I enjoyed the authenticity of this, as Daniel forgets the gifts given by Jodorowsky.

First time i see Mr. Pinchbeck, on the other side i know Alejandros´s work over 20 years. Personally i don´t know if i could had the balls to ask Alejandro to spend a day with me. I participate as an extra in his last film "Endless poetry" and have the opportunity to be close to him several times, but yes, as somebody said in a comment before, it is very intimidating to say a word to a genius and don´t be repetitive or sound fool, but actually, long time ago, i had my "kodak moment" with him after a "Cabaret Místico" when he was signing books, we spend around 3 minutes together in a room and i didn´t find nothing better than gave him a lemon, as a symbol of gratitude for his work and how affects and change my life forever, yes a lemon! it was everything i had in my bag at the moment, but it was a special lemon, my mother had given it to me to put it on my salad and my mother is everything to me, so it was a lemon full of mother´s love, that´s was what i thought when a gave it to him, well, so i tell him the full story of why i was giving to him such a particular present, he as usually does, had an answer to that, he laugh and told me " so then this is an optimistic lemon" end of the conversation!...i couldn't say nothing else but "yes it is"...i gave him a hug and that was all. When an artist´s work impress you so deeply, you just don´t have the right words to initiate a talk. I don´t know how well Mr Pinchbeck were familiarized with it, but i felt it was a nice conversation, "you can´t take all the juice of such a big fruit in one day". But anyway, congrats to "el gringo" to have the balls to do this, i enjoyed it

Pinchbeck forgets Jodorowsky's gifts, and Jodorowsky forgets Pinchbeck's name. Perfect ending.

Pinchbeck is fools gold. Jodorowsky is the real thing transmuted over time from base matter into golden spiritual essence that permeates his entire being. You can see it radiating from him! Pinchbeck is all talk, lacking in true spiritual understanding. I also found it sad and awkward to watch. Here is this legendary figure overflowing with the wisdom of the ages and Daniel can't recognize it!

I don't get all the criticism of Pinchbeck. Alejandro is over 80 years old, he's had time to amass wisdom and experience. Daniel is an excellent writer and a nice guy and I think he came off well. Any American meeting a Spanish speaking director in Paris would feel a little out of place. But that's what makes this documentary charming, two artists from different worlds meeting. I started as a Pinchbeck fan and got turned on to Jodorowsky through watching this when it was first posted. Thanks.

Meeting Jodorowsky in such a personal way is probably pretty damned intimidating.

No goodbye hug ! That's too bad. I hope Daniel came out of the experience humbled. I watch the entire series you posted here and i found it odd Daniel didn't fully open up to Alejandro. I met my friend Peter Hale 2 weeks ago for the first time. We've been corresponding for 4 years. Peter was Allen Ginsberg's assistant and is in charge of Ginsberg's estate. It was one of the greatest days of my life to meet Peter. And i brought my lovely wife and best friend from school to meet with him.

This is beautiful, thank you. I think Daniel's a little bit confused, but he'll be alright. We're all going to be

@AnonLewinsky. I know, this is what I thought myself. It's strange that such a man is working on a revolution to change the concsciousness of minds of the world when he seems to have done no work on himself. When Jodorowsky shows him the letter from when his mother told him she loved him for the first time, Pinchbeck turns around and asks what's in the boxes on the floor.

*I found this quite sad to watch. Jodorowsky wanted to open his heart but Pinchbeck seemed incapable of recieving it.

I think this was a good documentary. Pinchbeck was a little chatty at first but I think he got a little better towards the end. Also, the language barrier really doesn't help. English is Jodorowsky's second or third language?
I'd like to think I would be calm and collected if I ever met Jodorowsky, though being such a big inspiration to me, I think I would also be a little overwhelmed.
Looking at him in these videos though, he really doesn't give off any intimidating sort of vibes.

jodorowsky expresses himself more fluently and better in spanish his english doesn't do him much justice but whatever he still sounds amazing doesn't he!!... Daniel seems like he has a closed mind to everything else besides probably dying in 2012, when Jodorowsky says this is nice is a conversation he means it, that is all he will take away from Daniel just a conversation with a dude he forgets his name at the end anyways

Pinchbeck is a hipster who thinks he's an intellectual and on a higher level of thinking when Jodorowsky is light years ahead of him.

I didn't know Daniel Pinchbeck... i think he didn't understand anything from what Jodorowsky tried to explain to him. As Jodo said, he will need 20 years more to open his brain and his heart. How is it possible to have so less emotion and feeling for a man supposed to write about chamanism ??

@chr0mtique Well said. At least Pinchbeck is working on himself when alot of people aren't even aware of this work on oneself.

Daniel Pinchbeck is trying to come off as an equal with Jordorowsky and is clearly full of himself, however Jordorowsky's humble nature wasn't put off, except for a few good laughs. I was totally annoyed at Pinchbeck attempts to talk about himself and play up his books, etc. Why is it so hard for people like him to just relax and be themselves without having to try so hard to be important?

"He forget my gift! Como se llama?" Lol he forgot Daniel's name. You guys are so harsh though. This wasn't just a candid, casual meeting. There were cameras surrounding them. Jodorowsky might have been used to that, but I'm guessing Pinchbeck wasn't. I'm just saying, I'd act dumb too with that much pressure in front of artist I respect.

Also, who edited this and where did they come up with that silly music? Pinchbeck just seems like a total burning man dorkus with bad taste. Just doing ayahuasca a few times, and selling some bad books to ignorant people doesn't make you an enlightened slickster.
