First off, good job! You didn't skip DS II like many people do. I think it's an interesting experience! Second, this game experimented with a lot of different concept so feel free to try different things out. You'd be surprised how many weird things can happen in this game! Good luck and enjoy the ride!
Enemies will stop spawning after killing them a certain amount of times (15 times if I recall correctly), but there is a way to "convert" a certain area as if it was NG+ or NG++, and that will bring back those enemies with a higher difficulty but better rewards. Also, there is a way to mitigate the ammount of life lost in every death, but that will be a challenge on its own. Also also, keep an eye that you now have more controll on the direction in which you roll Hope you enjoy this new adventure! Btw, love the small references to DS1
If you have the patience for it, a death counter would be cool! Totally understand if not, editing is a pain. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Hidden paths open in this game by pressing the interact button (A on xbox, X on ps), while standing in front of the wall. So it is not like the other games where attacking the wall will open the hidden path.
If you are a KBM player like myself :D , the "turn off doubleclick" is buggy, and has to be set to off and on again to really work. Sorry for being so late in the series :) I can help you out setting KBM up if you want it :)
Dude honestly at this point I'm fine with the controller hahah I got used to it. If DS3 has better KBM settings I'll go back to it there, but yeah it's not a major issue. But really appreciate you looking out! Hope you enjoy the series🤝 Again thanks for letting me know about the playlist in your other comment
@@MrChalkYT first ep here was great :) ds2 keys are weird, but you can set them to fit the other games.(more or less) And no problem with the playlist :D I just wanted a easier time watching all the ep's
Fuck yeah! Let's go! I was waiting a lot for this. I will try to answer some of your questions and I know that this time I almost wrote a bible for you, but you video is also very long, so... 11:30 - "is my penis visible?" LMAO - I litteraly die here 20:06 - Same shirt! 😄 35:07 - Dude, you don't need to apologise. In this game, they didn't care about computer users who play with a keyboard and mouse. They changed a lot of the gameplay and shortcuts. So, those who were already fully familiar with the previous game had to completely readapt or try to bind the keys in a similar way, which is a lot of work and still doesn't stay exactly the same because of the new features, one of them being making strong attacks with the weapon in left hand, witch ocuppy the exact keys combinations for parrying in DS1. This is one of my complaints about DS2. 40:49 - in DS1 Snuggly the Crow is kinda like a merchant who will trade items with you. To initiate a trade, you need to drop the item you wish to offer into the nest, then quit the game and reload. When you return, your reward will be in the nest. You can get upgrade materials, purging Stones, rings, weapons or spells. 42:43 - There is a reward for lighting all of the sconces, but you'll have to backtrack because you can't access all of the area yet. You can trade the reward with Dyna and Tillo (the crows in the nest) for some good itens. To trade an item simply drop it in their nest using the “Leave” option. If the sisters accept what you have offered them, the trade will occur immediately and the item you left will be instantly replaced with the one you are given in return with no need to quit to the title screen as in DS1. 58:44 - Each covenant typically offers a unique item or spell exclusively available to its members. Not to mention that many times the NPC that allows you to join the covenant also sells items. 1:04:25 - That's what she said! 1:28:54 - The level design is completely different from DS1 (the world is not interconnected and the placement of mobs is not designed to be a trap to be solved - in some areas of the game you are overwhelmed by the amount of them), the combat is not as refined and the bosses are kind of clumsy. The game felt disjointed in some moments, with levels that seemed to lack a logical flow or connection, diminishing the sense of a unified world. Some enemy hitboxes are terrible and and tend to have inconsistent duration of activation: they do not follow sweet spot rules meaning their weapons will do the same amount of damage regardless of locationand and that occurs way often than in DS1.Parry/Riposte/Backstab has been changed to the point where it feels ruined for some people (including me). NPC summons and invaders seem to have worse AI. When you enter the fog walls there's no invincibility frames, so things don't go very well when you try to run past enemies to go to a boss or new area. The list is long. 1:38:06 - That's the attunement slots required. Attunement is an attribute governing number of spells that can be attuned and boosts spell casting speed. 1:41:06 - The trauma is real. 🤣 1:42:55 All armor has a "fixed scaling bonus" that is unique for each armor. This is a fixed bonus that is always received when wearing the armor regardless of the user stats (assuming minimum armor stats are met). In addition to this fixed value, two actual scaling bonuses are also received based on the sum total of endurance, vitality dexterity and strength. The higher the letter the better the armor going on fisical defense. S: Excellent protection. A: Good protection. B: Above average protection. C: Average protection. D: Below average protection. E: Very poor protection. 1:52:18 - there are doors that are breakable in this game 1:55:14 - This is another one of the punishing mechanics that nobody likes in Dark Souls 2. The more you die, the lower your health goes. After your first death, you lose 10% of your maximum HP, and with each subsequent death, the loss increases, potentially reaching 50% after 10 deaths. You only get back to the normal amount after using a human effigy, which would basically correspond to restoring your humanity in the previous game. 1:59:48 - you should go there. There's a good reward for early game. 2:04:41 - They substituted Patches, the bald guy in the Tomb of Giants in DS1, (wich is a recurring character in all souls games) for this dude "Pate". 😒 2:07:53 - You need to use the activate button on the wall to the right for it to open. 2:21:56 - Sitting on bonfires automatically repairs your equipment
Holy mother of all comments! These are super interesting tips here, didn't know about the whole snuggly the crow thingy, I'll give that a revisit sometime. And yeah the controls here are way different, lots of new mechanics, but I think I'll be fine with a controller. So far I like how the game looks but I barely scratched the surface here so I may be speaking too soon hahah, have yet to face a boss and see how bad the jankyness really is. I'll keep that in mind about covenants. The armor scaling is interesting, I don't recall that being in the first game. I'm gonna have to look into that since I got a dex build here! Yeah, another commenter said that the health bar being cut was from hollowing, I guessed that an effigy would solve it - looks like I was right. Wow these are great Khalid! Thanks so much man, appreciate you sticking around from DS1 and watching the whole thing. Gonna try to cut down the runtime for my next episode, 2.5 hours is a bit too much

Vigor is Vitality, Adp is Resistance in Ds1. But in Ds2 it also raises your time.

Noted. Yeah I was debating on including a death counter but if it improves the watching experience, I'll for sure bring that in. thanks Andre!
One small tip, trying not to give you the answer directly - Your shrinking health bar is a reflection of how hollowed you are
