After several tows she won't be able to afford to live there and will have to move. Put a towing zone sign besides the handicap sign so tow truck can haul vehicles away that don't have handicap plates or placard in the vehicle.
You can't just call to have it towed. You have to call the cops, then they will either ticket it or have it towed. The tow company isn't just going to leap into action because some rando called saying someone was illegally parked.

The fact that the person referenced her not having two legs in her cruel letter shows that she knows who she was taking the space from, which makes it all the worse. My husband is handicapped. We have our sticker in full display. I hate when non handicap ppl use our parking spaces. I am super proactive when it comes to the rights of these ppl! I am in your corner and I will fight for everyone’s rights.
Me and my mum nearly got into this argument with an elderly couple for “stealing a handicapped spot” the man came and knocked on the window and said that these spots and specifically designed for handicapped persons, my mum was saying she was just getting the plaquard as I don’t own a car myself and the man kept saying he didn’t believe her and his wife shouldn’t have to walk. I tell my mother I’m going to get out of the car. First thing I do is what I normally do, put my prosthetic shin and foot down and step into it until it clicks. I honestly never notice anyone in handicapped spot without the sticker or the plates. Maybe people in my area are just better in that way. I do check often, because I used to need the spots, but now that I don't I still look.

It cost $349.00 cash plus a $30.00 lyft and a call to work stating she is going to be late (she works at the Pentagon) I apologize soo much to my daughter and to the neighbor when she came home. The neighbor said her daughter called... Man..I wish we did have someone as nice as this young lady to have only put a note first.. I would have put a note on her car thanking her and left a gift card to dunkin donuts..haha
At my old apartment I had one parking spot in a parking garage and it was very small. My rent was very expensive and if you didn't make it in your spot you had to park across a 4 lane busy street. Someone kept parking in my spot or taking up the 2 spots by parking in the middle and I tried to get it towed multiple times. The towing company said I had to get it approved by my apartment company first and the apartment had to call them about he issue. It was always happen over a weekend or at night when the apartment office was closed. 🙃

Well the towing company my daughter's complex used had nononononono issues with removing my car and what really hurt was it was a couple days after Christmas ..money spent waiting on next paycheck.. It's called "Reasonable Accommodation". She has every right to the space.
This is a one-sided story. She says you don't get what you want by bullying but maybe that's exactly the lesson she herself got by putting a nasty note down first. We don't know what the other person's explanation is. I got a nasty note from a neighbor once when I was new and didn't realize the spots had numbers. I didn't deserve that. We just don't know what HER OWN note said.
She does have every right to that parking space since she applied for it.
I've since seen a number of videos about this same story and the Apartment Complex Leasing Office has already put up signs that have given the Police Department permission to tow away vehicles that occupy these designated space without the customary 24-Hour Notice. Ever since this story has aired, this woman hasn't had any further trouble with her neighbor. Obvious the message has been sent that the neighbor's car will be towed if she violates the posted signs.
@@C.Church we don’t, but what we do know and can confirm from the note we read is that person who took a *handicapped* parking spot did not have a placard. Per the ADA they should not have been in that spot and deserved to receive a note letting them know that.

The person who left the note should be evicted for abusive behavior, and should be given a blanket party on their way out, by all the other neighbors.

Apparently, suspected abuse can be reported to DMV Investigations. My state, CA's, DMV has a web complaint form allowing uploading of documentation, which I presume includes image files.
If it's public street parking, it's the jurisdiction of the local police dept. Their non-emergency # can be called and the car's location, description, and plate # can be reported directly. As rude as that note was, however, I'm glad that she wasn't named, because she'd probably get a barrage of death threats every time this video surfaces. And that's not cool.
@@coalblooded Yeah, disproportionate retribution isn't cool, it's a battlefield.
Have there been repercussions? If she's not on social media, I doubt she even knows about it.
Should've just called the cops to give her a ticket and have the car towed away 🤷♂️
Cops don't have time to deal with this petty ass shit! They got faaaar better things to do, call your landlord. They are payed to make their tenants lives hospitable.😒
@@aaliyahrammstein6674 Annnnd, from what I have read, the cops should be called to get the car both ticketed and towed. And to check to see if the car owner has any warrants etc. It may depend on your state, town, or county as to whether someone other than the property owner/management can call.
Why is it so hard to talk to someone? Why get the cops involved? Why waste resources? People need to grow up and become adults and learn how to handle any type of situation. The amputee did just that. She was being nice and giving her a chance, without getting anyone involved. Many people of a rare variety show mercy or kindness. That nasty lady should be thankful she wrote a note and didn't tow her car away. Everyone wants to be right but no one wants to be wrong.
@Cynical Asshole Who hurt you?
@@CoopertheTrooper-xx2rq I've been assuming that when people have been saying to get the car towed/call police, etc, that they mean to do that if that car is ever in that disabled parking place again (without a placard/plate.) I don't think most people have a problem with the lady leaving the reminder/explanatory note first. That is the polite thing to do.
I actually stopped a lady the other day and let her know that she forgot her placard (no disabled plate). She gave me a funny look and said "yes" and went on into the store. Made me so mad. (I didn't follow up with it because it was late at night, with probably 10 other dis. parking spots open, not to mention all the other parking, and the store was closing in about 10 mins.) Either way, still not right. Btw, I was driving a car with a placard, parked 3 spaces up from her,(farther away) because the placard belongs to a family member. I was limping, had a horrible back ache, and wheezing- could barely walk. If I could park where I did, she could, too.
9 years later, I'm watching this. I can't believe the degree of narcissism in that note writer. 😳 I hope the lady with the prosthetic never runs into that type of pathetic person again. That was horrible.
I pray that person never has something difficult to deal with..absolutely appalling.. you get everyone’s support .. ❤️
Post a picture on Facebook showing the car in your spot....EXPOSE THEM NOW!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
@C E I missed that! So, why didn't they post what the results were?
Yep. Post the photo of her (you can tell it's a female's handwriting) car and license plate next to a full photo of that VILE note. I'd find out who she is and make about 100 photocopies and send it to her employer, her relatives and her friends. I'd also enlarge it and tape it to her car and her front door.

