I almost didn’t buy this foundation because of the negative reviews. But I’m glad I tried it. You have to try it for yourself. I put all of my skin care and my SPF…wait about 20 minutes and put this on with my fingers. It does not lift or slide on me. It’s light coverage but it perfects the skin and doesn’t get caught in my pores or my wrinkles. Who knows why it doesn’t work for everyone, but it surely does work for me. I have gotten so many compliments on my “skin” not my “foundation”. I have been loving that. I’d say give it a try.

Dear Marnie, Jones Road is geared for mature skin that is dry. Not for your age group. You don't need oil based moisture on your skin. I love JR. A tinted balm looks and feels good on me.

I have dry, mature skin and live in Northern CA. Today was my first day wearing it and unlike you, I loved it! I ordered shade 1 (porcelain) and was debating if i should've bought shade 2. After washing my face I used minimal base products. I used Avene moisturizer and waited a few minutes. I bought the scooper and dug out about 1/2 the amount you did and just applied it to one side of my face. I applied with my fingers only. It never felt oily or sticky. It felt just a bit tacky. I worked from home today and wasn't going anywhere so I didn't use concealer, blush, or do my eyes; i just used a bit of Tower 28 Blonzer. I was very happy with how it appeared and felt throughout the entire day. All it did was blur my skin and that's what I think its supposed to do...just blur. It's not even a light foundation at all. It didn't get greasy which was great. The next time I wear it I will apply it with light concealer, easy eye make-up and maybe a light dusting of blush and highlighter. I'm just happy with my no make-up make-up look. Maybe it should be called INF instead (it's not foundation) but I like the name WTF 😉. Watch Shelbey Wilson's review on TH-cam. Its thorough and she really liked it (to get another opinion).

I purchased WTF, face pencil, lip and cheek stick, bronzing powder, and translucent powder. I watched videos of Bobbi applying these products on others. For WTF she used it sparingly where needed and used her fingers to spread the foundation over the skin. She used generous amounts of face pencil where needed and tapped it in with her fingers. I started with moisturized and sunscreend skin. I applied WTF sparingly, and face pencil generously where needed. I put the lip and cheek stick on by swiping it on my cheeks and tapping it in with my fingers. The only thing I used a brush for was the bronzing powder. I did not notice any stickiness or tackiness at all, so I didn't even use the translucent powder. My makeup was beautiful, it lasted all day. For reference I'm 43, have combination skin, and and the skin around my eyes is very sensitive. My skin felt amazing with this makeup. I'm totally sold. I'm going to order the miracle balm next and try it out.

I really like the WTF foundation. I’m 57 and it works so well with just the WTF and a little concealer on my face. Reminds me of the BB tinted spf 25 balm I used to use that was discontinued. Don’t especially care about it being clean, I just like it. Maybe it’s better on mature skin.

Well, I just received my two shades of Miracle Balm today. I’m 70 and my skin is much more dry than when I was younger. Perhaps I’m not very sophisticated as far as cosmetics go, but I’m THRILLED with these balms! They give a nice glow, coverage that is perfect for me, and the tackiness seems to go away fairly quickly. I’ll be buying one of the more”sun-kissed” colors when summer arrives!

I actually love some of these products. I have a few of the balms that I use on days I don’t wear makeup- I work 12 hour shifts at the hospital and I don’t want to wear makeup those days. I generally tap them on my lids or apples of my cheeks. I have a very emollient moisturizer so to be fair, I never noticed that the concealer was dry until I used it in the middle of the day. However, it does a great job covering my rosacea. I do recognize that the coverage is light- but that’s my preference despite my obviously aging skin. And the hair thing, well, my hair is always up anyway so it never bothered me.
I can see why people would not like it. But I do quite enjoy the tinted balms- they really liven up my skin and add a healthier glow to my skin. I think the secret is the skin care I put on under it and the fact that I wear all of it with a totally bare face. I also live in San Antonio and in winters my face is dry and in summer the humidity is murder on my skin.

