My First Time Watching Insidious The Red Door 2023 - I was in tears! (re-upload)

Insidious: The Red Door (2023) is the fifth installment in the Insidious horror franchise and serves as a direct continuation of the Lambert family's storyline. Directed by Patrick Wilson, who also reprises his role as Josh Lambert, the film dives into the haunting past of the Lambert family, particularly focusing on the aftermath of their experiences in the Further.
The story is set ten years after the events of Insidious: Chapter 2. Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) and his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) have tried to move on from their traumatic experiences in The Further, the parallel dimension filled with malevolent spirits. Both have undergone hypnotic memory suppression to forget their encounters. However, unresolved trauma and the lingering dark forces start to resurface as Dalton heads off to college.
Dalton, now an art student, begins to regain memories of his horrifying past through his paintings, inadvertently reopening the gateway to The Further. This resurgence of memories unleashes old terrors and once again endangers the Lamberts. As father and son grapple with their connection to the spirit world, they must confront the dark forces and face their demons to put an end to the haunting once and for all.
The movie revolves around themes of family, trauma, and suppressed memories, while bringing back the signature supernatural elements and eerie atmosphere of the franchise. It delves deeper into the origins of The Further and introduces new layers of horror, particularly revolving around the mysterious Red Door and what lies beyond it.
