The bouncing ball , angle of the swing and nature of the bat itself (heavier and bigger then a baseball bat) means a good hit is controlled and the batter keeps his shape .. The harder you swing the more likely you are to loose your shape/form and mis-hit it (possibly get out) … The batter just trying to middle it (hit the ball in the sweet spot of the. bat) and time it (hit the ball at the perfect time to maximise the angle and velocity off the bounce)… The best biggest hits often look effortless, it’s the sound you should be listening to as it makes a very different t sound when u get it right … Re: How long they bat for, this does not impact their decision as to how hard they swing .. They’re not worried about getting tired (through they do - mentally more then physically ) they just want to keep form , time , and bat in a way that is best for your team at that time (eg make runs fast and have a higher risk of getting out or make runs slower and have a much less risk of getting out) .. 20/20’- a batter can bat for as long as 1.5-2hrs straight…; One Day, a batter can bat for as long as ~5hrs ; Test match: batters can bat for 8 hrs a day and practically at most 2 full days (so 16hrs total) … a typical good innings in a test to score 50 takes about 45 mins to 2 hrs l… to make a 100, you typically need 3 to 6 hrs of batting …
Proper bounce, nice yorker, length good-produced slow bowling can get any renowned batsman out.
