I have the 48L on my 1290 SAR without racks. I just finished 900 miles in PA mostly offroad and they are perfect. I had my doubts but these bags had zero issues.

You're a credit to the motorcycling community by showing off less-known bags that are affordable and reliable. A lot of bikers who may have felt stuck getting the more expensive options at least now know that there are other choices available to them.

Sure no problem, honestly I think they are a great product. Maybe if someone was to travel around the world they would get the more expensive bags for piece of mind. But other brands are like 5times the price.

If you do upgrade to the new modular bags system, and if you have no use for these saddle bags, you could cut them open and make it into a similar system to the Mosko moto reckless mounting system.

The cheap stuff always works fine on the first ride.
It's the fifth ride, and the fifteenth, and the fiftieth rides, that tell the tale.
I've got a set of Nelson-Rigg throw-over saddlebags that were cheap. I got them for my first dirtbike 10+ years ago, and they've been the go-to piece of luggage that I use short-term whenever I get a new bike and don't have luggage for it. But after perhaps 10 rides, they developed a hole in the bag from dirt thrown up from common travel offroad, and stress from being loaded. Dirt grinding on nylon threads, flexing, wearing, fatiguing. I exercised Nelson-Rigg's warranty with them and got a new set and I still have the new set, but I'd rather have bags that just don't do that.
Rhinowalks are effectively built the same as the Rigg bags. As are many of the other cheap bags on Amazon.
Kriega, Mosko, Wolfman, and some others are not made like that. They don't fatigue from stress and dirt. Abrasion? Sure. But that's a totally different argument.

Have you seen these in person though? They are surprisingly well made. One of the guys on a adv ride I went on recently had them and everyone was impressed with the quality of them

Were they new? Of course they look nice when new.
Write back when they're 50 rides old. Let us know how they hold up at that point.

I also have some Kriga gear and thats super strong and great ,,,but it costs an arm and leg,,,,,, There has to be a middle ground .....ie middle price+middle performance

Rhinowalks get good reviews on T7 owner groups. I personally stick to Kriega, yes pricey, but quality is wow, up there with Mosko. Also very worth checking Lomo bags. Even better value for money than Rhinowalks and quality is sublime! Scottish made too!

    • @alrightdave6135

Lomo is cheap and cheerful. Quality is nowhere near kriega.

    • @nemerkha

@@alrightdave6135 i have both - OS system on my Tenere so OS bags, plus the R15 and R30 rucksacks etc, and i have Lomo bar bags that i leave on the bike with inexpensive stuff in them whereas i take my kriega stuff into my hotel room for obvious reasons. The Lomo are purely marketed as utilitarian waterproof bags and they work well in that matter with no added gimmicks. I have been using the bars bags on 3 bikes and a 40L Lomo dry bag for numerous camping trips and they do just fine!

    • @guille_snapshooter

i personally don't own any OS kriega luggage, but i do have a couple backpacks, and as you said the quality is just wow, the OS luggage looks fantastic, very clean for a soft luggage, and not to many straps to deal with, but, i think kriega has failed to deliver a universal OS Base ( the new one) , the original one has to little support and doesn't do well on big bikes.
thinking i might change bike and i dont like the idea of spending $200 again just to use the bags.

I do not agree ,,there is loads of gear at cheap prices... I will not overspend on stuff like this...I,d rather spend on fuel,,,rant over
