Been a professional 2D rigger for years but had yet to build my own master controllers on a project. This and your grid master controller video were a super easy way to learn the process. Thank you!
I need to get back to those master controllers tutorials and check them when I get newer version of Toon Boom. It looks very useful and it would be great to know how to use it in actual animation process. Thank you so much for your tutorials. Looking forward to see more of them in the future :)
I'm only confused by one thing. The User Guide shows 'flipped' poses for building a Master Controller. If I use a peg to flip the deformer something always goes wrong. I don't know how to flip the deformer, and if I just flip the drawing without the deformer I loose my in-betweens. So, 'flipped' remains a mystery. It looks like I need to pose left and right sides with the deformer - doubling the setup time. I really like your channel. I've learned a lot.
Do you have a video of how to toggle between differetn head angles if they are each a different drawing or rig? Like if you want the head to turn so we see the back?
@@ZeBirdBrain Yes, i found how to make that. It's really simple. You must animate the linethickness with the toon boom script on many frame and then attribute it a master controller. That's all! Thx to your answer.^^
One thing I am having trouble with is getting sliders to work right on my 3D rotating rig. I like your workaround with the eye slider by not using deformers for the rotation- just for the blinking animation. I'm finding that to not work on the current rig Im building though- particularly the mouth. I'm wondering how 3D rigs with various types of mouth expressions are created.
Your tutorials are a Godsend for self-taught people like me. Thanks a lot.
glad it helped!

Is it possible to create a master control for walking, jumping, or any movement in general?
I love your tutorials.
Not that I know of mhmmm
you should reach out to Desk@toonboom.com and ask em if it's possible, if not, they will make it a feature request !
Thanks for the clear explanation! Newbie question. How do you actually animate it on the timeline?
Oh boy... you practice and eventually get it right

I have a question, is it possible to make a master controller on linethickness?
I believe so?
