    Wow, first time I’ve seen someone load the drum samples one by one like that.

      It's a super handy way of doing things, it lets you be very precise in building your kit. Thanks for watching!

    I gotta try this I just ordered a KO and I already have a tonic and monotron delay (which I’m considering doing the CV mod) although I love that that thing the way it is! Nothing gets a better analog dub sounding delay then that, not something you can put in your pocket anyways . Great vid cheers!

    Loved this...Love most of what you do Beat ..just got my first Operators...still struggling to follow the commands..at my age its hard to remember button combo's or to memorise the structure's . Very nice Jam.

      Thank you! When it comes to memorizing functions I would prioritize getting down the basics like switching sounds and punch in sequencing. Then you can slowly add other functions as you like. When it comes to chaining patterns I always have a little notepad, either physical or on my computer, where I write down my pattern order so I don't forget lol.

    Nice idea to get some samples on the go when you have both po33 and po32!

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah! The PO-33 can be a simple "copy" of a basically any other pocket operator out there, which can open up some real possiblities!

    Thanks for this, very well-explained :)
    In your opinion, is the PO-32 Tonic worth it without using Microtonic? How much of the synthesis capability of Microtonic is missing from the PO-32?

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I definitely think it is worth it even without Microtonic. There are a ton of free kits available right here on TH-cam that people have made that sound absolutely stellar. if you wind up getting one, make sure to save your receipt though, because you can get a discount on the microtonic software if you decide to get it later!

    Would you recommend the 33 over the 32 then? I'm trying to pick my first one and I don't really understand the difference. I do have a montron delay aswell

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The 33 is a sampler. you record your own sounds into it, base could be anything from drums to vocals to instruments, whatever you'd like. The 32 is a drum machine based on the microtonic software. So it can load any sounds designed in that software. If you're looking for a device to make more complete songs definitely go with the 33, if you just want drums get the 32!

    do you think the perfect combination today is 32 and 35 together? Thanks

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on what kind of music you want to make. if you have a good source for samples, I would recommend using the 32 and the 33 instead probably.

    Hey, let me know (if you still have it) if you would like to sell your broken ko. I have one with a broken switch. Just wondering.
    Thanks for what you do. Priceless!

    how do I choose between them for techno usage?

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tonic only does drums, so if you want to actually make songs with different parts, get the KO.

    Shame about the screen bleed on the po33. Mine has a small patch from banging something lol. I guess the function is so easy a display isnt really needed when you know it inside out. Nice demo though. These are crazy little calculators. Lol

      Thanks for watching! This video was filmed back when my KO was still mostly usable. The problem has gotten worse and it's basically a bad paperweight at this point haha.
