I found your earlier video from a year ago about using AITool, and just got it all setup last week. I saw the settings in the newest Blue Iris software for Deepstack, but wanting to get a working solution, I ignored those until I could get around to playing with it. These recommendations are really great. I was missing a lot of alerts with the out of the box setup and these seem to fix it. One thing I would add. Under Alerts, Notifications, Push Notification. Change from Alert Image to 10-second GIF. This will give you a quick video in the notifications instead of having to open the app every time.

Great video! I follow the original video a year ago but gave up on Deepstack because the i5-7400/AI-Tool setup can only process an image every 800-1000ms. When several cameras are active, the CPU jumps to 100% and the stock cooler transforms into a jet engine.
Now that Blue Iris and Deepstack both updated their software, I've managed to get the GPU version running on my 1070. The processing time came down to 20-35ms and the GPU utilization is less than 1% even when processing several cameras per second.

I am having a real problem with the implementation of this and hope that you can lead me back onto the right path. Scrupulously following your directions, my DeepStack completely fails. Once the camera detects motion, the very next log entry is "DeepStack: Not running or unreachable", followed by "DeepStack has been restarted". This results in alerting and capturing EVERYTHING. Is there a forum you'd recommend or other off-line channel that I could seek help at? Cheers, keep up the good work, and "Bravo!" on the excellent videos!!

Seems like running adults are a bit tricky to catch as well but not as tricky as kids. I have a 4K Hikvision running in 10 fps. Hey logged in to post that you do great videos! I saw your Ubiquiti ones which were some of the best ones Ive seen, well articulated, and clarified some networking aspects that others skim over. Great work. Hope we see other videos such as OPNsense that I am migrating to. About this BI and deep stack, i havent seen much reason to migrate from V4 to V5, you may have given me one if it works well. Hoping they sorted all the issues you brought up. Also oddly enough I have a very similar Dell i7 6th gen CPU for my BI setup for 4 years now. Glad to know it still is relevant. For your celeron comparison did you set it with h.265 or h.264 and hardware acceleration. H.265 consumes more CPU with hardware acceleration so may be it explains your issues with frames? V4 doesnt have it so I have stuck with .264 and a bigger drive. Thanks

Thanks Rob! I'm not sure which one of the many settings I just changed fixed it but my five RLC-810A's and my EZVIZ DB1 are now all recording flawlessly in Blue Iris on the Windows VM on my unRAID server.

@@TheHookUp No, not yet. Thanks not for the link. I did not know that there is a template for alternative settings :O
I hope that Reolink will soon fix the problem with the I-frame interval. But I read today in a forum that the feature was already requested in 2016, which does not give me much hope :(

@@Luuuu793 I think the problem is something other than the iFrame. To me it seems like a non-conforming H265 codec. If I change my other cameras to have the same iFrame as the reolink they do not experience the same issues.

Awesome sharing! Thanks rob! Does blue iris + deep stack could control the PTZ in order to follow the object it tracking? If can't, is there any software/plugin that could do that? Once again, thanks!

How would I best view these live streams and AI-generated recordings on my phone away from home? (Android/iOS)

Amazing tutorial. Much inspiration has been implemented both with Ubiquiti and now Blue Iris /AI! Thanks so much!
What if I want to get my alerts on Telegram? Is there a simple setup? I see I can use AI Tool by VorlonCD, but I really want to keep the CPU and power consumption in the low end, so wondering if any know of a simple but effective solution. I'm still new to Blue Iris, but maybe a web request action in an alert could do the trick?

Awesome Videos Thank! been using BI for years. Just upgraded to 5 and DeepStack. I keep getting alot of errors (Deepstack: Alert Cancelled (occupied)) what does this mean?
and I setup a Main/Sub Stream on Video Tab and set Record Tab to Record Dual Streams. where is a setting to set only Main Stream for Alerts?

What's the best way to take an AI triggered alert and send a HA notification to a phone with either the Alerts folder image or the little preview that UI3 uses? I've got it so BlueIris is sending MQTT messages and HA with Node-RED can send a notification to a phone with the companion app, just not sure about the image or animated preview part.

Amazing video as always! I’m struggling getting deepstack gpu working. Installing nvidia cuda and cudnn is rough and I think that’s where my problems lie. Seems like many people struggle with this and the only help I’ve found is various snippets of information on forums. Please make a video to assist us :)

Rob I know this is a year old but just curious do you feel the Deepstack integration has improved over the last year and while easier does it do as good of a job as when you were using AI-Tool (which I still am) Thanks

With the latest Blue Iris release and reolink 820a (dome version of 810a) you don't need to do the alternate setup. I just set my pretrigger for 10 seconds and it switches to the 4k stream about 5 seconds before the trigger. I have my main stream at 25fps, substream at 15fps.

Does this mean that reolink should not be thought of as having issues with blue iris and deepstack anymore? Or are there other issues? Or issues with other 4k cameras like 810a is fine but 811a pumpkin?

After losing my BI Srv OS SSD, I rebuilt a new server and started from scratch with everything I've learned from your videos here, thanks btw! But ran into a snag tonight not sure if it's a bad thing or a good thing. I have Release 5.5.1.11 and I have found now when you are on the 'Trigger' Tab and next to 'Video' selecting 'Continuous + Alert' will gray out the option for 'Record dual-streams if available'. I went ahead and configured a test cam (amcrest 4k), everything seems to work, still testing though. But is this normal now? I see in your video here that the option use to not do that or is there something else I'm missing?