Sixty nine year old grandma here. I basically own at least one of each of the entire line of Jones Road, as does my thirty four year old daughter, and makeup lovers that she and I both are, we both really like many of the products. Both of us have skin more on the dry side. Products that I personally will not purchase again are the face pencils and the eyebrow pencil. I prefer a powder for my old brows, and, regarding the face pencils, unless your skin is amazingly well hydrated (which mine apparently never is), they pull and drag and look blotchy. I have really never worn foundation my entire life, as I hate the feel of my entire facial skin being covered with something, so I cannot attest to the merits of the WTF. My daughter felt it made her break out, so that's a definite NO from her on that. I LOVE the eyeshadows in all of their forms: powder, cream pot, and liquid shimmer. I also love the eyepencils in brown and black but feel the Onyx and Violet pull when applied, whereas the brown and black slide on quite easily. LOVE the cheek and lip chubby stick in Bright Coral. None of the other colors really do much for my warm skin tone, but several look great on my daughter's cool skin tone. Love the lip balm color stick in Just Peachy. Most of the colors in this line are geared toward cool skin tones, IMO, and many therefore do not work for me but look amazing on my daughter. Love the mascara. Love the oil stick and the Hippie Stick. Love the eye cream. Love the Miracle Balm in Tawny, Bronze, and Golden Hour. They do stay tacky to the touch, but I don't mind, and since I am a widow who isn't looking for a man, there's no one else but me touching my face. 😜 Hope this helps someone. P.S. I never liked anything from Bobbi Brown's original line of makeup except for the Bobbi fragrance.

So funny. I am 67 with a 32 yr old daughter and we both love the WTF and the miracle balm. I have dry skin but the pencil is fine for me. The real 10 stars of the foundation is that it doesn’t look like I have foundation on. No wrinkles full of make up. It just makes my face more polished. I’m amazed and so happy with it. I will be trying the rest of her products.

I understand your negative attitude of the products, as you said this is not your first impression; you already tried it.
A few things. I think the WTF was the wrong color for you. And seems you may not have done homework on the product line and how this the
product line greatly benefits mature skin.
Your skin looks young and naturally dewy. My skin has lost it's moisturization, color, very dry, crepe, not dewy. If I have a no make-up day, my skin looks aged.
From my understanding, this Jones Road line is especially for aged skin, although it can benefit anyone. When I was younger, my skin was like an oil factory, and this product line, at least the balms, I would not want. But now my skin is completely different.
How I use the balms. I moisturize my skin, and then use the moisture stick, and then the miracle balm; puts a moisturizing sheen to my skin that I could not get with moisturizers only. As for the tackiness, I lightly touch the parts of my face with a rag where my hair will touch, and those areas are less tacky. And as the day progresses, if a wrinkle area starts looking dry, I rub the Hippie Stick on the area and it seems to erase the wrinkles.
Wearing the Jones Road puts the look of my skin, from dry, crepe, no color, to sheen, dewy, nice color, bronze sheen if I want, and when I see myself in my car mirror, I'm amazed at how good this product line is.
This is my experience, 60 years old. I hope this product line is never discontinued. And it does not need to be real expensive; when you find the colors you like, stick with those.
And the WTF is wonderful! ...for me. A quick no makeup day, no moisturizer first, just the WTF and then a blush on the cheeks and lips, and you're done, dewy and pretty. And I like to also do eyebrow color and the slightest bit of eye color.
The only thing I don't care for is the lip gloss, because it dries my lips. But I like everything else and will get more colors. And I think the WTF is great!!
As far as clean products, I feel that is a big deal. Not torturing animals is very important. And bad cancerous chemicals will seep into the skin, and the body needs to deal with it; sometimes puts it off into a tumor in order to spare other organs, and the tumor could be placed in the brain or anywhere in the body. I will sacrifice the perfect look of a product with bad ingredients, for a clean product that perhaps does not look as nice but is better for the body and there is integrity in the making of it.
I feel the Jones Road is a wonderful product line, and I am so glad it is a clean product.
For any readers wondering. If you have mature skin, I would give this line a try. I'm very glad I did. I'm glad I did not see this review until after I tried it; I may have been discouraged and not try it, and I would be at a loss of the benefits I receive, which helps my skin look younger and fresh. I do skin care for the health of my skin, and this product line is an added goodness and makes a good difference, for me.

