    instant subscribe. that performance at the end was fantastic! idk why but how quickly you were switching to the tape to mute/unmute tracks only to quickly turn back to the nitro really amazed me.

      Thanks very much! Just the product of having a fun time haha. Appreciate the sub, I’m dropping a new set on the OP-1f soon that’s utilising the mixer a little more heavily, focused on transitions. Hope to catch ya there! 🤝

    Awesome stuff man ty. I am a beginner… simple question, how are you switching to new tracks as you go? 10:33

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No worries man, appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment 🤝. At 10:33 it looks like I’m just holding my finger down on tracks 1 and 3, so that I’m soloing the melody and the percussion. Then, I release my finger and all 4 tracks play. Maybe it sounds like a different section of the tape, but it’s the same loop but with all 4 tracks playing. If you’re referring to skipping between loops throughout a set, you hold shift and either < or >. Hopefully I’ve answered your question!

  • @GiovanniStockton-Rossini
    @GiovanniStockton-Rossini 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Tx for response! I think I got it now. So as I understand, it solos when in tape mode whichever track you hold. And it looks like when you skip to the next loop it finishes it out so it’s all seamless sonically?

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No worries! Yep pretty much, but you can hold your finger down in tape made, and then change to the mixer or fx and as long as you keep your finger down you can still solo the track you want while you’re playing with fx/levels.

    excuse me around 6:00 what kind of chords are you using? I'm getting into music making and I really dig how they sound

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it’ll be some sort of minor 7th or 9th chord I’d say. Just search ‘classic house chords’ and you’ll find heaps of stuff.

      @@HoochMusic thank you for the key terms!

  • @MrMargaretScratcher
    @MrMargaretScratcher ปีที่แล้ว

    Wait, @4:31 are you somehow filtering just one of the tape tracks?

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Nah, I am using the filter as a master effect and soloing a couple of tracks (i think melody and percussion) at this point in the video. The filter is more noticeable on the melody and percussion than on the bass track so perhaps thats why it sounded like I was just filtering some tracks and not others. Thanks for checking out the vids, appreciate the support!

    • @MrMargaretScratcher
      @MrMargaretScratcher ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HoochMusic Ah cheers, great work! I've had my OP-1 for a couple of years now and still pretty much have a love hate relationship with it - I love tinkering sat in the garden, but then I get caught up in the arrangement side of things, especially overthinking things like "if I want to take this into ableton and finish it I need to think about keeping all the parts separate, and not chopping off reverb tails and delays etc...

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @MrMargaretScratcher mmm yeh I totally get you. My approach is to pretty much do it all in the OP-1 and accept that it will naturally lean in to a particular style of music and song structure. Although I released some tracks that started as sketches in the OP-1 and then went in to Cubase to finish them/add some more instrumentation/fx/variation.

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for the interest! It’s not something that I’ve actually released it’s just part of one of my OP-1 sets.

    • @oviedo5554
      @oviedo5554 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a sampler or the kick bass,snare and hi-hat came out from the op-1 preset??

    • @HoochMusic
      @HoochMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oviedo5554 drums and bass were sequenced using the OP-1 endless sequencer and the melody is a sample that was chopped and sequenced in the OP-1. Aside from the sample, the sounds are all from the OP-1, either synth or sample.
