I never comment on TH-cam videos, but yours are completely underrated and deserve way more exposure. Making these jams without using external gear really shows how powerful the OP-1 is and it looks like you embrace the restraints and limitations. Start posting these to r/op1users and you'll see a lot of folks agree. Haven't been this interested or learned as much since Red Means Recording stopped making OP-1 vids. Would love to see some more videos of you building these tracks too! Rock on, man!
Ahh man you're too kind! Thanks heaps for taking the time to say that, I appreciate it. I am a Reddit n00b but i'll definitely checkout that thread and see what everyone has been up to with their OP's. I'll also get on to another production clip to show the workflow again, thanks again for the encouragement Frank!
Thanks for the support team, your comments are the reason I decided to release some of the tracks from my OP-1 house sets... Here is the first of three 4-track releases, 'The Operator Tapes: Vol. 1': gyro.to/TheOperatorTapesVol1 ... All of the tracks are from this set, with some post-OP production in my medieval version of Cubase.
Thanks Christopher! I generally use 8 bars/track (2 x 64 step sequences). I get about 20-25 tracks per 6 minute tape. I thought about chucking my tape into a DAW and recording at double tempo so I could fit twice as many tracks… I’ll let ya know if that works!
Hey mate, techno/house you’re probably going to prefer the midi workflow offered by the MPC. I love the OP-1 for the audio workflow, but it also means you can’t easily make variations to your beat. MPC One is priced brilliantly and is deep. To throw a spanner in the works tho… I think the SP404 mk2 is possibly the best value sampler/seq on the market.
Hey Nik, each track was produced inside the OP-1. Here is a video showing the production of one of the tracks from this set - th-cam.com/video/XZOqQ2GpxLg/w-d-xo.html

Great work! What is the most tracks you can put on per set?

Serious stuff! You programed your set into the OP1 or you made the beats also using OP1? Sounds sick! Instant sub.
Hey man, thanks very much. Everything is produced inside the OP-1. Theres a little clip on my channel to show the process.
@@HoochMusic Cheers! I dug a bit and found it hahah sorry I got excited and commented too fast!
@@HanjoSynth haha man please any opportunity to give the video a plug 🤣
Do you recommend mpc one or op-1?