Snodge Kat well to be fair we don’t know what the person looks like on the outside
Snodge Kat It would be nice if the manager of the apartment complex would send a memo to all the residents stating that the parking spot now is going to be used by this woman and maybe ask her to pay for the memos since it is for her. That way there would be no issues at all. Yeah that would work.
@Taylor Johnson Basically a "NO U" reply
fuck even you could treat people like dirt for all i know
Just got this in my recommended can’t believe this was almost 10 years ago. I hope she’s doing better now.
I am a caregiver to a woman who has two leg braces, two crutches and is disabled from childhood polio. She can't drive, but whoever drives her normally parks in front of her apartment, its closer than the handicap parking spot. One day the neighbor took the parking and we tried to ask if she could please move her car for us, she became extremely loud, obnoxious and yelled her head off. Quite shocking and upsetting and made my client cry. I took my her to Housing Authority to request a reasonable parking accommodation. She now has her own handicap parking spot, indicating it belongs to my clients specific apartment number. Thanks nasty neighbor, it worked out better for my client.
Pic of plate and call your local tow company. Two positives from one negative.
Call the police to come issue a ticket!
Most places only the police or property owner can call a tow company.
Ikr
We had 1 company that did all the towing at my old apartment.
@@HeyCrabman14 Great! Except that there is no number posted on the sign. Better to have management call police if this spot was illegally taken, again. Tickets, check for outstanding warrants, & tow might make the person realize how much people "care" for such behavior.

Amy Butcher she responding to her. Harassing would be multiple nots every day nonstop
@@karinadeleon1346 flagrantly parking in her spot plus the note constitutes harassment.
That's a retarded line of thought
Synthmilk well first it’s not her parking spot (dose not have her name on it) it’s a handicap parking spot for anyone with a disability, she so happens to be the only handicap using it. Still it’s illegal for the other lady to park in it, she wrong for that. Now it is not harassment. By definition harassment is aggressive pressure or intimidation. She was never aggressive but she was stern and never threatened so there was no intimidation. She told her she would report her. For something to be a threat it must be a hostile action that was said will be done to the person receiving the threat but reporting someone to the owners of the place is not hostile. Now don’t get me twisted that lady’s stupid for saying she would report the handicap woman.... she was the one breaking the law but harassment was not a thing.

That’s good but a no contact order would be better for this as they can’t park in that spot

My mom was in an assisted care facility for a while for rehab after a stroke. There was a woman in the same facility (I don't know why she was in rehab) who had a caregiver who would come to visit every day. The patient had a Handicapped tag- thing for her car. The caregiver, who was not at all handicapped, would always park in a Handicapped spot. Yes the car had a tag, but the person whom the tag was for was not there. I put a sign on her windshield, in big dark letters, facing out so everyone could read it without any trouble. I wrote "I'm the driver of this vehicle and I'm not handicapped. I'm just an asshole."
I had a tag for using with my mom. I never used it if I didn't have my mom with me. I have a friend with a severely disabled child. She has a tag. She doesn't even always park in a Handicapped spot even when one is available.

I remember when I was handicapped for 3 months due to a car accident in 2018. I was living at home at the time and the other neighbors were very friendly and always lended me a helping hand. The neighbor next door to me was very rude and always looked outside at me as I was walking to get the mail, she was always right there at her front door window just staring right at me. I went in front of her house and I accidentally scratched her sidewalk with the walker I was using for assistance. She comes running out of her house and yelling at me. I apologized to her and said I am sorry but I can’t help it right now and I am unable to walk. She yelled at me and was calling me names because I couldn’t walk.
