Today I’m taking you through the differences between three classic styles of sparkling wines, highlighting and explaining their differences. So next time you buy any of those, you’ll know better what you’re getting and why some are more expensive than others.
We’re looking at Champagne of course, and how it compares to two other very classic and famous sparkling wine styles; Cava from Spain & the very trendy Prosecco.

Fantastic information. I especially appreciated the bonus info at the end! I’m studying for the WSET so any extra tidbits like that are very valuable to me. Cheers! 🥂
I really enjoy your videos!
Portugal produces very good sparkling wines and much better than the prosecos are the Franciacortas frrom italy. Tnx for the vid!❤

What about Franciacorta?
Hi there, I've covered Franciacorta in this video right here: th-cam.com/video/ucSkOq16U-0/w-d-xo.html
I didn't include it here because 1- one can't include each and every sparkling wine in the world in one single video 2- Franciacorta is a small production compared to Champagne, Cava and Prosecco. This was meant to cover the large and broad sparking wine styles that are readily available worldwide. Cheers
You completely forgot the Franciacorta wines, which are much better than Cavas and Prosecco
Hi Sam, thanks for the note :) I did not forget Franciacorta, I love Franciacorta in fact. They make about 27K hectolitres of Franciacorta every year, while 3.5 MILLION hls of Prosecco are made, and I think about 2.6 MILLION hls of Champagne. For every 100 bottles of Champagne, there is less than a bottle of Franciacorta that is produced. I made a video about Franciacorta if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/ucSkOq16U-0/w-d-xo.html
Cheers 😊🥂
