6:45 That definitely puts them in stark contrast with Tesla, which is run by engineers, or GM, which is run by accountants (essentially). It really speaks to the motives of each company.
Really appreciated the unique and useful commentary on Ohlins v. base suspension (12:38 onwards). I live in an area where roads are horrible and the noise and compliance of tires, wheels, suspension rule out almost anything sporty.

Great review! For a more general audience it's also worth mentioning - if we compare it to tesla - for road trips - the Electrify America charging network is a bit less convenient since a lot of the chargers are at Walmarts whereas tesla puts them more around shopping centers. But the national coverage is similar, tesla wins but not by much. Again appreciate a review from someone who who knows so much about EVs
Nice job Kyle, thanks! The visibility out of the hatch window could not be as bad as that of the Model Y; Model 3 may have better rear visibility, though. This car would be my number 1 target if it was offered near south west Florida. P.S. I noticed you commented on the Electrify America charging station at south Naples. Close to where I live.

I really like the GUI , the only disappointing part to me would be the efficiency and the small buffer, if the numbers from Polestar are real the buffer would be almost half of a model 3 (72.5kWh usable over 78kWh gross) and combined with a consumption 20% higher may not spell well with battery degradation.
Hey Kyle, great review! Super excited to see your hot take on the Polestar 2. Looking forward to when you get the chance to do some charging tests on it. There's $10,000 in tariffs on the car. If it was sold for the same price as in Canada ($50k USD), which is a better buy? Polestar 2 or Model 3D Long Range?
Would switch to this car, but the supercharger peace of mind gives the m3 the edge for me, even in Europe, even in end of 2020. Ahh. And I prefer the m3 Monitor and the Netflix while charging in winter.
Really impressed with the look and features of this car. Hoping the dealer network grows or will they be offered at certain Volvo dealers? Wonder how people feel about 60k for a Chinese built car? Will production transition to Sweden?
They will be offered at Polestar locations and serviced through them as well. All operated by partner Volvo franchise owners already. It’ll start in a few cities and expand nationwide over the next two years to have a full network. One of the hardest parts of launching a new brand is building the support / sales network. In europe and China they will be serviced through partner Volvo dealers, an average distance of 25 miles or so from 99% of reservations. In the US, we can’t do this due to dealership franchise laws. - Kyle
Nice review! Pity that you couldn't test the charging speed. European tests showed a classic curve with a significant throttle down to about 85KW near 35% SoC.
I really like the Polestar 2 compared to the Tesla LR AWD, but the thoughts of having to deal with the CCS Network instead of the Tesla Supercharging network has me leaning towards the Tesla. Every other EV out there will be competing for the CCS chargers. There will be a lot of EV's hitting the market over the next couple of years and they might become very busy and expensive.
@@markplott4820 Yeah, I just finished spending a couple of hours reading through reports of many users experiences along an 800km stretch between Ottawa and Windsor Ontario, Canada. There were A LOT of reports of DC fast chargers not working for assorted reasons. "Electrify Canada" also seems to be very expensive to use. $1 connection fee + $1.07/minute over 125kw speed. Not sure what Tesla charges here.
I would buy this today if there was a Space service center where I live. With it only being in NY and California, that really limits who can buy this car. They need to find a way for Volvo dealerships to service these cars.
Legally it’s not possible in the US - they are taking that approach in regions that don’t have the same dealership franchise laws that we have in the US - Kyle
This car is doing 125 kw on dc charging. It's major step down point is 80 percent, pretty good charging speed but it's not like a e tron, more like Mercedes eqc .
Best looking EV? Style is subjective. I think the interior is great, but what’s with the Subaru Outback lower cladding? My guess is the designers are trying to visually reduce the thickness of the vehicle. IMO it doesn’t work. Glad they made it a 5 door, although those rear pillars make for huge blind spots. Range and weight will need to be addressed on future models. Also, manually adjustable suspension and steering wheel in a vehicle at this price is disappointing.

Why do car reviewers insist on reviewing "performance" models when probably 90% of owners will be driving the standard version? Boringly rant-on about speed & fastest accelleration....who cares? Unusable in the real world.