Thanks for sharing! I have the WTF in Fair and love it, but I’m a mature lady (61). My skin is much drier now where my skin was very oily in my younger days! I also have the Miracle Balm in Dusty Rose and would like to try some of the other colors. I’m not real crazy about the face pencils, because I like creamier products. I do agree that this line is better suited for mature skins and I like that it is CLEAN beauty and cruelty free. I think Jones Road Beauty emphasis is less is more or more of a non-make-up look (dewy & natural)!

OH HALLELUJAH 🙌👏!!! Someone who isn’t reluctant to say what they want and love from makeup!! I make no apologies to my 31 year old daughter that “ I like what I like “ about the makeup , and the brands I’ve purchased for years , and that they’ve stood the test of time, even as of late for good reason: NARS , MAC , etc . Me personally, as a 56 year old neglectful skin care ,childhood sun worshiper , and who doesn’t make “ clean beauty “ my top priority , be shamed because I don’t !!!
I had an extremely difficult 9 years of medical issues that deprived me of delving into one of the things I love , which was makeup, and NOW I’m going full boar back into the makeup world 🤗💪! Everything about skincare & makeup just brings me to my happy place and all the wonderful and beautiful things that evolve each day from it 👌.
So again, THANK YOU MARNIE for your genuine transparency, honesty , and your thoughtful delivery for subscribers like me 🙏❤️! It’s comforting to know there’s women like you still out there on TH-cam that make it enjoyable to watch 😊♥️

I’m going to try a few more times but the foundation is sticky as is the miracle balm too. I do like the color sticks and hope that the hydrating quality of the foundation and balm will help my aging skin. I am close to 70 (68+few months) and have to agree with this young woman. I hated the WTF line. Also, the smell was off putting; the castor oil is being touted on the web as a miracle worker, but for me, it was not so great-and I tried the 30-day challenge. You do look amazing with it on. I am 48, used to have oily skin, now is normal, and I love all the products. The WTF is just so natural looking, but do enhance the skin, without looking like having foundation on. Afterwards I apply the face pencils where I need them and they go on smoothly over the hidration of the WTF. If I find my face to be too dewey, I just slightly apply loose powder. The miracle balm I use as a blush and on my lips, and again, if it's too shinny, I just bloat with a tissue and it lasts for a long time, and keeps my skin moisturized through out the day and just makes it beautiful. The eye shadows are amazing, the lip gloss is very nice and non sticky at all, the mascara is one of the best I have ever tried. Lip pencil and cream blush are also very nice. And I love the scent of the WTF. We need to try thing for ourselves.

I agree 100% with you regarding the Miracle Balm. Sometimes I find that the concealer/pencil can drag, but not always. I don't have the WTF because I have combination/oily skin. I don't think that I will get that product. There are better foundations out there. Her bronze Miracle Balm does, in fact, help cover the redness on my skin. I’m glad that you made this video because I’m tired of hearing all of the positive and never getting to commiserate with someone about what is not working. I have light combination skin.
Like you, I agree that the WTF is too light to make a serious impression when that’s the goal of your look. WTF is for casual days at home but not for moments when you want to look stunning. That said, $44 is a pretty penny to look nice at home! I agree with you on the face pencils - I bought some of the Bobbi Brown concealer from her namesake company that she sold and it performed 10x better than the JRB face pencils and I have shades 1 & 2.
That said, I love all of the miracle balms. I think you should have tried dusty rose or magic hour. After watching this video, I got out my au natural to see if it was all that bad. And I loved how luminous my skin looked. (Granted, I had just washed my face and moisturized it with CeraVe products.) I am own all of the miracle balms and I love how radiant I look in them. I glow and I feel beautiful when wearing them. I encourage you to send back the au natural and exchange it for a shade. You also need to warm a small amount in your fingers and gently pat it on. You’ll feel differently about the miracle balm if you do that.
Thanks for your review! I enjoyed it and knew that you preferred a bit more than what the plain Jane miracle balm would offer you. Keep trying it….it’s really awesome.

