The way they reproduce is by putting their tail into their mouth and pulling itself apart. At least I think that's how. I also asked my science teacher if planaria have nerves because if they did it would be really painful to tear yourself apart, but if they don't then they're alright.
Burnie is relying on the Aristotelian concept of senses. Considering how Aristotle got virtually everything wrong I wouldn't really use him in an argument.
