I remember making hardcore royal rumbles, where I made it so elimination is by pinfall only, and just have all out brawls all over the arena. Such good times man. This was my childhood, and what a great childhood it was :).
WWF didn't "Take the engine" They hired AKI, who made the WCW VS NWO revenge game to make Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. The same company are now making an AEW game.
The THQ & AKI ones were the best WCW/NWO Revenge to No Mercy - No Mercy was especially good, put a load of time into it to unlock each story scene for each title
Thanks for the massive nostalgia trip. Man I remember making a deal with my mom to pay me $5 for every chore I did around the house so I can buy WWF Attitude. Earning that game was worth it because of the customization and those epic intros lol. But nothing beats WWF 2000. I wish I had No Mercy back then, but I lost interest in wrestling, so I'll always at least have fond memories of making even more characters and stables in WWF 2000. I think I even made my own storylines in my head when I used to play it. Good times!

Those games were greenlit, developed, tested and shipped with shit like "punch with C-down" or "taunt with B" and no one caught any of that. God damn.
