      Great video. I will be staying at the Hilton Conrad Bora Bora hotel as well. Will definitely be looking for the cheaper option to the boat ferry. Did u have to contact the hotel to book the resort transfer from the Main Island to the Hotel?

    Hey i got a way to save money too, on the Bora Bora vacation. Use your own boat, pull into the lagoon at night, and don't forget your fishing pole and booze.

    If you have a Costco membership you can find deals as well. It is still not cheap, but you will save on food packages and they do all the booking including the boat transfer.

    Very helpful video, thank you. My fiance and I plan to visit Bora Bora in March-April 2023 for our honeymoon. So I know that March-April is shoulder season, and there is a mild weather risk (rainy season). I researched the historical weather data for March, and it's not too bad. For example, second half of March 2022 was quite dry. Any thoughts on people's prior experiences traveling to Bora Bora in March-April would be most appreciated.

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We visited in March and we only had rain one day of our trip. We were told that we got pretty lucky though.. You definitely aren't guaranteed to have good weather but it worked out for us. Fingers crossed it is good weather for you if you go then!

    • @mattfrias2007
      @mattfrias2007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kristian_pr All in all, we had nearly perfect weather during our two weeks in French Polynesia. We had excellent weather for all five days in Bora Bora. We stayed at the Four Seasons, which we now rank as our favorite resort in the world. We had intermittent rain during one afternoon in Moorea, but the other four days were perfect. Note that the humidity is a factor, and that's coming from two native Floridians who are used to heat. We definitely want to return!

    Your Tahiti stuff was great! Not so much the scenery of your vid contents which was spectacular, but the interaction between you and Kevin. Very enjoyable. My upper 60's wife and I will be heading that way the end of May. and will be doing a Windstar cruise between two resort stays - one at the Moorea Hilton. Keyed us up to do the scooter thing too. Your tips here has been valuable.... now just have to figure how to scam the breakfast bit at the Intercontinental Tahiti!

    I talked to my wife yesterday and we compromised on staying in the four seasons resort but we stay at a suite or villa on the beach. The overwater bungalow is $2,274 a night! Ouch! I’m paying for the trip and if we stay 10 nights it won’t cost us the cost of a car to stay . It will be $$ but it won’t be $$$$!!!
    Thanks!!

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it is definitely an expensive place to stay. We booked the cheapest room at the resort (not overwater) and somehow lucked out and were upgraded to an overwater bungalow. Still not sure how we got so lucky on that one......

    Hi! Great video! Question - does the room include a fridge where you can store food items? What type of lunch’s did you make on your own? We’re staying in an OW bungalow at Conrad as well for our babymoon so hunger is a huge issue here haha. Looking for ideas

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, there is a fridge in every room, but it was pretty full of things from the mini bar (you can move them around a little to make room). Bring lots of snacks! We brought a few items that you could eat by just adding hot water to (instant noodles, oatmeal, etc..The rooms have electric kettles) You could also try backpacking/camping meals. Mountain house is a popular one that we like. Other than that, lots of trail mix, granola bars, really whatever you like. I have even heard of people bringing boxes of cereal and buying milk from the resort. You can probably sneak out a banana or pastry from the breakfast buffet too if you're stealthy. Hope that helps!

    French Polynesia is a wonderful place with great scenery, culture and people, but it's just so riddiculisly expensive. I have been there twice but never gone further than the main island of Tahiti and the sister island Moorea. The thing is, if you go to other islands than Tahiti and Moorea, the various price range is either bare bones or very luxury, there is nothing in the middle. I have however been 3 times to the Cook Islands and I have also been to Tonga and Samoa wich is far cheaper.

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's worth it, in my opinion! But it's definitely somewhere you have to save for. I'm dying to get to the Cook Islands!

  • @johnjones3699
    @johnjones3699 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Where on the island does the free water taxi from the airport bring you? We are staying on island and are wondering how we can get transportation from where the free taxi would drop us to where our resort is on the island.

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The free ferry takes you to the town of Vaitape on the main island, pretty much right into the center of town. If you're staying at a resort they might have a boat that goes from Vaitape to the resort, I would contact them to ask and set that up

    What is the least expensive way to ferry to the other islands(like the locals) from the main island (Tahiti)🤔? Please let me know 🙏. Thanks 😊.

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would recommend sticking to Mo'orea. The ferry that tourists use is the same one as the locals, But you can ferry to Mo'orea (it's the closest island to Tahiti) and avoid an expensive inter-island flight. If you do want to go to to Bora Bora, you might have a boat option, but it's gunna take some time
