Four African countries have joined the Commonwealth (2 recently), Gabon, Rwanda, Togo and Mozambique - which were not part of the British Empire, they just see the benefits of being part of the club. Other counties with no colonial links to Britain have also declared an interest in joining. Several media outlets (who should know better) have confused nations replacing the British monarch as their head of state with leaving the commonwealth - only Ireland have done that, and Zimbabwe left before they could be thrown out. The Commonwealth is in fine health.

It's The Commonwealth - it hasn't been the British Commonwealth for years. Likewise the realms aren't subject to the British Crown - each Crown is entirely independent.

  • @Shkk

It's not British commonwealth............ It's The commonwealth of Nations. Don't confuse people between commonwealth realms and the commonwealth of Nations both are entirely different.

The commonwealth is totally not the same as Commonwealth realm, the commonwealth is just an international organisation in which all member states are equally involved, so the hypothesis is invalid.

Dude, I've tried to explain this too. Even combined environmental future planning, which is something the world desperately needs, is part of the modern commonwealth charter. I understand people having a problem with the historical roots in empire, truly. However, to just, relegate its progress and disband it... For the sake of an idiotic minority? Might very well be the epitaph of the human race.

As an Australian citizen of anglo/saxon/celtic heritage I reject the notion of being a subject of some foreigner. I'm a citizen, not a subject. Monarchy is an abomination if your value human dignity and democracy. We should dump the Windsors (Saxe-Coburg-Gotha), become a republic, and have an Australian head of state. One elected by the people or chosen by our elected representatives. Our head of state should not be the result of an accident of birth in a foreign family monopoly.
Also no interest being part of some 'British Commonwealth'. The remnants of an empire with a very mixed legacy. Centred around a monarch linked to one religion. Centred around a backwards nation that still has an upper house where the dependents of brutal landholding warlords inherit their position. Where the lower house of parliament's is for the "commoners".
Time to grow up and move beyond the legacy of a British gulag and toxic class system. We are more than that now. We are far from perfect, but better than that.

I have told you to Be STILL and Keep your PEACE. Our God is still working in Miraculous ways even if You can't SEE it. Why do you say that where is God? Don't you know that our Creator created you in His own image? (Genesis 1:27) like you He is a Living Being but is our God. You are a proof that there is a Higher being than all of us. Believe in Him as He is not a father of confusion (lies, deception, temptation) but a God of truth. Don't you know why we glorify God? it's because He wants to lead us to the Truth that He is the only TRUE God that LOVES you and wants you to have ETERNAL LIFE with Him in Heaven by walking in His ways (John 3:16; Matthew 7:13-14) repent and be born again.
Don't be afraid of what's happening in the world for God will never leave you nor forsakes you if you believe in Him. The fall of mankind happens because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve that is why trusting God with your situation even in difficult times helps you to not repeat the same mistake, He knows what is best for you as He is an omnipotent God. Remember that He is the creator of all living things that is why His wisdom and knowledge is immeasurable.

(His mom kept her place and to asked ...what was next. ) I think so in reviews of the British government situation. (Seems some new developments are sovereignty. This is next for 15 or 16 other nations...rather than control and ...then being demanding and setting standards, that nobody else needs or ...wants.) Just a thought from America this afternoon.
