How did you not pick up that Baltimore oriole with mechanical engineer in hand? Especially after grabbing the gnatcatcher it would have been easy to get down.
I enjoyed this one but MAN did I want you to play Kakapo, take food and then see your bonus cards you got from it at game end. Then you could’ve played the kiwi to sort of filter your bonus cards, or if you were satisfied with your cards (and with 8 pt site selection expert you should be) you could play the spoonbill. It’s definitely not the safer play but I think at the very least you end up breaking even in the points lost by not laying eggs.
12 points is a lot of ground to make up, and it forces Kiwi discard Oologist. If the eggs don't change EoR it is close but I think I pretty much always take the 12 points and maxed Oologist.
