong which is a great short cut, I usually stay soi 6 in bangkok love the location. You have to go thru the shops and it zigzags thru thai style.
I stayed at the Adelphi in Nov 22 for a couple nights. It was about $50 USD a night. Very nice place but the rooftop pool is tiny. The Ambassador Hotel has a large pool and good rates.
Thanks, great vlog. I usually stay at the Crown BTS Nana, only 2 stars, but well positioned. Earlyish morning coffee at Tipsy Tat - they are mostly the only ones that open early, and I eat mostly at Det 5. All round, it's a great area to base yourself if you're in town for a coupla weeks.
@@EagerExpat I just left Phrom Phong, moved down to Nana. I really like the Phrom Phong area. Hope to run into you before my trip ends. Appreciate your videos and as I’ve stated before, more so the commentary.
That pizza place, Vesuvio is actually really good. I bumped into Thailand Rob on a visit to Phuket and he recommended it. The spicy pepperoni was delicious. You should definitely give it a try. Det5 is very good too. You’re spot on about the chicken soup. Thanks for another great video. Love the exploration. Since I can’t make it over there right now, your videos are probably the next best thing to being there. Keep it going Joe.
I have a thai friend that used to work for a tailor shop in Bangkok until covid put them out of business. She's now in Pattaya and owns a massage shop.
Country is a little more rare. You'll hear country if someone puts it on the iPad. There is Country Roads in Soi Cowboy. But that's a little more 70's rock. As far as a Texas roadhouse style bar, I'm going to say no. Years ago, I remember one in Pattaya. I would go, if we had a good honky tonk
Hi thank you for good video only thing im not agree is soi 8 is scandnavian or Danisch soi , Det 5 is so nice it is my first place to visit when i arrive to have some coold chang and a spice biff salad or before they have nam tok mmm so god. Thai lady have this before whit super service maby now ownd by falang ?? hope not ,,,

I think I wrote a comment about one of your more recent soi 8 videos, but I found this one. My grandfather's old house is the one at 26:17.
It's such a big city, your establishing shot was amazing. Such big streets
Thank you very much

Yes, it's been open since October. I'm not sure when this video came out. I do so many. It's a great park. Thank you for watching.
Well done, “Squirrel on the line”, another great band name.
Ha ha, that would be a good band name
thanks for the tour.👍 seems nice and quiet the further down you go 👏
Yes, it's mellow down near the park

Yes, I've used that shortcut a few times. Good tip

@@Marinate305 Cool. I'm trying to be on the wagon for a few days, but I'm always around. Maybe meet up for a beer before you go

I'll have to give Vesuvio a try. I'm a Pala Pizza or Bella Napoli guy. Det5 has great soup
Totally agree with the point you make about tailoring. Fabric is so important.
Nice to get a shirt tailored for $2
Lovely.very informative. Thanks
Glad it was helpful. More videos on the way
Thanks you very much promotes traveling in thailand

Kiwi bar was in the first Soi you went into . Now velvet bar , was a great pub more a rugby bar but great food
Kiwi was a good bar back in the day
Good luck, man. You’re doing a great job.
I appreciate it. More to come
Nice vlog❤
Thanks for watching
Kiwi was indeed on soil 8. Great local bar.
That was a fun spot. Hopefully, it comes back one day
Great area of Bangkok.
I agree. Soi 8 is a great area
I have a thai friend that used to work for a tailor shop in Bangkok until covid put them out of business. She's now in Pattaya and owns a massage shop.
You can get some great tailor deals around town
I ran into the closed gate but the guard waived me in, two years ago.
That's good. Thanks for watching
Hi there Joe, you mentioned heavy metal, any good country bars etc in the city, common sense Chas.

If you keep walking past Lolita’s you get to soi6 which takes you to Soi4
You sure do. Used that shortcut many times
I thought they were advertising internet speed, lol.
Speed is usually good in Bangkok. Thanks for watching

It's not a Danish Soi, but Det 5 and a few others have Danish dishes. Hard to find in other parts of BKK
Kiwi was where Lyf is now.
Ya I remember it was in two spots. Back in 2013 the original spot, then it moved to the alley for a few years
The guy is old as well so walking so slow
I walk slow, so the video isn't blurry. You can speed it up if you want it faster.