The results were lovely. But now that it’s getting warmer (and by warmer, I mean mid-70s and zero humidity), there’s no way I can use it. It just slides off my face. • @vwiccy
    @vwiccy ปีที่แล้ว +4

I did so much want to love this product, and I don’t think you are using it correctly, which is why *you* don’t like it - it’s really just a tinted moisturizer for dry mature skin (after menopause probably) - really quite luxurious plush feeling, like a fresh spa treatment of no makeup, but a tiny bit of coverage - you can only use a very thin layer bc “IT IS MOISTURIZING” LOL - I’m not sure the miracle balm and WTF can be used together for myself… that is really too much stickiness - actually, not only should the product be used thinly, but probably not even applied to the entire face - just WTF thinly applied in the middle, spread a little out, and miracle dabbed on the cheeks - you can see, it’s not really used like “makeup” so can’t be reviewed the same way
However what I don’t hear people say in their reviews… bc they either hate it immediately bc they apply it like makeup and give an honest review, like this one… or they don’t (😮)… but either way, they don’t come back and say how it’s worked for them over time… unfortunately WTF foundation degrades 6 months or less - it separates and forms hard hard pieces of, I assume, the moisturizer, so the entire product can not be applied without flakes of these hard particles sluffing off my face - I tried my best to melt it between my fingers before applying, but they just kept, getting harder over time, and it became impossible to melt - if you look very carefully at the promo videos, you can actually see these little chunks of the product in the videos -,well they harden -
I was so so,disappointed- the jones road customer service were excellent; first providing me a new WTF even though my issues with the product developed 3 months or so later - however the replacement was worse and had hard particles right away so then they just refunded me - well, I was sad bc I loved using the product on no makeup days, which is my usual - or even as a primer for my dry skin - only as a primer without sunscreen for “inside days” (it’s a moisturizer, so too many moisturizers will make it too heavy and sticky ) - sometimes even at night as a last step cream, bc it actually makes my skin feel nicer after using! Like true skin care (oh I had serums on too at night, so I was using it more as an occlusive, but still, nicer and thinner than Vaseline, and prettier) - but I can’t get past the hard particles flaking off and dropping off onto the floor or my clothes - oh sadness - why this can’t be fixed… why… it would be so nice
it really does make the skin feel lovely and sometimes I try and sort through the hard particles and use a little - it has nice skin care ingredients for moisturizing with a slight tint (well, my skin feels nice after using the product) - the miracle, balm… I can take it or leave it- the color, they matched me with had glitter and I should have sent it back,- no way older women want a glitter balm all over the face - I mean, no one wants glitter all over the face - I don’t know why they have that color - it does seem pricey for what it is, IMO - and the sticks… well, they’re nice “to go” touch ups for me… but tug on the skin - I guess they’re supposed to go with the highly moisturizing WTF, but it still tugs and catches on my dry skin and expensive for what it is
Just my 2 cents … from someone who tried and tried … I really want to find updates on someone somewhere telling us why what how where or when the chunks will be fixed… bc I just don’t get how anyone can handle the chunks! - and I got it twice and SEE it in the promo videos… so I know it’s there - *they are there* … so WTF is going on … that is what I want to know 🧐 - how is the product continuing with these flaky flakes - I just want it without the flakes 😢
