By showing Patience and Kindness to the Counter Person first He or she knows I mean well and appreciate their position. 2. They are more likely to treat me real not with bologna! 3. They may give me even more consideration during my stay. Be Sincere. Do not Patronize or attempt to sound sincere if you are not sincere. Mutual respect makes a huge stress free conversation !

I would say is because he is a teacher and he knows that people watching his videos are probably not native English speakers, so his pronunciation is clear and maybe he is speaking a little bit slower than in a normal conversation.
